ON DISTRIBUTIONS OF CERTAIN STATE DEPENDENT FRACTIONAL POINT PROCESSES K. K. KATARIA AND P. VELLAISAMY arxiv: v [ath.pr] 4 Jan 08 Abstract. We obtain the explicit expressions for the state probabilities of various state dependent fractional point processes recently introduced and studied by Garra et al. 05. The inversion of the Laplace transfors of the state probabilities of such processes is rather cubersoe and involved. We eploy the Adoian decoposition ethod to solve the difference differential equations governing the state probabilities of these state dependent processes. The distributions of soe convolutions of the Mittag-Leffler rando variables are derived as special cases of the obtained results.. Introduction The Poisson process is an iportant counting process which has applications in several fields. A characterization of the Poisson process can be given in ters of Kologorov equations. A stochastic process {Nt,λ} t 0 is said to be a Poisson process with intensity λ > 0 if the process has independent and stationary increents, and the state probabilities pn,t = Pr{Nt,λ = n} satisfy d pn,t = λpn,t pn,t, n 0,. dt with initial condition p0,0 =, and p,t = 0, t 0. The conditions p0,0 =, N0,λ = 0 a.s. and pn,0 = 0 for all n are essentially equivalent. Recently, any authors introduced various fractional generalizations of the hoogeneous Poisson process by replacing the tie derivative in difference differential equations. by various fractional derivatives such as Rieann-Liouville fractional derivative see Lasin 00, Caputo fractional derivative see Beghin and Orsingher 009, Prabhaar derivative see Polito and Scalas 06, Saigo fractional derivative see Kataria and Vellaisay 07, etc. For space fractional generalization of the classical hoogeneous Poisson process, we refer to Orsingher and Polito 0, where space fractional Poisson process SFPP, and space and tie fractional Poisson process STFPP are introduced and studied. The distributions of these generalized Poisson processes are generally obtained by evaluating the respective Laplace transfors. However, in certain cases inversion of the Laplace transfor is not at all siple. Soe recently introduced state dependent fractional point processes by Garra et al. 05 are illustrative exaples. Garra et al. 05 studied three state dependent fractional point processes, where the difference differential equations governing the state probabilities of introduced processes depend on the nuber of events that have occurred till tie t 0. Key words and phrases. state dependent fractional pure birth process; state dependent tie fractional Poisson process; tie fractional Poisson process. The research of K. K. 2 The first version of the state dependent tie fractional Poisson process SDTFPP-I {N t,λ} t 0, λ > 0, is defined as the stochastic process whose probability ass function pf p αn n,t = Pr{N t,λ = n}, satisfies see Eq.., Garra et al. 05 αn t p αn n,t = λp αn n,t p α n n,t, 0 < α n, n 0,. with p α,t = 0, t 0, and the initial conditions p αn 0,0 = and p αn n,0 = 0, n. For each n 0, t αn denotes the fractional derivative in Caputo sense which is defined as t α n f sds, 0 < α 0 t s αn n <, t αn ft :=. f t, α n =. The order of the Caputo derivative in difference differential equations. depends on the nuber of events till tie t. The Laplace transfor of the state probabilities of SDTFPP-I is given by p αn n,s = p αn n,te st λ n s α 0 dt = n, s > 0..4 sα +λ 0 The second version of the state dependent tie fractional Poisson process SDTFPP-II {N t,λ} t 0, λ > 0, is defined as the stochastic process with independent but nonidentically distributed waiting ties W n see Section, Garra et al. 05 with Pr{W n > t} = E βn λt βn, 0 < β n, where E βn. is the Mittag-Leffler function defined by Let I βn t by E βn x = x, x R..5 β n + denote the Rieann-Liouville RL fractional integral of order β n, n 0, defined I βn t ft := β n t 0 t s βn fsds. Note that β t ft = I β t f t, 0 < β <. Garra et al. 05 showed that the pf p βn n,t = Pr{N t,λ = n} of SDTFPP-II satisfies p βn n,t = p βn n,0 λi βn t p βn n,t I β n t p β n n,t, n 0,.6 with p β,t = 0, t 0, and the initial conditions p βn 0,0 = and p βn n,0 = 0, n. The Laplace transfor of the state probabilities of SDTFPP-II is given by p βn n,s = 0 p βn n,te st dt = λ n s βn n sβ +λ, s > 0..7 When α n = α and β n = β for all n 0, SDTFPP-I and SDTFPP-II reduce