1 Bible Passages for Arabic Readers. This arrangement of the Arabic, and Greek texts, and the English translation is in the Public Domain. The Arabic text is from the translation of 1865 by Smith & Van Dyke. The Greek text is that of the Westcott and Hort, edition of 1893; New York: Harper & Brothers, Franklin Square (WITHOUT the marginal readings). Verse references are added before each Greek verse. Accent, breathing marks and punctuation will generally NOT BE given. The English translation with four highlight colors: first second third highest plus bold and/or bold underline are used for various degrees of emphasis. Red Font color is used for emphasis in some notes. Italics are used for quotations. Bracketed Bible references will be supplied. For example Genesis 1:1 = [GEN 1:1] and 1 Kings1:1 = [1KI 1:1]. Because of a conflict two references will differ from the ordinary first 3 digits for the name of the book (i.e.) Judges = [JDG 1:1] and Philemon = [PHM 1:1]. And the Light shines in the darkness and the darkness did not receive it [see JOH 1:10. This one came to be a witness [JOH 1:7; 8; 15; 19; 32; 34 - See also MAL 3:1; MAT 17:9-14], in order that he might witness about the Light, in order that all might believe through Him. ل م ی ك. ن ھ و \لن ور ب ل ل ی ش ھ د ل لن ور ی وح ن ا 1:8 JOH 1:8 ουκ ην εκεινος το φως αλλ ινα μαρτυρηση περι του φωτος. He was not that Light but in order that he might witness about the Light. 2

He [Jesus] was the true Light Who lights all men [JOH 8:12, a light to ALL - not just to the Jews; see also JOH 1:4, 5; 3:19-21; 2CO 4:3, 4; ROM 1:19-25] coming into the world. ن ف ي \ل ع. ال م و ك و ن \ل ع ال م ب ھ و ل م ی ع ر ف ھ \ل ع ال م ی وح ن ا 1:10 JOH 1:10 εν τω κοσμω ην και ο κοσμος δι αυτου εγενετο και ο κοσμος αυτον ουκ εγνω. And He [Jesus] was in the world, and the world through Him was made, and the world knew Him not [see JOH 1:5]. إ ل ى. خ اص ت ھ ج اء و خ اص ت ھ ل م ت ق ب ل ھ ی وح ن ا 1:11 JOH 1:11 εις τα ιδια ηλθεν και οι ιδιοι αυτον ου παρελαβον He came to His own, and His own received Him not. م ا ك ل \ل ذ ین ق ب ل وه ف ا ع ط اھ م س ل ط انا أ ن ی ص یر وای وح ن ا 1:12 أ و لا د \. أ ي \ل م و م ن ون ب اس م ھ JOH 1:12 οσοι δε ελαβον αυτον εδωκεν αυτοις εξουσιαν τεκνα θεου γενεσθαι τοις πιστευουσιν εις το ονομα αυτου But those who received Him He gave to them authority to become children of God to those believing in His name ذ ین و ل د وا ل ی س م ن د م و لا م ن م ش یي ة ج س د و لا م ن ی وح ن ا 1:13 م ش یي ة. ر ج ل ب ل م ن \ JOH 1:13 οι ουκ εξ αιματων ουδε εκ θεληματος σαρκος ουδε εκ θεληματος ανδρος αλλ εκ θεου εγεννηθησαν who not by blood, nor by the will of flesh, nor by the will of man, but they were born by God [Not by physical birth, nor by ones own will