Μιχαήλ Ε. Κονταδάκης Ομότιμος καθηγητής του ΑΠΘ, του Τμήματος Αγρονόμων και Τοπογράφων Μηχανικών του Αριστοτελείου Πανεπιστημίου Θεσσαλονίκης Βιογραφικό Σημείωμα Ι. Προσωπικά Γεννήθηκε στα Χανιά Kρήτης στις 17/06/ 1944. Υιός του Εμμανουήλ και της Ευαγγελίας Κονταδάκη. Είναι παντρεμένος με την Ξανθούλα Παπαχρήστου, Δικηγόρο και Διοικητική υπάλληλο της ΕΡΤ. Έχει δύο θυγατέρες, την Ευαγγελία, Αρχιτέκτονα και την Σοφία η οποία απεβίωσε (1991). Ξένες Γλώσσες: Aγγλικά - Γερμανικά - Γαλλικά. ΙΙ. Σπουδές - Τίτλοι Έλαβε το απολυτήριο του Γυμνασίου από το Bʹ Γυμνάσιο Aρρένων Xανίων το 1962. Την ίδια χρονιά γράφτηκε μετά από επιτυχείς εισαγωγικές εξετάσεις στο Φυσικό Τμήμα της Φυσικομαθηματικής Σχολής του Aριστοτελείου Πανεπιστημίου Θεσσαλονίκης, απ όπου πήρε το πτυχίο του Φυσικού τον Nοέμβριο του 1968. Τον Σεπτέμβριο του 1976 έλαβε εκπαιδευτική άδεια από τό Πανεπιστήμιο της Θεσσαλονίκης για να μεταβεί στην Χαϊδελβέργη της Δυτικής Γερμανίας με σκοπό να παρακολουθήσει ανώτερες σπουδές στο εκεί Πανεπιστήμιο. Κατά την διάρκεια των σπουδών του στο Πανεπιστήμιο της Χαϊδελβέργης παρακολούθησε μαθήματα Αστροφυσικής και Μαθηματικής Στατιστικής για τέσσερα εξάμηνα. Παράλληλα εργαζόταν ερευνητικά στο Max-Planck Institut fuer Astronomie σαν υπότροφος της Max-Planck Gesellschaft και με βάση την εργασία του αυτή έγραψε την διδακτορική του διατριβή. Τον Νοέμβριο του 1979 αναγορεύθηκε Διδάκτορας των Φυσικών Επιστημών του Πανεπιστημίου της Χαϊδελβέργης. ΙΙΙ. Πανεπιστημιακή Υπηρεσία: 1. Το έτος 1970 υπηρετώντας την στρατιωτική του θητεία δίδαξε το μάθημα της Τηλεφωνίας και Τηλεφωνικών Μηχανημάτων στη Σχολή Αξιωματικών Διαβιβάσεων. 2. Κατά τα ακαδημαϊκά έτη 1971-76, δίδαξε τις φροντιστηριακές ασκήσεις των μαθημάτων: α) Θεωρία Σφαλμάτων και Μέθοδος Ελαχίστων Τετραγώνων και Στατιστική για τους φοιτητές του Bʹ έτους του Τμήματος Αγρονόμων και Τοπογράφων Μηχανικών της Πολυτεχνικής Σχολής A.Π.Θ. β) Στατιστική για τους φοιτητές του Γʹ έτους σπουδών του Τμήματος Αρχιτεκτόνων Μηχανικών και του Γʹ έτους σπουδών του Οικονομικού Τμήματος της Σχολής Νομικών και Οικονομικών Επιστημών του A.Π.Θ. 3. Παράλληλα κατά ακαδημαϊκά έτη 1972-73, 1973-74, 1974-75 και 1975-76 δίδαξε το μάθημα της Φυσικής στους σπουδαστές των Τμημάτων Πολιτικών Μηχανικών και Μηχανολόγων Μηχανικών της Ανώτερης Σχολής Υπομηχανικών Θεσσαλονίκης (1972-1975) και στους σπουδαστές του Τμήματος Δομικών Μηχανικών (1974-1976) της Ανώτερης Σχολής Τεχνολόγων Μηχανικών Θεσσαλονίκης. 4. Κατά το ακαδημαϊκό έτος 1978-79 εδίδαξε τις φροντιστηριακές ασκήσεις του μαθήματος Θεωρία Σφαλμάτων και Μέθοδος των Ελαχίστων Τετραγώνων για τους φοιτητές του Bʹ έτους σπουδών του Τμήματος Αγρονόμων και Τοπο- ix

