4 What is DLX-1088 Advance Personal Laser Hair Remover The DLX-1088 system disables the follicles in your skin that produce hair. It emits a pulse of laser light, which burns up the dark pigment inside the hair. This heat disables the hair follicle. In other words the laser zaps only what s dark-that s why it works only on naturally brown or black hair. To be effective, the laser needs to reach each hair follicle during its growth cycle. This requires treatment twice a month for 3 months and then once a month for 3-5 months, which results in gradual reduction after the third treatment. Advantages When used directly, the DLX-1088 system gives you long term removal of unwanted hair without the need for daily shaving, waxing, or plucking. The results may vary from user to user and it depends on any body area you treat and how well you follow the instructions in this user manual, but the clinical study demonstrated the following advantages. It is a much faster and easier way for a hair removal than other existing methods. Almost no painful and shorter time-consuming compared with other treatments. DLX-1088 removes your hair fast and clean. You can feel the soft skin resulted from pore constriction after treated. Unlike shaving, it does not harm your skin and cause any inflammation. This can help minimize pores. If you have tanned too much or have dyed the hair, wait until the skin is returned into normal color because laser has a characteristic feature that reacts with dark hair easily. 4

5 Warnings & Safety information As with any electrical device, certain precautions must be taken in order to ensure your safety when using DLX DLX-1088 is an electrical device. As such it should always be kept away from water. Do not use this appliance near bath-tubs, showers, basins or other vessels containing water. Don t touch the device with wet hands. Keep this device out of the reach of children. The DLX-1088 should not be used on or by children below the age of 15. Don t look with or without protection (optical lenses) directly to the laser beam aperture. Don t attempt to open or repair your DLX-1088 device. An authorized repair center technicians must perform all repairs. Contact customer service to arrange for repair of a broken or damaged device. Send the device to your dealer or service center for maintenance each year. If any failure problems, please contact your dealer or service center. 6 Precautions While making the treatment, a flash red light may be seen coming from the laser applicator. Do not put your face near or expose your eyes to the flash. Don t use on parts of your skin that are darker than your usual skin tone, tattoos, dark brown or black spots (such as large freckles, birthmarks, or moles), or skin that is red or swollen from a previous treatment. Any dark skin may absorb too much laser light, which can injure the skin. Use a cool towel to keep your overall skin temperature down so that you can ensure the heat created by the laser for a longer period of time. It is recommended to use a Cooling gel after treatment. Don t use the DLX-1088 on or around the eyes, eyebrows, or eye lashes, to prevent causes or any serious eye injury. Your skin may become red right after treatment or within 24 hours. This redness generally clears up within a few hours. Warnings Don t use anywhere on the nipples, genitals or around the anus. These areas may have more sensitive skin, a darker skin tone, and/or a greater hair density, and using the DLX-1088 system may injure the skin. Don t use the DLX-1088 system. If you have a history of skin cancer or areas of potential skin malignancies. If you have allergies. If you are pregnant or breast-feeding. The DLX-1088 system has not been tested on pregnant women. After drinking, taking medicine, suffering from fatigue, or suffer from a high fever. 6

7 If you have too much sensitive skin conditions. Don t use the DLX-1088 system for any purpose other than hair removal. Only press the RESET and the product can be worked normally. Risks Your skin may become red right after treatment or within 24 hours. This redness generally clears up within a few hours. See your doctor if the redness doesn t go away within 2-3 days. In rare cases, some users with a particular genetic make-up may see an increase in the number of hairs in the treated area after the initial treatment. If this increase persists over several treatments, stop using the DLX-1088 and see your doctor. Don t use the device if the skin color changes or on areas such as blisters. 7

9 Quick guide Clean the skin area to be treated, remove all traces of cosmetics and creams. For best results, shave or clip hair to be removed to 1-2mm length. It can help laser burns the root of the hair follicle correctly. Make sure the treated area has to be wiped with wet towel swipe or apply cooling gel 2-3 minutes prior the treatment. Plug in the power adapter or put 4 x AA alkaline batteries (NOT INCLUDED) and switch on the DLX-1088 home Personal Laser Hair Remover. Unlock the laser with the safety key as following position. The laser will be default to Lo but you can change to Med or Hi power setting by pressing the Mode Button. Set the laser on Lo setting for your first treatment. 9

10 Hold the Handle and move the Skin Contact Bars to the skin hairs in the selected area. A gently beep sound comes out and Contact LED On. Press the Laser Release button, laser generates to burn hairs. Pick up and move the Skin Contact Bars to another selected area for next treatment. The DLX-1088 laser hair remover works best if you treat one hair at a time. It is normal to feel a slight tingling sensation. After treatment, apply Cooling gel to treated areas. It will provide an instant cooling effect and proper hydration of the epidermis. Don t treat the same area of skin more than once every 2 weeks. It can take up to 2 months for a hair follicle to die and release its hair. Let the hairs gradually fall out, may take up to 10 to 14 days. It can take up to 5 treatments to remove hairs permanently. Must be followed above procedure to use the device, otherwise it will be created a Dangerous Harmful radiation. Do not put your face near or expose your eyes to the Laser Aperture while using the device. If any interference causes no function, press the RESET button. 10