to the tie fractional Poisson process TFPP studied by Beghin and Orsingher 009. Further, the case α n = and β n = for all n 0, gives the classical hoogeneous Poisson process. A fractional version of the classical nonlinear birth process, naely, fractional pure birth processfpbp was introduced by Orsingher and Polito00. Garra et al. 05 studied a third fractional point process by introducing the state dependency in the difference differential equations governing the state probabilities of FPBP. The state dependent fractional pure birth process SDFPBP {Nt,λ n } t 0, λ n > 0, is defined as the stochastic process whose pf p νn n,t = Pr{Nt,λ n = n} satisfies see Eq. 4., Garra et al. 05 νn t p νn n,t = λ n p νn n,t+λ n p ν n n,t, 0 < ν n, n,.8
with p ν 0 0,t = 0, t 0, and the initial conditions p ν,0 = and p νn n,0 = 0, n. The Laplace transfor of the state probabilities of SDFPBP is given by p νn n,s = 0 p νn n,te st dt = sν n = λ n, s > 0..9 = sν +λ More recently, the sei-marovian nature of these state-dependent processes are studied in Orsingher et al. 07, and Ricciuti and Toaldo 07. They studied soe sei-marov processes and their connection with state-dependent odels. The state probabilities of SDTFPP-I, SDTFPP-II and SDFPBP can be obtained by inverting the Laplace transfors given by.4,.7 and.9 respectively. However, the inversion of the Laplace transfors is rather involved and cubersoe, as entioned in Garra et al. 05. Only the explicit expressions for p α 0 0,t and p α,t in ters of the generalized Mittag-Leffler function were obtained by the for SDTFPP-I process. In this paper, we obtain explicit expressions for the state probabilities p αn n,t, p βn n,t and p νn n,t of SDTFPP-I, SDTFPP-II and SDFPBP for all n, by using the Adoian decoposition ethod ADM. This ethod has an advantage over existing ethods in obtaining the state probabilities of such processes. We also establish soe additional results for these processes. In particular, the distributions of the convolutions of Mittag-Leffler rando variables are obtained as special cases.. Adoian decoposition ethod In this section, we briefly describe the echanis of ADM. Consider a functional equation of the for u = f +Lu+Hu,. where f is soe nown function, and L and H are linear and nonlinear operators respectively. In ADM see Adoian 986, the solution of the above functional equation is expressed in the for of an infinite series ux,t = u n x,t,. n=0 and the nonlinear ter Hu is assued to decopose as Hu = A n u 0,u,...,u n,. n=0 where A n denotes the n-th Adoian polynoial in u 0,u,...,u n. Also, the series. and. are assued to be absolutely convergent. So,. can be rewritten as u n = f + Lu n + A n u 0,u,...,u n. n=0 n=0 Thus, in accordance with ADM, u n s are obtained by the following recursive relations n=0 u 0 = f and u n = Lu n +A n u 0,u,...,u n, n..4 The only difficult but crucial step involved in ADM is the coputation of Adoian polynoials. For ore details on these polynoials we refer to Rach 984, Duan 00 and Kataria and Vellaisay 06. In the absence of the nonlinear ter Hu, the ADM can be used effectively as the recursive relationship.4 then siply reduces to u n = Lu n with u 0 = f.
Kataria and Vellaisay 07 obtained the distribution of Saigo space tie fractional Poisson process SSTFPP via ADM, which was otherwise difficult to obtain using the prevalent ethod of inverting Laplace transfor. As special case, the state probabilities of TFPP, SFPP and STFPP follow easily. Note that the functional equations corresponding to the difference differential equations.,.6 and.8 of SDTFPP-I, SDTFPP-II and SDFPBP respectively do not involve any nonlinear ter. Hence, the ADM conveniently and rapidly gives the state probabilities as the series solutions of the corresponding difference differential equations.. State dependent tie fractional Poisson process-i The state probabilities p αn n,t of SDTFPP-I can be obtained by inverting its Laplace transfor given by.4. Garra et al. 05 obtained the explicit expressions only for p α 0 0,t and p α,t, as it s difficult to obtain the state probabilities for n using the Laplace transfor ethod. Also, the distribution of SDTFPP-I can be expressed in ters of stable and inverse stable subordinators see Eq.., Garra et al. 05. Here we obtain the explicit expressions for state probabilities of SDTFPP-I via ADM. The following lea will be used