Τα ακαδημαϊκά έτη 1980-81 και 1981-82 δίδαξε τις φροντιστηριακές ασκήσεις του μαθήματος Εφηρμοσμένη Γεωφυσική για τους φοιτητές του Eʹ έτους σπουδών του Τμήματος Αγρονόμων και Τοπογράφων Μηχανικών. Από το ακαδημαϊκό έτος 1983-84 και μέχρι το 2011 εδίδασκε το μάθημα Φυσικής I, Φυσικής II και Μαθηματικά I (μόνο για 1983-4), για τους φοιτητές των Αʹ και Bʹ εξαμήνου σπουδών του Τμήματος Αγρονόμων και Τοπογράφων Μηχανικών. Από το ακαδημαϊκό έτος 1996 και μέχρι το 2005 δίδαξε το μάθημα Εισαγωγή στην Ιστορία και την Φιλοσοφία της Επιστήμης και της Τεχνολογίας στους φοιτητές του 7ου εξαμήνου του Τμήματος Αγρονόμων και Τοπογράφων Μηχανικών. Με την έναρξη του Προγράμματος Μεταπτυχιακών Σπουδών του ΤΑΤΜ (ακαδημαϊκό έτος 1997-98) και μέχρι το 2006 συμμετείχε στην διδασκαλία των Μαθημάτων Μαθηματικών, Προχωρημένων Θεμάτων Στατιστικής και Εφαρμογές Διαστημικών Μεθόδων. Υπήρξε μέλος της Τριμελούς ή Επταμελούς Επιτροπής πολλών Διδακτορικών που απενεμήθηκαν από τα Τμήματα Φυσικής των Πανεπιστημίων ΚΠΑ και ΑΠΘ. VI. Ερευνητικά Ενδιαφέροντα Τα ερευνητικά του ενδιαφέροντα αφορούν διάφορες επιστημονικές περιοχές της Αστροφυσικής και της Εφηρμοσμένης Γεωφυσικής. 1) Σε ότι αφορά την Αστροφυσική έχει εργαστεί σε δύο επιστημονικές περιοχές: α) Την επίγεια Αστρική Φωτοηλεκτρική Φωτομετρία ευρείας περιοχής. (Μελέτη στο UBVRI μεταβλητών αστέρων μακράς περιόδου, Nova και Flare stars). β) Την επίγεια Αστρική Φασματοσκοπία. (Φασματική ταξινόμηση και φασματοσκοπία αστέρων με μικρή διασπορά 150-250 Α/mm). Στα πλαίσια της ερευνητικής του δραστηριότητας στην επιστημονική αυτή περιοχή συμμετείχε στην εκπόνηση των παρακάτω ερευνητικών προγραμμάτων: 1. Φωτοηλεκτρική φωτομετρία των αστέρων εκλάμψεων (1971-1981) 2. Φωτοηλεκτρική φωτομετρία εκρηκτικών αστέρων (Nova) (1975-1976) 3. Φασματοσκοπική μελέτη των Αστέρων μακράς περιόδου (Mira variable) (1976-1982) x
4. Φασματική ταξινόμηση μεταβλητών αστέρων μακράς περιόδου τύπου S. (1976-82) 5. Μελέτη περιοδικοτήτων μικράς περιόδου των αστέρων εκλάμψεων (1995- σήμερα). 6 Μελέτη των περιοδικών μεταβολών υψηλής συχνότητος της λαμπρότητας των μεταβλητών αστέρων εκλάμψεων. Διεθνές πρόγραμμα. Συντονιστής της Ελληνικής ερευνητικής ομάδας, 1998-Σήμερα. 2) Σε ότι αφορά την Εφαρμοσμένη Γεωφυσική έχει εργαστεί στην μελέτη των μεταβολών ορισμένων φυσικών παραμέτρων της Γεώσφαιρας,, της αμοιβαίας αλληλεπίδρασής των και κυρίως της πιθανής συσχέτισης των με την τεκτονική δράση (Θερμοκρασία και στάθμη των υπογείων υδάτων, Παραμόρφωση της Γήϊνης επιφανείας, Ατμοσφαιρικές παλίρροιες, μεταβολές της ιονόσφαιρας και του γεωμαγνητικού πεδίου). Στα πλαίσια της ερευνητικής του δραστηριότητας στην επιστημονική αυτή περιοχή συμμετέχει στην εκπόνηση των παρακάτω ε- ρευνητικών προγραμμάτων 1. Μελέτη της μεταβολής βασικών τινών υδρολογικών παραμέτρων σε σχέση με την σεισμικότητα σε διάφορες περιοχές της Ελλάδος. 