11 What to expect a timeline Before treatment Fully wash skin area to be treated, removing all traces of cosmetics and creams. During treatment Don t wax or grip hairs out. For best results, shave or clip hair to be removed to 1-2 mm length. Some users experience a warm sensation, while others experience no sensation at all. As the amount of hair in the treated areas decreases, the sensation will also decrease. Treatment sessions with DLX-1088 should be spaced every two weeks. After the first treatment There is no any visible changes to the hair or the appearance of the skin. Usually, some users experience mild redness that quickly dissipates within 24 hours. After the second month of treatment (2 3 treatments) Hair growth will begin to reduce and become less dense. In some cases, it will appear as if the hair is continuing to grow. If you notice this, don t panic this is simply the skin working to eject the treated hair from the skin. After three months (3 4 treatments) You will begin to see a visible reduction in the amount of hairs re-growth, especially in areas where hair growth tends to be dense, like the bikini line for women or the back or chest for men. After six to eight months Enjoy skin that looks and feels as though the hair were never there. Do regularly touch-ups only if necessary. 11

12 Plan your DLX-1088 for best results Don t wax or grip hairs out. For best results, shave or clip hair to be removed to 1-2mm length Low Middle High Do not depilate your hair, or the laser will not be effective. Use the laser on the LOW setting for the first treatment to ascertain how your skin will react. To get the best results from laser hair removal, use on the High setting. Point the laser directly at the hair for permanent hair removal. Although the laser is transmitted into the hair root through the skin, it penetrates quite deeply in order to destroy it. You may experience a slight burning or tingling sensation in use - this is normal and means that the hair root has been successfully destroyed. Adjust the intensity of the laser depending on your sensitivity to the stinging sensation. After 30 minutes of use, we recommend a 5 minute break to protect both your skin and the laser. The key to long-lasting results is to treat the same area every 2 weeks over a period of 6-8 months. For difficult-to-treat areas such as armpits, we recommend that you get a friend to help you. Any hairs burned by the laser but not epilated can easily be removed using tweezers. 12

13 Or let the hairs gradually fall out on their own. This may take up to 10 to 14 days. Red marks may appear after use, but these will gradually disappear within a few days following treatment. The thicker the hair, the more effective the DLX-1088 at home Personal Laser Hair Remover. Q & A What is DLX-1088 laser hair removal? Laser hair removal is the use of laser energy to produce permanent hair reduction. DLX-1088 emits light energy that is absorbed by the melanin pigment, resulting in rapid heating of the hair follicle. The heat destroys the papillae (hair follicles) that are responsible for hair growth. What areas can be treated with DLX-1088? Any area, except adjacent to the eye, where there is excess hair can be treated with DLX The most common areas are the face, upper lip, neck, chest, periareolar, underarms, back, abdomen, bikini line, and legs. When will I see results from DLX-1088? Most users see noticeable reduction after 4 treatments. It is important to understand the hair growth cycle. Hair grows in three different stages and only hairs in an active growth stage will be affected by a DLX-1088 treatment. This is one of the main reasons that multiple treatments are required to achieve the desired result. Are there any side effects? In most cases there are no side effects associated with using DLX However, pigment change of the skin treated can rarely occur, including either dark or light areas. Pigment changes may persist for months, but are almost always temporary. They are very rare in patients with fair skin, who are un-tanned. 13

14 Will laser hair removal work for me? Due to the fact that a laser targets melanin, the more melanin an individual has in his/her hair, the more effective a laser will be. Light skin and dark hair are the best combination for laser hair removal, however DLX-1088 uses a diode laser which has a longer wavelength than other lasers used for hair removal, which may improve treatment results even on the darkest skin types. These side effects include burns, blisters, and even hyper-pigmentation. But, the chance is less than 1% and it goes away soon. Extra care should be taken to avoid sun exposure after treatments with DLX-1088 for 2~3 days. It is ok to take a shower after treatment. But avoid hot water in shower for 1 to 2 days. Don t treat the same area of skin more than once per hair removal session. Try to avoid overlapping treatments. Troubleshooting The device doesn t work when I put the skin contact bar to skins Check. That you plugged the power cord into the DLX-1088 and outlet. Unlock the laser with the safety key. Make sure Skin Contact Bar keeping contact with skins. You hear the beep sound. This beep sound that makes the go signal that the laser is now activated. The device is getting hot. The device can be getting hot by absorbing the heat if you use it for a long time. 14

