It con tain s SiO 2 rang ing from 63. 1% to 68. 3%, A l2o 3 from 13. 64% to 15. 91%, T io 2 from 0. 53% to 0. 77%, and relatively h igh M go (mo stly3% ). p roducts of greyw ackeṡ In line w ith their geochem ical compo sition, they are m etamo rph ized Fo r the trace elem en ts, their to tal R EE ranges from 155ppm to 272ppm and the L R EE are en riched relative to the HR EE w ith m iddle Eu negative anom alies. NA SC no rm alized R EE pattern s of the Supute gneiss are coheren tly flat w ith in sign ifican t Ce and Eu anom alies. T heir geochem istry suggests that they are fo rm ed along an active con tinen tal m argin. Zircon s from Supute gneiss show typ ical characteristics crystallized from m agm a and a SHR IM P U 2Pb age of 282 M a.