1986-Σήμερα: Συν -συντονιστής 2. Μελέτη των μεταβολών των Ατμοσφαιρικών Θερμοβαρυντικών - Θερμικών και Βαρυντικών Παλιρροιών σε σχέση με την σεισμικότητα: Συν-συντονιστής, 1995-Σήμερα. 3. Μελέτη της μεταβολής του συνολικού ηλεκτρονιακού περιεχομένου (ΤΕC) της ιονόσφαιρας πάνω από τoν χώρο της Μεσογείου σε σχέση με την σεισμικότητα, με την βοήθεια διαστημικών μεθόδων (GPS). Συντονιστής, 2003-Σήμερα. 4. Διερεύνηση της επίδρασης των σεληνοηλιακών παλιρροιών στην εκδήλωση σεισμών στον Ελλαδικό χώρο. Συντονιστής, 2008-Σήμερα 5. Μελέτη των μεταβολών της κατώτερης ιονόσφαιρας σε σχέση με την σεισμικότητα δια της διαδόσεως VLF/LF. Διεθνές πρόγραμμα: International Network for the Frontier Research (INFREP). Συντονιστής της Ελληνικής ερευνητικής ομάδας, 2009-Σήμερα. 6. Παρακολούθηση των μεταβολών της Ατμόσφαιρας και Ιονόσφαιρας υπεράνω του ευρύτερου Ελλαδικού σε σχέση με την σεισμικότητα, με την χρήση Διαστημικών και επιγείων μεθόδων,2010. Τα αποτελέσματα των ερευνών του έχουν δημοσιευθεί σε 148 εργασίες που έχει υπογράψει ή συνυπογράψει. Επιπλέον είναι Επιστημονικός Συνεκδότης 10 πρακτικών Διεθνών Συνεδρίων και 5 Ειδικών τόμων. Έχει Οργανώσει ή Συνδιοργανώσει 19 Εθνικά και Διεθνή Επιστημονικά Συνέδρια και Συμπόσια και έχει συμμετάσχει ενεργά σε 67. xi
VII. Κοινωνική συνεισφορά 1. Υπήρξε Πρόεδρος του Διοικητικού Συμβουλίου της Μέσης Σχολής Νοσηλευτικού Προσωπικού του Νοσοκομείου ΑΧΕΠΑ, και υπό την ιδιότητα του αυτή συνέβαλε στην αναδιοργάνωση της Σχολής. 1984-1986. 2. Σαν γονέας αναπήρου παιδιού είναι μέλος της Εταιρείας Σπαστικών Βορείου Ελλάδος (ΕΣΒΕ) από το 1980 και Πρόεδρος του Διοικητικού Συμβουλίου από το 1984 έως και το 2007, με μία διακοπή (1992-1996, για προσωπικούς λόγους). Κατά το διάστημα αυτό, με την βοήθεια Ευρωπαϊκών Προγραμμάτων, η ΕΣΒΕ μετετράπη από διεκδικητικό φορέα σε Παραγωγικό παρέχοντας υπηρεσίες απασχόλησης, εκπαίδευσης και κοινωνικής και οικονομικής αποκατάστασης καθώς και φιλοξενίας ως και τελικής διαμονής ατόμων με εγκεφαλική παράλυση. Παραλλήλως, η ΕΣΒΕ είναι Πιστοποιημένο Κέντρο Επαγγελματικής Κατάρτισης (ΚΕΚ) και Πιστοποιημένο Ειδικό Κέντρο Επαγγελματικής Κατάρτισης (ΕΚΕΚ), Υπεύθυνος των οποίων μέχρι τον Ιούνιο του 2007 ήταν ο υποφαινόμενος. Υπήρξε πρόεδρος της Εκδοτικής Επιτροπής του Περιοδικού Η Διαφορά είναι Δικαίωμα. xii
Είναι μέλος της Πανελλήνιας Ένωσης Γονέων Ατόμων με ειδικές Ανάγκες (ΠΟΣΓΚΑΜΕΑ) και της Εθνικής Συνομοσπονδίας Ατόμων με Ειδικές Ανάγκες (ΕΣΑΕΑ) και υπ αυτήν του την ιδιότητα συνέβαλε στην διαμόρφωση του Ε- θνικού Νομικού Πλαισίου για τα Άτομα με Ειδικές Ανάγκες, αλλά και στην διαμόρφωση του Ευρωπαϊκού θεσμικού πλαισίου για τα ΑΜΕΑ. Υπήρξε Πρόεδρος της Τοπικής Επιτροπής των Ευρωπαϊκών Προγραμμάτων ΗΛΙΟΣ Ι και ΗΛΙΟΣ ΙΙ (1989-1994), και συμμετείχε, ως μέλος της Εθνικής Αντιπροσωπείας, στα Ευρωπαϊκά Προγράμματα ΗΟRΙΖΟΝ που διαμόρφωσαν την Ευρωπαϊκή ΧΑΡΤΑ ΑΝΘΡΩΠΙΝΩΝ ΔΙΚΑΙΩΜΑΤΩΝ ΤΩΝ ΑΜΕΑ, 1995-1998. xiii