or by the will of others BUT by God. 4 4 ی وح ن ا / 36 3:1-21, John 3:1-21, 36 ك ان إ ن س ان م ن \ل ف ر یس ی ین \س م ھ ن یق ود یم وس ی وح ن ا 3:1 ر ي. ی س ل ل ی ھ ود JOH 3:1 ην δε ανθρωπος εκ των φαρισαιων νικοδημος ονομα αυτω αρχων των ιουδαιων Now there was a man of the Pharisees, a ruler of the Jews; his name was Nicodemus. ھ ذ ا ج اء إ ل ى ی س وع ل ی لا و ق ال ل ی ا ھ :» م ع ل م ن ع ل م أ ن ك ی وح ن ا 3:2 ت م ن \ م ع ل م ا لا ن ل ی س أ ح د ی ق د ر أ ن ی ع م ل ھ ذ ه لا ی ات ال ت.«ي أ ن ت ت ع م ل إ ن ل م ی ك ن \ م ع ھ \ JOH 3:2 ουτος ηλθεν προς αυτον νυκτος και ειπεν αυτω ραββι οιδαμεν οτι απο θεου εληλυθας διδασκαλος ουδεις γαρ δυναται ταυτα τα σημεια ποιειν α συ ποιεις εαν μη η ο θεος μετ αυτου He came to Him by night and said to Him, Rabbi [Teacher], we know that You are a teacher sent from God. For no one is able to do these signs which You are doing unless God be with him. ف ق ال ی س ل ح ق وع :» \ل ح ق أ ق ول ل ك : إ ن ك ان أ ح د لا ی وح ن ا 3:3 ی ول د م ن.«ف و ق لا ی ق د ر أ ن ی ر ى م ل ك وت \ JOH 3:3 απεκριθη ιησους και ειπεν αυτω αμην αμην λεγω σοι εαν μη τις γεννηθη ανωθεν ου δυναται ιδειν την βασιλειαν του θεου Jesus answered and said to him, Most assuredly, I say to you, Except one should be born again [from above does not fit the context see JOH 3:4. The phrase born again simply means born of the Spirit. Verse 5 explains verse 3] he is not able to SEE the Kingdom of God [JOH 18:36; LUK 16:16; 18:17 f.]. ق ال ل ھ ن یق ود یم ك ی وس : ف» ی م ك ن \لا ن س ان أ ن ی ول د ی وح ن ا 3:4 و ش ی خ أ» ل ع ل ھ ی ق د ر أ ن ی د خ ل ب ط ن أ م ھ ث ان ی ة و ی ول د JOH 3:4 λεγει προς αυτον ο νικοδημος πως δυναται ανθρωπος γεννηθηναι γερων ων μη δυναται εις την κοιλιαν της μητρος αυτου δευτερον εισελθειν και γεννηθηναι Nicodemus says to Him, How is a man able to be born being old? HE IS NOT ABLE TO ENTER HIS MOTHER S WOMB A SECOND TIME AND TO BE BORN! أ ج اب ل ح ی س ق وع : \ل ح» ق أ ق ول ل ك : إ ن ك ان أ ح د لا ی ول د ی وح ن ا 3:5 ن \ل م اء و. \ل ر وح لا ی ق د ر أ ن ی د خ ل م ل ك وت \ JOH 3:5 απεκριθη ο ιησους αμην αμην λεγω σοι εαν μη τις γεννηθη εξ υδατος και πνευματος ου δυναται εισελθειν εις την βασιλειαν του θεου

Jesus answered, Most assuredly, I say to you, Except one be born of water [1st birth] and spirit [2nd birth Verse 6 explains verse 5] he is not able to enter into the Kingdom of God. ل ود م ن. \ل ج س د ج س د ھ و و \ل م و ل ود م ن \لر وح ھ و ر وح ی وح ن ا 3:6 JOH 3:6 το γεγεννημενον εκ της σαρκος σαρξ εστιν και το γεγεννημενον εκ του πνευματος πνευμα εστιν The one having been born of the flesh is flesh [1st birth = the physical birth] and one having been born of the Spirit is spirit [2nd birth = the spiritual birth - see JOH 3:12] [One becomes a child of God NOT by physical birth, one s