2 > ἀφ-ῑκνoύμην *long ῑ]) δέχομαι διέρχομαι (>δι-ηρχόμην) διδάσκω εἰσέρχομαι (> εἰσ-ηρχόμην) εἰσφέρω (> εἰσ-έφερον) ἐπικαλέομαι (>ἐπ-εκαλούμην) ζητέω κόπτω κρατέω πορεύομαι φιλέω Imperfect of ἀπάγω *Accents: Thus far you have encountered circumflex accents on verbs mostly only with contract verbs. There is another location: The accent cannot precede the augmented syllable; that augmented syllable receives a circumflex when a single short syllable follows. (The other un-contracted place you ve seen a circumflex is in the singular imperative of one-syllable stems with long vowels: βαῖνε! παῦε!) ἀπῆγον ἀπῆγες ἀπῆγε ἀπήγομεν ἀπήγετε ἀπ ῆγον Nov. 7, Mon.