Πρόλογος Στις 31 Αυγούστου 2011 αφυπηρέτησε από το Τμήμα Αγρονόμων και Τοπογράφων Μηχανικών (ΤΑΤΜ) ο καθηγητής Μιχάλης Κονταδάκης μετά από υπηρεσία 40 ετών στο Αριστοτέλειο Πανεπιστήμιο Θεσσαλονίκης (ΑΠΘ). Ο Μιχάλης Κονταδάκης υπηρέτησε στο Πανεπιστήμιο και το Τμήμα μας για 40 συνεχή χρόνια, από το 1971 που διορίσθηκε βοηθός στο Εργαστήριο Γεωδαιτικής Αστρονομίας της Πολυτεχνικής Σχολής του ΑΠΘ, μέχρι του Αύγουστο του 2011 που συνταξιοδοτήθηκε από τη θέση του καθηγητή του Τμήματός μας. Εκπόνησε τη διδακτορική του διατριβή στο Max-Planck Institut für Astronomie ως υπότροφος του Max-Planck Gesellschaft (1976-1978) και αναγορεύθηκε διδάκτορας των Φυσικών Επιστημών του Πανεπιστημίου της Χαϊδελβέργης το 1979. Στο Εργαστήριο Γεωδαιτικής Αστρονομίας υπηρέτησε ως βοηθός στην αρχή και επιμελητής στη συνέχεια μέχρι το 1982. Από το 1982, μετά την εφαρμογή του νομοθετικού πλαισίου 1268 για τα πανεπιστήμια της χώρας μας, εντάχθηκε σε θέση λέκτορα στον Τομέα Γεωδαισίας και Τοπογραφίας του ΤΑΤΜ και ανήλθε διαδοχικά σε όλες τις βαθμίδες της πανεπιστημιακής ιεραρχίας. Από το 1982 έως το 1984 υπηρέτησε σε θέση λέκτορα, το 1984 εκλέχθηκε σε θέση επίκουρου καθηγητή όπου παρέμεινε μέχρι το 1992, τον ίδιο χρόνο εκλέχθηκε αναπληρωτής καθηγητής και το 1996 καθηγητής πρώτης βαθμίδας. Κατά τη διάρκεια της θητείας του στο ΤΑΤΜ κάλυψε διδακτικά διάφορα προπτυχιακά μαθήματα και από το 1982 μέχρι τη συνταξιοδότησή του δίδαξε τα μαθήματα Φυσική Ι και Φυσική ΙΙ, ενώ δίδαξε και στο πρόγραμμα μεταπτυχιακών σπουδών Γεωπληροφορική του ΤΑΤΜ/ΑΠΘ. Προσέφερε επίσης διοικητικό έργο ως διευθυντής του Τομέα Γεωδαισίας και Τοπογραφίας (1993-1995). Τα ερευνητικά του ενδιαφέροντα επικεντρώνονται σε διάφορες επιστημονικές περιοχές της Αστροφυσικής και της Εφαρμοσμένης Γεωφυσικής. Στην Αστροφυσική έχει εργαστεί ερευνητικά σε δύο επιστημονικές περιοχές: α) Την επίγεια Αστρική Φωτοηλεκτρική Φωτομετρία ευρείας περιοχής (μελέτη στο UBVRI μεταβλητών αστέρων μακράς περιόδου, Nova και Flare stars). β) Την επίγεια Αστρική Φασματοσκοπία (φασματική ταξινόμηση και φασματοσκοπία αστέρων σε μικρή διασπορά 150-250 Α/mm). Στο πλαίσιο της ερευνητικής του δραστηριότητας στην επιστημονική αυτή περιοχή συμμετείχε σε ε- θνικά και διεθνή ερευνητικά προγράμματα σχετικά με την φωτοηλεκτρική φω- xix