own works, or the works of others BUT by God JOH 1:13; ROM 9:15, 16. Baptism, which is NOT even alluded to in this passage, is only a witness to one s profession that he has been born again by trusting in the promise of God Peter plainly calls it a figure [1PE 3:21] and Paul calls it a sign [ROM 4:9-11]]. لا ت ت ع ج ب أ ن ي ق ل ت ل ك : ی ن ب غ ي أ ن ت ول د وا م ن ی وح ن ا 3:7 JOH 3:7 μη θαυμασης οτι ειπον σοι δει υμας γεννηθηναι ανωθεν Marvel not that I said to you, It is necessary FOR YOU to be born again. ا ل ر یح ت ھ ب ح ی ث ت ش اء و ت س م ع ص و ت ھ ا ل ك ن ك لا ی وح ن ا 3:8 م ن أ ی ن ت ا ت ي و لا إ ل ى أ ی ن ت ذ ھ ب. ھ ك ذ ا ك ل م ن و ل د م ن ل». ر وح \ JOH 3:8 το πνευμα οπου θελει πνει και την φωνην αυτου ακουεις αλλ ουκ οιδας ποθεν ερχεται και που υπαγει ουτως εστιν πας ο γεγεννημενος εκ του πνευματος The wind blows where it wishes and you hear its sound but do not know from where it comes and where it goes; so are all who have been born of the spirit. ف س» ا ل ھ ن یق ود یم ك ی وس : ف» ی م ك ن أ ن ی ك ون ھ ذ ا ی وح ن ا 3:9 JOH 3:9 απεκριθη νικοδημος και ειπεν αυτω πως δυναται ταυτα γενεσθαι Nicodemus answered and said to Him, How are these things able be?! أ ج اب أ ن ی س ت وع :» م ع ل م إ س ر اي یل و ل س ت ت ع ل م ھ ذ ای وح ن ا 3:10 JOH 3:10 απεκριθη ιησους και ειπεν αυτω συ ει ο διδασκαλος του ισραηλ και ταυτα ου γινωσκεις Jesus answered and said to him, You are a teacher of Israel, and these things you do not know? ح ق \ل ح ق أ ق ول ل ك : إ ن ن ا إ ن م ا ن ت ك ل م ب م ا ن ع ل م ی وح ن ا 3:11 و ن ش ھ د. ب م ا ر أ ی ن او ل س ت م ت ق ب ل ون ش ھ اد ت ن ا 5

6 JOH 3:11 αμην αμην λεγω σοι οτι ο οιδαμεν λαλουμεν και ο εωρακαμεν μαρτυρουμεν και την μαρτυριαν ημων ου λαμβανετε Most assuredly, I say to you that which We know We are speaking, and what We have seen We are witnessing; and Our witness you do not receive. 6 ك ن ت ق ل ت ل ك م \لا ر ض ی ات و ل س ت م ت و م ن ون ی وح ن ا 3:12 ف ك ی ف ت و م ن ون إ ن ق ل ت ل ك م \لس م او ی ات JOH 3:12 ει τα επιγεια ειπον υμιν και ου πιστευετε πως εαν ειπω υμιν τα επουρανια πιστευσετε If the things upon Earth I said to you AND you do not believe, HOW will you believe IF I tell you the Heavenly things? ی س أ ح د ص ع د إ ل ى \لس م اء إ لا \ل ذ ي ن ز ل م ن \لس م اء ی وح ن ا 3:13 ب ن \لا. ن س ان \ل ذ ي ھ و ف ي \لس م اء \ JOH 3:13 και ουδεις αναβεβηκεν εις τον ουρανον ει μη ο εκ του ουρανου καταβας ο υιος του ανθρωπου No one has gone up into Heaven except the Son of Man Who came down from Heaven. و ك م ا ر ف ع م وس ى \ل ح ی ة ف ي \ل ب ر ی ة ھ ك ذ ا ی ن ب غ ي»ی وح ن ا 3:14 أ ن ی ر ف ع \ب ن \لا ن س ان JOH 3:14 και καθως Mωυσης υψωσεν τον οφιν εν τη ερημω ουτως υψωθηναι δει τον υιον του ανθρωπου Even as Moses lifted up the serpent in the desert so it is necessary