Taipei Representative Office Press Release Date: Jan. 16,2015 Contact person: Eugenia Yun, Press Director Tel: 210 6776750 Mobile: 6932321998 Taipei Representative Office in Greece will begin to accept Huayu Enrichiiient Scholarship applications from Feb. 1 to March 31,2015 To encourage international students to undertake Huayu (Mandarin) courses in the Republic of China (Taiwan); in order to provide them with opportunities to increase their vmderstanding of Ttdwanese culture and society, and to promote mutual imderstanding and interactions between Taiwan mid the international community, Taiwan s Ministry of Education has established the Huayu Enrichment Scholarship program. Each recipiiait will be awarded a monthly stipend o f25,000 NTD. Huayu Enrichment courses will include a summer term (June and July or July and August), alon^ with short term classes, which may last 3, 6 or 9 months to a year respectively. International applicants above the age of 18, who possess a high school diploma or above, have shown excellent academic performance, and are of good moral character are eligible. Applicants need to submit die following documents to local emb^sies or missions between February 1st and March 31 ': a. An application form. b.a photocopy of hisdier passport or any other documents that can verify the nationality of the applicant. c. A photocopy of the certificate of the highest credential and transcript. d. A photocopy of the applications to an accredited Mandarin Langu^e Center in Taiwan. e. Taipei Representative OfKce Press Release Date: Jan. 16,2015 Contact person; Eugenia Yun, Press Director Tel: 210 6776750 MobUe: 6932321998 Taipei Representative Ofiice in Greece witl begin to accept Taiwan Scholarship applications from Feb. 1 to March 31 j 2015 To encourage outstanding international students to undertake degree studies in Taiwan so as to familiarize themselves with the academic environment in Taiwan and promote communication, understanding and friendship between Taiwan and coimtries around the world, Taiwan s Ministry of Education (MOE) establishes the Tmwan Scholarship Program, awarding each recipient tuition and payment of academic fees and subsistence allowance. The maximum period of each scholarship is four years for imdergraduate programs, two years for master programs, and four years for doctorate programs. Applicants must be a foreign national with a high-school diploma or post-secondary degree(s), w th an excellent academic record.. Applicants shotild send the following document within the period specified enclosed to the nearest Taiwan Embassy or Representative Office in their country; (i) Taiwan Scholarship Appl ication Form (attachment) (ii) (iii) (iv) (v) (vi) A copy of the applicant s passport or other nationhiity certificates. A copy of the W ^ s t degree and academic transcripts. Documents in a language other than Chinese or English must be translated into Chinese or English and the translated documents must be authenticated. A copy of admission ^plication materials to universities/colleges in Taiwan (e.g., copies of application fee remittance, application form, receipt of application from universities/colleges, e-mails, etc.) A copy of a language proficiency certificate.