τομετρία και τη μελέτη περιοδικοτήτων των αστέρων εκλάμψεων και Nova και την φασματοσκοπική μελέτη μεταβλητών αστέρων και αστέρων μακράς περιόδου. Στην Εφαρμοσμένη Γεωφυσική η ερευνητική του εργασία αφορά τη μελέτη των μεταβολών ορισμένων φυσικών χαρακτηριστικών της Γεώσφαιρας, της αμοιβαίας αλληλεπίδρασής τους και κυρίως της συσχέτισης με την τεκτονική δράση (θερμοκρασία και στάθμη των υπόγειων υδάτων, παραμόρφωση της επιφάνειας της γης, ατμοσφαιρικές παλίρροιες, μεταβολές της ιονόσφαιρας και του γεωμαγνητικού πεδίου). Στο πλαίσιο της ερευνητικής του δραστηριότητας στην επιστημονική αυτή περιοχή συμμετείχε στην εκπόνηση ερευνητικών προγραμμάτων ως ακολούθως: α) Μελέτη της μεταβολής βασικών υδρολογικών παραμέτρων σε σχέση με τη σεισμικότητα σε διάφορες περιοχές της Ελλάδας. β) Μελέτη των μεταβολών των Ατμοσφαιρικών Θερμοβαρυντικών - Θερμικών και Βαρυντικών Παλιρροιών σε σχέση με τη σεισμικότητα. γ) Μελέτη της μεταβολής του συνολικού ηλεκτρονιακού περιεχομένου (ΤΕC) της ιονόσφαιρας στην περιοχή της Μεσογείου σε σχέση με την σεισμικότητα με τη βοήθεια διαστημικών μεθόδων (GPS). δ) Διερεύνηση της επίδρασης των σεληνοηλιακών παλιρροιών στην εκδήλωση σεισμών στον Ελλαδικό χώρο. ε) Μελέτη των μεταβολών της κατώτερης ιονόσφαιρας σε σχέση με την σεισμικότητα μέσω της διάδοσης VLF/LF (International Network for the Frontier Research - INFREP). στ) Παρακολούθηση των μεταβολών της Ατμόσφαιρας και Ιονόσφαιρας στον ευρύτερο Ελλαδικό χώρο σε σχέση με τη σεισμικότητα μέσω δορυφορικών και επίγειων δεδομένων. Τα αποτελέσματα των ερευνών του έχουν δημοσιευθεί σε 148 εργασίες αυτοδύναμες ή σε συνεργασία με άλλους ερευνητές. Επιπλέον είναι επιστημονικός συνεκδότης 10 τόμων πρακτικών διεθνών συνεδρίων και 5 ειδικών τόμων. Έχει οργανώσει ή συνδιοργανώσει 19 εθνικά και διεθνή επιστημονικά συνέδρια και συμπόσια και έχει συμμετάσχει σε μεγάλο αριθμό συνεδρίων με επιστημονικές ανακοινώσεις. Ο καθηγητής Κονταδάκης έχει να παρουσιάσει υψηλής στάθμης ερευνητικό έργο στους τομείς της Αστρονομίας και Εφαρμοσμένης Γεωφυσικής, αναγνωρισμένο από τη διεθνή επιστημονική κοινότητα. Είχε και συνεχίζει να έχει επιστημονική συνεργασία με διάφορα ινστιτούτα και πανεπιστήμια, είναι μέλος πολλών εθνικών και διεθνών επιστημονικών Εταιρειών και Ενώσεων, κριτής και μέλος συντακτικών επιτροπών έγκυρων διεθνών επιστημονικών περιοδικών. Από το 2001 έως σήμερα είναι μέλος της συντακτικής επιτροπής του περιοδικού Natural Hazards xx
and Earth System Sciences και από το 2009 έως και σήμερα είναι μέλος της συντακτικής επιτροπής του περιοδικού Earth System Sciences Data. Η επιστημονική δραστηριότητα του καθηγητή Κονταδάκη ήταν πλούσια και επιτυχής. Το έργο του έχει αναγνωρισθεί από την ελληνική και διεθνή επιστημονική κοινότητα. Το υψηλό ακαδημαϊκό ήθος, η επιστημονική ευσυνειδησία, η εντιμότητα και συνέπεια κόσμησαν την μακρά επιστημονική του πορεία.