for the Son of Man to be lifted up ي لا ی ھ ل ك ك ل م ن ی و م ن ب ھ ب ل ت ك ون ل ھ \ل ح ی اة ی وح ن ا 3:15 لا. ب د ی ة \ JOH 3:15 ινα πας ο πιστευων εν αυτω εχη ζωην αιωνιον in order that all those believeing in Him might have eternal life. ن ھ ھ ك ذ ا أ ح ب \ \ل ع ال م ح ت ى ب ذ ل \ب ن ھ \ل و ح ی د ی وح ن ا 3:16 ي لا ی ھ ل ك. ك ل م ن ی و م ن ب ھ ب ل ت ك ون ل ھ \ل ح ی اة \لا ب د ی ة JOH 3:16 ουτως γαρ ηγαπησεν ο θεος τον κοσμον ωστε τον υιον τον μονογενη εδωκεν ινα πας ο πιστευων εις αυτον μη αποληται αλλ εχη ζωην αιωνιον For God so loved the world that He gave His Only Begotten Son, in order that all those believing in Him should not perish but might have eternal life. ن ھ ل م ی ر س ل \ \ب ن ھ إ ل ى \ل ع ال م ل ی د ین \ل ع ال م ی وح ن ا 3:17 ب ل. ل ی خ ل ص ب ھ \ل ع ال م JOH 3:17 ου γαρ απεστειλεν ο θεος τον υιον εις τον κοσμον ινα κρινη τον κοσμον αλλ ινα σωθη ο κοσμος δι αυτου

7 For God sent not the Son into the world in order that He should judge the world but in order that the world might be saved through Him. ذ ي ی و م ن ب ھ لا ی د ان و \ل ذ ي لا ی و م ن ق د د ی ن لا ن ھ ل م ی وح ن ا 3:18 ی و م ن. ب اس م \ب ن \ \ل و ح ی د JOH 3:18 ο πιστευων εις αυτον ου κρινεται ο μη πιστευων ηδη κεκριται οτι μη πεπιστευκεν εις το ονομα του μονογενους υιου του θεου The one believeing in Him is not judged [condemned], BUT the one not believeing is judged [condemned] already because he has not believed in the name of the Only Begotten Son of God. ذ ه ھ ي \لد ی ن ون ة : إ ن \لن ور ق د ج اء إ ل ى \ل ع ال م و أ ح ب ی وح ن ا 3:19 س \لظ ل م ة. أ ك ث ر م ن \لن ور لا ن أ ع م ال ھ م ك ان ت ش ر یر ة \ JOH 3:19 αυτη δε εστιν η κρισις οτι το φως εληλυθεν εις τον κοσμον και ηγαπησαν οι ανθρωποι μαλλον το σκοτος η το φως ην γαρ αυτων πονηρα τα εργα And this is the judgment, that the Light has come into the world and men loved the dark rather than the Light for their works were evil. لا ن ك ل م ن ی ع م ل \لس ی ا ت ی ب غ ض \لن ور و لا ی ا ت يی وح ن ا 3:20 إ ل ى \لن. ور ل ي لا ت و ب خ أ ع م ال ھ JOH 3:20 πας γαρ ο φαυλα πρασσων μισει το φως και ουκ ερχεται προς το φως ινα μη ελεγχθη τα εργα αυτου For all who are practicing evil hates the light and does not come to the light in order that his works be manifested. م ام ن ی ف ع ل \ل ح ق ف ی ق ب ل إ ل ى \لن ور ل ك ي ت ظ ھ ر ی وح ن ا 3:21 أ ع م ال ھ.«أ ن ھ ا ب ا م ع م ول ة JOH 3:21 ο δε ποιων την αληθειαν ερχεται προς το φως ινα φανερωθη αυτου τα εργα οτι εν θεω εστιν ειργασμενα But one doing the truth comes to the Light, in order that his works may be shown that they have been done in God. ذ ي ی و م ن ب الا ب ن ل ھ ح ی اة أ ب د ی ة و \ل ذ ي لا ی و م ن ی وح ن ا 3:36 الا ب ن ل ن.«ی ر ى ح ی اة ب ل ی م ك ث ع ل ی ھ غ ض ب \ JOH 3:36 ο πιστευων εις τον υιον εχει ζωην αιωνιον ο δε απειθων τω υιω ουκ οψεται ζωην αλλ η οργη του θεου μενει επ αυτον. The one believing in the Son has eternal life. But the one disobeying the Son shall not see life but the wrath of God abides upon him. 7

