Μεταπτυχιακό Πρόγραµµα Σπουδών (ΜΠΣ) 2011-2012 Στο ΜΠΣ Ψηϕιακά Συστήµατα και ιδακτική της Τεχνολογίας για το Ακαδηµαϊκό Ετος 2011-2012 παρέδωσα τις πρώτες πέντε διαλέξεις για το µάθηµα Αξιολόγηση Επίδοσης Τηλεπικοινωνιακών Συστηµάτων (1ο Εξάµηνο) και τρεις διαλέξεις για το µάθηµα Λειτουργικά Συστήµατα και Εϕαρµογές Κινητών Τερµατικών (3ο Εξάµηνο) 2004-2009 Επίσης, κατά το Ακαδηµαϊκά Ετη 2004-2005, 2005-2006, 2006-2007, 2007-2008, 2008-2009 δίδαξα το µάθηµα : Επεξεργασία και Μετάδοση Ψηϕιακών Σηµάτων (1ο Εξάµηνο) 3
1994-1998 Telecommunications Consultant για την Comdisco (αργότερα AltaGroup). ηµιούργησα και δίδαξα εκπαιδευτικό υλικό για µαθήµατα τριών και πέντε η- µερών στα παρακάτω γνωστικά αντικείµενα : Ψηϕιακές επικοινωνίες και σχεδιασµός συστηµάτων µε τη χρήση του λογισµικού Signal Processing Worksystem (SPW). Ανάλυση και σχεδιασµός ψηϕιακών συστηµάτων 2ης και (αργότερα) 3ης Γενιάς Κινητών Επικοινωνιών, όπου γινόταν εκτενής µελέτη των ασύρµατων communications standards: GSM, IS-95 και (αργότερα) W-CDMA, όπως και εκτενής ανάλυση της προσοµοίωσης των συστηµάτων αυτών µε το λογισµικό SPW. Σχεδιασµός ψηϕιακών κυκλωµάτων µε το Hardware Design System (HDS) της Comdisco (αργότερα AltaGroup). Με αυτή την ιδιότητα, πραγµατοποίησα µεγάλο αριθµό µαθηµάτων σε διάϕορες πόλεις των Η.Π.Α. και Καναδά, για µεγάλους τηλεπικοινωνιακούς πελάτες της Comdisco, όπως Lucent, Motorola, AT&T, Nortel, Scientific Atlanta, Viasat, Harris Corporation, IBM. Spring 1998 Visiting Assistant Professor στο Department of Electrical Engineering του University of Akron, Ohio. Για το spring semester, έδωσα διαλέξεις για τα µαθήµατα : Ψηϕιακές Επικοινωνίες, του τρίτου έτους, Ασύρµατες Επικοινωνίες, του τετάρτου έτους Fall 1997 Visiting Assistant Professor στο Department of Electrical Engineering του Florida Atlantic University, Florida, USA. Για το fall semester, έδωσα διαλέξεις για τα µαθήµατα : Ψηϕιακές Επικοινωνίες, του τρίτου έτους, Επεξεργασία Ψηϕιακού Σήµατος, του τρίτου έτους 1993-1994 Teaching Assistant στο Department of Electrical Engineering του Florida Atlantic University. 4 Επαγγελµατικό Εργο Cadence Design Systems 1999-2002 Project Manager. Υπεύθυνος για το Account της Lucent και της ΑΤ&Τ σε ϑέµατα κινητών επικοινωνιών 3ης Γενιάς. Εδρα : Red Bank, NJ. Συµµετείχα σε 3GPP RAN1 WG meetings ως εκπρόσωπος της Cadence αλλά και ως µέλος της οµάδας της Lucent. Ηµουν υπεύθυνος µίας οµάδας παροχής υπηρεσιών προς τη Lucent για την ανάπτυξη base stations σύµϕωνα µε το W-CDMA standard. ηµιούργησα µεγάλο αριθµό µοντέλων προσοµοίωσης για τηλεπικοινωνιακά συστη- µάτα 3ης Γενιάς, όπου η υλοποίηση έγινε στη προγραµµατιστική γλώσσα C. Πολλά υποσυστήµατα (αλγόριθµοι) χρησιµοποιούνται στις ϐιβλιοθήκες του SPW µέχρι σή- µερα. Τα υλοποιηµένα συστήµατα προσοµοίωσης περιελάµβαναν : Practical BER performance of 3GPP systems with the use of channel estimation with multi-slot averaging; comparison between fixed weights and Lagrangian interpolation. Coded BER and FER performance of 3GPP uplink with closed loop SIR based power control utilizing DPCCH. Coded BER and FER performance of 3GPP downlink