T he resu lts w ere exp ressed in the fo rm s of sem i2m atrix and con stellation figu res, and indicated that the in terspecific association w as of little sign ifican t level, on ly fou r pairs of species exh ib ited sign ifican tly po sitive association. T here w as a low association degree betw een mo st pairs of species; m eanw h ile few pairs of species w ere ex trem ely exclu sive to each o ther. Involu ra ta w ere ex trem ely po sitively associated w ith L ithoca rp us hen ry i, M eliosm a cuneif olia, A ra lia ch inensis and D ap hn ip hy llum m acrop od um, bu t ex trem ly negatively associated w ith P ad us w ilson ii. D av id ia involu ra ta, P hoebe shea reri, Cam ellia caud a ta,w ho se impo rtance val2 ues ranked first, w ere sligh tly associated w ith each o ther, and they occup ied their ow n n iches re2 spectively, competing sligh tly fo r environm en tal resou rces. T he fact that C. caud a ta w ere ex trem e2 ly po sitively associated w ith ten species show ed its stab le p lace in comm un ity and its impo rtan t ro le in m ain tain ing the stab le structu re of D av id ia involu ra ta Comm un ity.
