5 At the Kyrie Ekekraksa O Lord, I have cried to You, hear me; hear me, O Lord. O Lord, I have cried to You, hear me; attend to the voice of my supplication when I cry to You, hear me, O Lord. Let my prayer be set forth, as incense before You, the lifting up of my hands as an evening sacrifice, O Lord. Στιχηρὰ Ἀναστάσιµα Tone 1 Ἦχος α If You should mark iniquities, Lord, O Lord, who shall stand? For with You there is forgiveness. Accept our evening prayers, O Holy Lord, and grant us remission of sins; for You alone revealed Your resurrection to the world. For Your name s sake I have patiently waited for You, O Lord; my soul has waited patiently for Your word, my soul has hoped in the Lord. Encircle Sion, O people, and surround it; give glory there to Him Who rose from the dead, for He is our God and has delivered us from our sins. From the morning watch until night, from the morning watch let Israel hope in the Lord. Come O people, let us hymn and worship Christ, glorifying His resurrection from the dead; for He is our God and has delivered the world from the deception of the enemy. Anatolian Stichera For with the Lord there is mercy, and with Him is plenteous redemption; and He shall redeem Israel out of all his iniquities. O heavens rejoice, O foundations of the earth sound the trumpets, O mountains cry with joy. For behold Emmanuel has nailed our sins to the Cross, and the Life has caused death to die, thus raising Adam for He loves mankind.

6 Praise the Lord, all you nations; praise Him, all you peoples. Let us hymn the One Who was willingly crucified in the flesh for our sake, Who suffered, died, and rose from the dead, saying: confirm Your church in Orthodoxy, O Christ, and grant peace to our lives, for You are good and love mankind. For He has made His mercy to prevail over us, and the truth of the Lord abides to the ages. Let us the unworthy stand by Your life-giving tomb, giving glory to Your ineffable compassion, Christ our God; for You accepted crucifixion and death, O sinless One, so as to bestow resurrection upon the world, for You love mankind. Στιχηρὸν Ἀνατολικὸν Tone 1 Ἦχος α Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit. Let us praise the Word without beginning and co-eternal with the Father, Who came forth ineffably from the virgin womb, Who willingly accepted crucifixion and death for our sake, and Who rose in glory; let us say: glory to You, O life-giving Lord, the Savior of our souls. The First Theotokion of the Tone Τό α Θεοτοκίον τοῦ ἤχου Tone 1 Ἦχος α Now and ever, and to the ages of ages. Let us praise Mary the Virgin, the glory of the whole world, born of human seed and Mother of the Master: the heavenly gate, the praise of the bodiless spirits, and the beauty of believers. She indeed did appear as paradise and tabernacle of the Divinity. She tore down the middle wall of partition, the intervening enmity; she brought peace and opened the kingdom. Let us therefore hold fast to her, for she is the anchor of the faith; let us receive the Lord born as a child from her. Take courage, O people of God, for He Who is almighty shall fight against our enemies.

For Your servants have bowed their heads, and they have bent their necks to You, the fearsome Judge Who loves mankind; they do not expect help from men, but they await Your mercy, and look for Your expected salvation; protect them at all times, during both the present evening and the coming night, from every enemy, from every opposing work of the devil, and from vain thoughts and evil memories. Hasten from that vision O women bearers of good news, and say unto Sion receive from us, the tidings of joy, of the resurrection of Christ. Dance and celebrate, and rejoice now, O Jerusalem. For you beheld Christ your King as a bridegroom, coming forth from the tomb. So let sinners perish at the presence of God, and let the righteous be glad. When the myrrh-bearing women, very early in the morning, came and stood before the tomb of the Life Giver, they found an Angel, sitting upon the stone. 19 Katavasiai of Pascha by Saint John of Damascus Tone 1 Ode 1 This is the day of resurrection, let us be radiant O people: Pascha, the Lord's Pascha. For Christ our God has passed us from death to life, and from earth to heaven, we who sing the song of victory. Ode 3 Come, let us drink a new drink, not one wondrously brought forth from a barren rock, but from the fount of incorruption, which springs forth, from the tomb of Christ, in Whom we are established. Ode 4 The inspired Prophet Habbakuk now stands with us in holy vigil, he is like a shining angel, who cries with a piercing voice: Today salvation has come to the world, for Christ is risen as all-powerful. Ode 5 Let us rise early at the break of dawn, and offer a hymn instead of myrrh to the Master. And let us behold Christ the Son of righteousness, Who causes life to rise for all. Ode 6 You descended, into the depths of the earth, and shattered the everlasting bars, which kept the dead captive. And like Jonah from the whale, You arose O Christ from the tomb, on the third day. Ypakoë Read (Tone 4) Those who came with Mary anticipated the dawn, but found the stone rolled away from the sepulcher and heard the Angel say: Why do you seek Him Who abides in everlasting light among those who are dead, as though He were merely a mortal man? 20 Kontakion of Pascha Read (Tone Plagal 4) Though You descended into the grave, O immortal One, You overthrew the power of Hades; You arose as victor, O Christ God, saying loudly to the women, Rejoice; and You bestowed peace upon Your Apostles, O O You Who grants resurrection to the fallen. Oikos of Pascha Read (Tone 4) Before sunrise the myrrh-bearing maidens came as though it were day to seek the Son Who had descended into the grave; and as they went they said to one another: Come O friends, let us anoint with fragrant spices the life-giving and buried body of Christ Who raised up the fallen Adam; let us hasten like the Magi and adore Christ bringing myrrh as a gift to Him Who is wrapped now not in swaddling clothes but in a burial shroud; and let us weep and cry out to Him: Arise, O Master, Who grants resurrection to the fallen. 25 Praise Him with tuneful cymbals; praise Him with cymbals of jubilation. Let every breath praise the Lord. We glorify Your divine condescension, and we sing Your praise, O Christ; You were born of a Virgin, and from the Father You remained inseparable; You suffered as a man and voluntarily endured the Cross; as one emerging from a bridal chamber, You rose from the sepulcher, in order to save the world: Glory to You, O Lord. Stichera of Pascha Tone Plagal 1 Let God arise and let His enemies be scattered, and let those who hate Him flee from before His face. Today the sacred Pascha is revealed to us. The new and holy Pascha the mystical Pascha. The all-venerable Pascha. The Pascha which is Christ the Redeemer. The spotless Pascha. The great Pascha. The Pascha of the faithful. The Pascha which has opened unto us the gates of paradise. The Pascha which sanctifies all the faithful. As smoke vanishes, so let them vanish; as wax melts before the fire. And he cried out these words to them saying: Why do you seek, the Living among the dead? Why do you mourn, the Incorruptible among those subject to decay? But go, and proclaim the good news, unto His disciples!
