Be economically viable, at a reasonable gate fee per ton of MSW

It has accumulated experience of over 50 years Continuing development by several world class companies (Martin GmbH, VonRoll, Babcock Volundt, Keppels Seeger, others) Very simple operation that can be scaled to all sizes: 50-60 people can process anywhere from 100,000 to 1,000,000 tons per year.

Rhodes Environmental Park, at site of existing sanitary landfill (HYTA), will include: WTE facility Aerobic composting unit for source-separated green wastes Monofill (HYTY) for WTE ash that is not used beneficially Extension of existing HYTA Center of Environmental Education

CONCLUSIONS o If the Rhodes WTE is provided with 160,000 tons of MSW, this plant is economically feasible at a gate fee of 50 euro per ton. O For the operation of only one unit (80,000 tons) the gate fee will be 60 euro per ton. O In contrast a new HYTA that must be replaced within 10-20 years, the new WTE can continue to serve future generations at a very low cost, after the first 20 years.