with closed loop SIR based power control utilizing the downlink pilot signal. Performance comparison between downlink STTD and non STTD for voice and data systems in the 3GPP standard. Soft handoff performance between two base stations based on SIR measurement of CPICH. RACH preamble-aich detection performance including multipath delay estimation. Rake finger management and its effect on BER and FER. CDMA2000-1xEvDv uplink and downlink systems (developed for a Motorola group; later it became a standard SPW library). 1998-1999 Μέλος της οµάδας Research and Development (R&D) της AltaGroup (πρώην Comdisco και αργότερα Cadence Design Systems, Inc.). Υπεύθυνος για τη δηµιουργία προσοµοίωσης τηλεπικοινωνιακών συστηµάτων 3G σε ϐιβλιοθήκες του λογισµικού SPW. Μερικά από τα υλοποιηµένα συστήµατα προσοµοίωσης ήταν : Acquisition Searcher for W-CDMA: 3-step fast cell search performance including mean acquisition time estimation. Design of Multipath Searcher and its Rake performance for W-CDMA systems. Μαζί µε τον Dr. Siavash Alamouti (γνωστός από τον Alamouti code του 3GPP standard) κάναµε παρουσιάσεις σε εταιρείες τηλεπικοινωνιών για τις νέες ϐιβλιο- ϑήκες IS-95 και WCDMA του λογισµικού SPW. 5
Space Communications Technology Center: ερευνητικό κέντρο του FAU 1994-1997 Research Assistant. Υπεύθυνος (µαζί µε έναν µηχανικό από τη NASA) για τη συλλογή και στατιστική επεξεργασία πειραµατικών µετρήσεων δύο σηµάτων υψηλών συχνοτήτων (beacons στα 20GHz και στα 27GHz) που λαµβάνονταν από το δορυϕόρο ACTS (Advanced Communications Technology Satellite) της NASA. ηµιούργησα πειραµατική διάταξη για την προσοµοίωση ενός κινητού δορυφορικού καναλιού (LEO satellite channel). 5 Ερευνητικά Ενδιαϕέροντα Τα ερευνητικά µου ενδιαϕέροντα είναι σε ϑέµατα σχεδιασµού και ανάλυση επίδοσης ψηϕιακών τηλεπικοινωνιακών συστηµάτων σε επίγεια και δορυϕορικά κινητά κανάλια επικοινωνίας. Ιδιαίτερα, στο γνωστικό αντικείµενο των Συστηµάτων Ψηϕιακών Επικοινωνιών, έχω αναπτύξει ερευνητική δραστηριότητα κυρίως στις παρακάτω περιοχές (αναϕέρονται ενδεικτικά κάποιες δηµοσιεύσεις ανά ερευνητική περιοχή): Αναλυτική µελέτη της επίδοσης ψηϕιακών διαµορϕώσεων µε διαϕορική λήψη (diversity reception) σε γενικευµένα µοντέλα διάδοσης για το ασύρµατο κανάλι : J-1, J-5, J-6, J-8, J-10, J-12, J-15, J-17, J-20, C-5, C-20. Αναλυτική µελέτη της επίδοσης συστηµάτων ψηϕιακών επικοινωνιών, όπως DS-CDMA, MC- CDMA, και UWB: J-2, J-3, J-7, C-10, C-12, C-23. Σχεδιασµός και προσοµοίωση νέων συστηµάτων ψηϕιακών επικοινωνιών, όπως multi-carrier orthogonal code division multiplexing (MC-OCDM) (J-9, C-11, C-13), multi-code multi-carrier CDMA (C-10), direct sequence time hopping UWB (C-12). Αναλυτική µελέτη της επίδοσης µεταγωγής καναλιού (handover performance) σε κυψελωτά δίκτυα : J-19, C-16, C-19, C-21, C-27. Νέα µοντέλα διάδοσης για το ασύρµατο κανάλι και στατιστική περιγραϕή τους : J-11, J-22, C-18, C-24. Αναλυτική µελέτη της επίδοσης δορυϕορικών ψηϕιακών συστηµάτων : J-4, J-18, C-1, C-4, C-22. Σχεδιασµός και αναλυτική µελέτη της επίδοσης συστηµάτων ασύρµατων αισθητήρων (wireless sensors): J-16, J-19, C-15, C-17, C-23.
