T he Shannon2W iener diversity index (H ), P ielous species uniform index (J ), M argalef species abundance index (d ) and M cn angh ton dom inant degree (D ) are used to conduct the num erical analysis of species diversity of invertebrate comm unity in rocky intertidal zone of Beiji Islandṡ T he results show that the biggest values of horizontal changes of H, J and d appeared near X iaoqiyu, and subsequent in H aili, Kecaiao and Guan2 dishan. iao and X iaoqiyu. T he biggest value of D appeared near Guandishan, and subsequent near H aili, Keca2 T he values of vertical changes of H, J and d are the low 2tide area > the m id2tide area > the h igh2tide area, and D is in reverse. T he values of H and J are the h igh2 est in sp ring and the low est in autum n, d is the h ighest in summ er and the low est in w inter, and D is the h ighest in autum n and the low est in sp ring. T he comm unity types of benth ic in2 vertebrates of Beiji Islands are belong to the typ ical off2shore and h igh2salty one.