8 ی وح ن ا / 44 6:37, ل م ا ی ع ط ین ي \لا ب ف ا ل ي ی ق ب ل و م ن ی ق ب ل إ ل ي لا ی وح ن ا 6:37 أ خ ر. ج ھ خ ار جا JOH 6:37 παν ο διδωσιν μοι ο πατηρ προς εμε ηξει και τον ερχομενον προς με ου μη εκβαλω εξω All whom the Father gives Me shall come to Me, and he who comes to Me I will in no wise cast out. ق د ر أ ح د أ ن ی ق ب ل إ ل ي إ ن ل م ی ج ت ذ ب ھ \لا ب \ل ذ يی وح ن ا 6:44 أ ر س ل ن ي. و أ ن ا أ ق یم ھ ف ي \ل ی و م \لا خ یر JOH 6:44 ουδεις δυναται ελθειν προς με εαν μη ο πατηρ ο πεμψας με ελκυση αυτον καγω αναστησω αυτον εν τη εσχατη ημερα No one can come to Me, except the Father Who has sent Me draw him and I will raise him up at the last day [From a human standpoint they had the very best opportunity: the preacher - Jesus; the evidence - miracles and signs; BUT except ]. ی وح ن ا / 14:1-6 ي ب. ت ض ط ر ب ق ل وب ك م. أ ن ت م ت و م ن ون ب ا ف ا م ن وا»ی وح ن ا 14:1 JOH 14:1 μη ταρασσεσθω υμων η καρδια πιστευετε εις τον θεον και εις εμε πιστευετε Let not your heart be troubled. Believe in God, also believe in Me. ي ب ی ت أ ب ي م ن از ل ك ث یر ة و إ لا ف ا ن ي ك ن ت ق د ق ل ت ی وح ن ا 14:2 ل ك م. أ ن ا أ م ض ي لا ع د ل ك م م ك ان ا JOH 14:2 εν τη οικια του πατρος μου μοναι πολλαι εισιν ει δε μη ειπον αν υμιν οτι πορευομαι ετοιμασαι τοπον υμιν In My Father s house are many abiding places. And if not so, I would have told you that I am going to prepare a place for you. م ض ی ت و أ ع د د ت ل ك م م ك ان ا آت ي أ ی ض ا و آخ ذ ك م إ ل ي ی وح ن ا 14:3 ح ت ى ح ی ث أ ك ون أ ن ا ت ك ون ون أ ن ت م أ ی ض ا JOH 14:3 και εαν πορευθω και ετοιμασω τοπον υμιν παλιν ερχομαι και παραλημψομαι υμας προς εμαυτον ινα οπου ειμι εγω και υμεις ητε And if I go and prepare a place for you [Eternal - The New Heaven and Earth], I am coming again, and will receive you to Myself in order that where I am, you may be also. 8

9 و ت ع ل م ون.«ح ی ث أ ن ا أ ذ ھ ب و ت ع ل م ون \لط ر یق ی وح ن ا 14:4 JOH 14:4 και οπου εγω υπαγω οιδατε την οδον And where I go you know the way. ق ال ل ھ تی وم ا س ا:» ی د ل س ن ا ن ع ل م أ ی ن ت ذ ھ ب ف ك ی ف وح ن ا 14:5 ن ق د ر» أ ن ن ع ر ف \لط ر یق JOH 14:5 λεγει αυτω θωμας κυριε ουκ οιδαμεν που υπαγεις πως οιδαμεν την οδον Thomas says to Him: Lord, we do not know where You are going. How can we know the way? ق ال ل ھ أ ن ی س ا ھ وع :و» \لط ر یق و \ل ح ق و \ل ح ی اة. ل ی س ی وح ن ا 14:6 أ ح د. ی ا ت ي إ ل ى \لا ب إ لا ب ي JOH 14:6 λεγει αυτω ιησους εγω ειμι η οδος και η αληθεια και η ζωη ουδεις ερχεται προς τον πατερα ει μη δι εμου Jesus says to him, I am the way, and the truth, and the life.
