Of Your Mystical Supper, Son God, receive me day as a communicant; for I will not speak Mystery Your enemies; nor will I give You a kiss, as did Judas, but like thief I confess You: Remember me, Lord, when You come in Your Kingdom! Be awe-stricken, O man, beholding deifying Blood; For it is a lighted Coal that burns unworthy. The divine Body both deifies nourishes me; It deifies spirit, wondrously nourishes mind. In brilliant company Your saints, how shall I unworthy enter? For if I dare enter in bridal chamber, my garment betrays me, for it is not a wedding garment, I shall be bound cast out by Angels; Lord, cleanse my soul pollution, save me, for You love mankind. Master, Who loves mankind, Lord Jesus Christ my God, do not let se Holy Things be me for judgment because my unworthiness, but rar may y be for purification sanctification soul body, as a pledge life Kingdom come.

18 The Basis Our Security What is basis our security? When we start thinking about that question, we may give many answers: success, money, friends, property, popularity, family, connections, insurance, so on. We may not always think that any se forms basis our security, but our actions or feelings may tell us orwise. When we start losing our money, our friends, or our popularity, our anxiety ten reveals how deeply our sense security is rooted in se things. A spiritual life is a life in which our security is based not in any created things, good as y may be, but in God, who is everlasting love. We probably will never be completely free from our attachment temporal world, but if we want live in that world in a truly free way, we'd better not belong it.

Often re is a sweet fragrance or Holy Myrrh flowing from relics, revealing Grace God; we read in Gospels that sin man is considered a foul odor before God while a virtuous holy life is as sweet aroma Christ un God (2 Cor. 2:15). Even if we American Orthodox cannot travel on pilgrimage a beloved Saint's reliquary or mb venerate his or her relics, we do have icons Saints, so can encounter Holy Ones in our daily lives. The sanctified bodies images Saints are so powerful that miracles continually occur by means ir relics, or even by being anointed with oil from lamps burning at ir relics, or from soil from ground where Saints are or were buried. By venerating Saints, not only do we convey our love for m, but also we bring in ourselves ir holiness blessing. Icons which stream Holy Myrrh, or "tears heaven" as it is sometimes called, are yet anor instance where God makes His presence known us, actively reaches out us. They serve as a reminder that we are called be sincere witnesses for Christ, following His example acting as shining beacons in fallen world around us. *Adapted from explanation in Retreat 2011 brochure