15 Taking care of your DLX-1088 system No special care is required. But it s a good idea to keep the DLX-1088 system components clean. Cleaning Unplug the adaptor from the DLX-1088 hand-piece and the power socket. And, Keep this device out of the reach of children. If needed, you should be able to remove dirt or debris easily with Q-tips. Be careful not to damage the lens of the laser. Recycling/Disposal : Please recycle or dispose of the devices properly. Please follow the regulations where you live for the recycling or disposal of electrical devices. 20 Qué es el Sistema Avanzado de Depilación Láser DLX-1088 El sistema DLX-1088 incapacita los folículos en su piel que producen el vello. Aplica sutiles pulsaciones de luz de láser que queman el pigmento oscuro dentro del vello. Este calor incapacita el folículo piloso. En otras palabras el láser ataca sólo el vello que es oscuro por eso es adecuado sólo para el vello negro o naturalmente castaño. Para ser eficaz, el láser tiene que alcanzar cada folículo piloso durante su ciclo de crecimiento. Esto requiere el tratamiento dos veces al mes durante 3 meses y luego una vez al mes durante 3-5 meses, que resulta en la reducción gradual después del tercer tratamiento. Ventajas Cuando se utiliza directamente, el sistema DLX-1088 ofrece eliminación a largo plazo del vello no deseado sin la necesidad de rasura, depilación con cera o pincita diariamente. 22 Precauciones Mientras se hace el tratamiento, una luz parpadeando en rojo puede aparecer en la ventanilla del aplicador de láser. No coloque su cara cerca o exponer sus ojos a esta luz. No utilice en partes de tu piel que son más oscuras que su tono natural, sobre tatuajes, manchas marrones oscuras o negras (como pecas grandes, marcas de nacimiento o lunares), o piel que es roja o hinchada de un tratamiento anterior. Cualquier zona oscura de la piel puede absorber demasiada luz de láser que puede perjudicar la piel. Utilice una toalla fría para mantener baja la temperatura total de su piel de modo que pueda soportar el calor creado por el láser durante un período de tiempo más largo. Se recomienda utilizar un Gel refrescante después del tratamiento. No utilice el DLX-1088 en o alrededor de los ojos, las pestañas y las cejas, a fin de prevenir cualquier lesión ocular grave. Su piel puede tornarse roja justo después del tratamiento o dentro de 24 horas. Este enrojecimiento generalmente desaparece dentro de unas horas. 25 Guía rápida Limpie la área de la piel a tratar, eliminando todos los rastros de cosméticos y cremas. Para obtener los mejores resultados, rasure o corte el vello a depilar a 1-2mm de longitud. Ayuda al láser a quemar la raíz del folículo piloso correctamente. Asegúrese de limpiar la área a tratar con una toalla mojada o aplicar gel refrescante 2-3 minutos antes del tratamiento. Enchufe el adaptador corriente o pone 4 x AA pilas alcalinas (NO INCLUIDAS) y enciende el Sistema de Depilación Láser DLX Abra el láser con la llave de seguridad como en la siguiente imagen. El láser será por defecto a la configuración Lo (baja) pero se puede cambiar a Med (media) o Hi (alta) presionando el Botón de modo de función. Ponga el láser en la baja configuración para su primer tratamiento. 25

26 Sostenga el Mango y mueva las Barras de contacto con la piel hacia el vello en la área deseada. Un suave sonido sale y el LED de contacto enciende. Presione el Botón de emisión de luz láser. Esta luz quema el vello. Levante y mueva las Barras de contacto con la piel a otra área seleccionada para el siguiente tratamiento. El sistema de depilación láser DLX-1088 funciona mejor si trata un vello a la vez. Es normal tener una ligera sensación de picazón. Al tratar la área de la cara, no lance la luz directamente a los ojos. Después del tratamiento, aplique el Gel refrescante sobre las áreas depiladas. Ofrece una sensación de enfriamiento inmediata y ayuda a la hidratación apropiada de la epidermis. No trate la misma área de la piel más que una vez cada 2 semanas. Se necesitan hasta 2 meses para un folículo piloso a morir y liberar su vello. Deje que los vellos caigan gradualmente, se pueden necesitar hasta 10 a 14 días. Se necesitan hasta 5 tratamientos para eliminar el vello permanentemente. Se debe seguir el procedimiento arriba mencionado para el uso del dispositivo, si no se creará la radiación peligrosa y dañina. No coloque su cara cerca o exponer sus ojos a la ventanilla de luz láser mientras utiliza el dispositivo. Si cualquier interferencia provoca ninguna función, pulse el botón de reinicio (RESET). 26

28 Uso del DLX-1088 para los mejores resultados No depile con cera o pincita. Para obtener los mejores resultados, rasure o corte el vello a depilar a 1-2mm de longitud. Baja Media Alta No depile su vello o el tratamiento con el láser no será eficaz. Utilice el láser en la baja (LOW) configuración para su primer tratamiento para averiguar cómo su piel reaccionará. Para obtener los mejores resultados de la depilación láser, utilice la configuración alta (High). Lance el láser directamente al vello para la eliminación definitiva del vello. Aunque el láser se transmite en la raíz del vello a través de la piel, penetra profundamente a fin de destruirlo. Puede tener una ligera sensación de ardor o picazón durante el uso.
