ΤΙ ΕΙΝΑΙ ΤΟ ΚΕΑΝ (Κύτταρο Εναλλακτικών Αναζητήσεων Νέων) Το ΚΕΑΝ είναι μία ΜΗ ΚΥΒΕΡΝΗΤΙΚΗ ΟΡΓΑΝΩΣΗ που ασχολείται με τις Νέες Τεχνολογίες το Περιβάλλον αλλά και με το πώς η ενασχόληση αυτή μπορεί να γίνει Έργο για τις τοπικές κοινωνίες.
ΤΟ ΚΕΑΝ ΑΣΧΟΛΕΙΤΑΙ ΜΕ: 1. ΤΗΝ ΤΕΧΝΟΛΟΓΙΑ Δηλαδή ποιες είναι οι νέες τεχνολογίες και πως αυτές μπορούν να χρησιμοποιηθούν για την προστασία του περιβάλλοντος 2. ΤΑ ΚΟΙΝΑ Δηλαδή με το πώς η πολιτεία και η τοπική κοινωνία μπορούν να συνεργαστούν και να είναι σε εγρήγορση ώστε ενημερωμένοι και με πρακτικό τρόπο να αντιμετωπίζουν σχετικά θέματα και προβλήματα.

MARKET ANALYSIS Close to 70 hubs and over 16,750 DVB-RCS sites The market analysis predicts an annual growth rate of 15-20% for the two-way VSAT industry as a whole The DVB-RCS part shows tendency for continuous growth with 50-80% p.a. over the next years This 3-4 times faster growth in DVB-RCS solutions will change the market share of DVB-RCS based solutions from about 5% as of today to over 20% by the year 2008 Convergence s key factors are price reductions and interoperability
MARKET ANALYSIS Two-Way Enterprise VSAT Deployments (March 2005)
SatLabs Group CORTIBUTION SatLabs Group focus in the creation of recommendations, enabling true interoperability of DVB-RCS equipment from multiple vendors. As of today several manufacturers (e.g. NERA, EMS) have performed interoperability tests between various terminals against different HUBs. Such interoperability will eventually reduce cost of user terminals through the obtained economy of scale. Unlike traditional VSAT systems and equipment, customers will no longer be dependent on one single supplier, but will be able to choose the supplier that offers the best price-performance ratio.
Although SatLabs activities are ongoing, a first major step has been reached at the beginning of April 2005 with the launch of the SatLabs Qualification Program, which aims to achieve DVB-RCS interoperability testing and certification.
