The classification up to isomorphism of two-dimensional not necessarily commutative Jordan algebras over algebraically closed fields and R is presented in terms of their matrices of structure constants. Keywords: basis; Jordan algebra; matrix of structural constants. MSC: Primary: Primary 5A7 Secondary H.. Introduction The classification problem of finite dimensional algebras is one of the important problems of algebra. Many authors have considered this problem for different classes of two-dimensional algebras [ 5 6 7 8 9 ] and in [] the problem is considered for all two-dimensional algebras over any field. The approach of [] is basis free invariant approach. Unlike the approach of [] a complete list of isomorphism classes of two-dimensional algebras over algebraically closed fields is presented in [] by the use of structure constants approach and the same approach to the problem over the field of real numbers R has been applied in [4]. One of the interesting classes of algebras is the class of Jordan algebras. In [5 ] and [] the authors determined the isomorphic classes of Jordan algebras commutative case over the field of real numbers and over algebraically closed fields respectively. In this paper we make use results of [] and [4] to give complete lists of two-dimensional not necessarily commutative Jordan algebras over any algebraically closed and real fields by providing lists of canonical representatives of their matrices of structure constants. To the best of the authors knowledge such classifications of two-dimensional Jordan algebras has not been given yet. For some computations we used Computer Software Mathematica.. Preliminaries Let F be any field and A B stand for the Kronecker product that is for the matrix with blocks a ij B where A = a ij and B are matrices over F. emails: houida m7@yahoo.com; bekbaev@iium.edu.my; rakhimov@upm.edu.my.
H. Ahmed U.Bekbaev I.Rakhimov Definition.. A vector space A over F with multiplication : A A A given by uv u v such that αu+βv w = αu w+βv w w αu+βv = αw u+βw v whenever uvw A and αβ F is said to be an algebra. Definition.. Two algebras A and B are called isomorphic if there is an invertible linear map f : A B such that fu A v = fu B fv whenever uv A. Let A be a m-dimensional algebra over F and e = e e...e m be its basis. Then the bilinear map is represented by a matrix A = A k ij Mm m ;F as follows u v = eau v for u = euv = ev where u = u u...u m T and v = v v...v m T are column coordinate vectors of u and v respectively. Thematrix A Mm m ;F definedabove is called the matrix of structural constants MSC of A with respect to the basis e. Further we assume that a basis e is fixed and we do not make a difference between the algebra A and its MSC A. If e = e e...e m is another basis of A e g = e with g G = GLm;F and A is MSC of A with respect to e then it is known that A = gag is valid see []. Thus we can reformulate the isomorphism of algebras as follows. Definition.. Two m-dimensional algebras A B over F given by their matrices of structure constants A B are said to be isomorphic if B = gag holds true for some g GLm;F. α α Further we consider only the case m = and for the simplicity we use A = α α 4 β β β β 4 for MSC where α α α α 4 β β β β 4 stand for any elements of F. Due to [] we have the following classification theorems according to CharF CharF = and CharF = cases respectively. Theorem.4. To prove we make use the above presented results of [] and test the system of equations. for a consistency. α α For A α α α 4 β = α + α 4 the system of equations. becomes β α α + α. α β α α β α 4 β = α +α α α +α α β α β α 4 β +α α 4 β = +α α +α α α +α α α 4 +α α 4 +α α 4 β = α 4 +α α 4 +α α α 4 +α 4 β = α β +α β +α β = α +5α 6α β +α β 6α α β = +4α 4α +α α 6α α β 4α β 6α β α 4 β = α α α α 4 +α α 4 α α 4 α 4 β α α 4 β = α +α α α β +α α 4 β = α +α +7α α +6α α +α α 4 6α α 4 +α 4 β = +5α +8α +6α +α 4 α α 4 +α α 4 6α α α 4 = α 4 +α α 4 +α α 4 +α 4 α α 4 =. H. Ahmed U.Bekbaev I.Rakhimov J 95 = A 9 = = J 5 = A =. A Jordan algebra A is said to be commutative if u v = v u whenever uv A. Theorem 4.. Any non-trivial two-dimensional real Jordan algebra is isomorphic to only one of the following listed by their matrices of structure constants algebras: J r = A r = J r = A r = J r = A r = J 4r = A r = α J 5r α = A 5r α +α = where α R and α +α α + 5± 5 J 6r α = A 5r α α α α = α α where α α + J 7r α = A 5r α α α α = α α where < α < α + J 8r = A 6r 5 5 = 5 5 5 5 5+ 5 J 9r = A 6r 5+ 5 = 5+ 5 5 5 5 5 J r = A r = J r = A 5r =. In both cases the equation provides a contradiction. So in Case the system of equations. has no solution. Case. β =. Due to the equation 6 one has α =. In α = case the equation 7 provides a contradiction in α = the equation implies α = and the equation 4 implies α 4 = but the.
H. Ahmed U.Bekbaev I.Rakhimov equation provides a contradiction. In α = case the equation implies α = and the equation 4 implies α 4 = but the equation 7 provides a contradiction. So there is no Jordan algebra among A r. α For A r α β β = the system of equations. becomes β β α + β = β +α β = +α α +β = α β +α β +β β = α +α α α β +α β +β α β +β = β +α β +β β = +α α = α β β β = α α β +α β β = α =. Hence one gets β = α = and β = ± and we obtain the following Jordan algebras J r = A r = J r = A r =. α For A r α β β = the system of equations. becomes β β α 4. β = β α β = α +α β = α β +α β +β β = α +α α α β +α β +β α β +β = β α β β β = α +α = α β +β β = α +α +β α β +β = α =. Due to the equations and in the system of equations 4. we get β = α = then β = ± hence we obtain the following Jordan algebras J r = A r = J 4r = A r =.