see Eq...6, Kilbas et. al Lea.. Let I α t be the RL fractional integral of order α > 0. for ρ >, I α t tρ = ρ+ ρ+α+ tρ+α. Also, the following holds for RL integral and the Caputo derivative see Eq..4.44, Kilbas et. al. 006 It α α t ft = ft f0, 0 < α. In subsequent part of the paper, the set of nonnegative integers is denoted by N 0. Theore.. Consider the following difference-differential equations governing the state probabilities of SDTFPP-I: αn t p αn n,t = λp αn n,t p α n n,t, 0 < α n, λ > 0, n 0,. with p α 0 0,0 = and p αn n,0 = 0, n. The solution of. is given by p αn n,t = n =n λ t n j=0 jα j + n Θ j=0, n 0,. jα j n where Θ n = { 0,,..., n : n j=0 j =, 0 N 0, j N 0 \{0}, j n}. Proof. Applying RL integral I αn t on both sides of., we get p αn n,t = p αn n,0 λit αn p αn n,t p α n n,t, n 0.. Note that p α,t = 0 for t 0. For n = 0, substitute p α 0 0,t = pα 0 0,t in. and apply ADM to get p α 0 0,t = pα 0 0,0 λ I α 0 t p α 0 0,t. Thus, p α 0 0 0,t = p α 0 0,0 = for all t > 0 and p α 0 0,t = λiα 0 t p α 0 0,t,. Hence, p α 0 0,t = λi α 0 t p α 0 0 0,t = λi α 0 t t 0 = λtα 0 α 0 +, 4
and siilarly and etc. Let p α 0 0,t = λiα 0 t p α 0 0,t = p α 0 0,t = λtα 0 α 0 +, pα 0 0,t = λtα 0 α 0 +, p α 0 0,t = λt α 0 α λ α 0 + Iα 0 t t α 0 = λtα 0 α 0 +, 0. p α 0 0,t = and thus the result holds for n = 0. For n =, substituting p α,t = pα p α,t = pα,0 λ λt α 0 α 0 +,.5,t in. and applying ADM, we get I α t p α,t pα 0 0,t. Thus, p α 0,t = pα,0 = 0 and p α,t = λiα t p α,t pα 0 0,t,. Hence, Let p α,t = λi α t p α 0,t p α 0 0 0,t = λi α t t 0 = λ α +, p α,t = λiα t p α,t pα 0 0,t = λ t α α + + t α0+α, α 0 +α + p α,t = λi α t p α,t p α 0 0,t = λ t α p α α + +,t = λ Θ p α,t = λiα t p α,t pα 0 0,t t α0+α α 0 +α + + t 0α 0 + α t α t α0+α. α 0 +α + 0 α 0 + α +..6 = λ 0 α 0 + α +α + + α 0 +α + Θ = λ Θ p α,t = t 0α 0 + α +α t 0α 0 + α 0 α 0 + α +,. = λ Θ 5 t α0+α t 0α 0 + α 0 α 0 + α +,.7
and thus the result holds for n =. For n =, substituting p α,t = pα p α,t = pα,0 λ,t in. and applying ADM, we get I α t p α,t pα,t. Thus, p α 0,t = p α,0 = 0 and p α,t = λiα t p α,t pα,t,. Hence, p α,t = λi α t p α 0,t p α 0,t = 0, p α,t = λi α t p α,t p α,t = λi α t p α,t = λiα t p α,t pα,t = λ t α +α Let α +α + + t α+α α +α + + λtα = λ t α +α α + α +α +, t 0α 0 + α + α t α0+α+α. α 0 +α +α + p α,t = λ 0 α 0 + α + α +..8 Θ p α,t = λiα t p α,t pα,t = λ λ t 0α 0 + α + α +α 0 α 0 + α + α +α + + λ t 0α 0 + α +α 0 α 0 + α +α + Θ Θ = λ Θ t 0α 0 + α + α 0 α 0 + α + α +,. p α,t = = λ Θ and thus the result holds for n =. For n =, substituting p α,t = pα p α,t = pα,0 λ t 0α 0 + α + α 0 α 0 + α + α +,.9,t in. and applying ADM, we get I α t p α,t pα,t. Thus, p α 0,t = p α,0 = 0 and p α,t = λiα t p α,t pα,t,. Hence, p α,t = λi α t p α 0,t p α 0,t = 0, p α,t = λi α t p α,t p α,t = 0, p α,t = λi α = λi α t t p α,t p α,t λ t α +α α +α + p α 4,t = λiα t p α,t pα,t 6 = λ t α +α +α α +α +α +,

Let p α,t = pα,t in. and assue the result holds for n = >, i.e.,,t = 0, < and p α p α,t = λ Θ t j=0 jα j j=0 jα j +,. For n =, substituting p α,t = pα,t in. and applying ADM, we get p α,t = p α,0 λ I α t p α,t p α,t. Thus, p α 0,t = p α,0 = 0 and p α,t = λi α α t p,t pα,t,. Hence, Let p α,t = λi α t p α 0,t p α 0,t = 0, p α,t = λi α t p α,t p α,t = 0. p α,t = 0, <. p α,t = λi α α t p,t pα,t = 0, <. Now for, we have p α,t = λiα t p α,t pα,t 7

Let X be the first waiting tie of SDTFPP-I. the distribution of X is given by: Pr{X > t} = Pr{N t,λ = 0} = E α0 λt α 0,. where E α0. is the Mittag-Leffler function given by.5. The distribution of TFPP can be obtained as a special case of SDTFPP-I. Corollary.. Let α n = α for all n 0. p α n,t = λtα n +n! λt α, 0 < α, λ > 0, n 0,. n!! +nα+ which is the distribution of TFPP. The nuber of positive integral solutions of n = is n see Proposition 6.., Ross 00, and siilarly the nuber of positive integral solutions of n = is n. Hence, the cardinality of the set Θ n is Θ n = n + n = n. p α n,t = n! λt α n! n! α+ = λtα n +n! λt α n!! +nα+, n 0, =n and thus the proof follows. 4. State dependent tie fractional Poisson process-ii In this section, we obtain the state probabilities of SDTFPP-II, a point process constructed by Garra et al. 05 by considering independent and nonidentically distributed waiting ties. Theore 4.. Consider the following difference-differential equations governing the state probabilities of SDTFPP-II: p βn n,t = p βn n,0 λi βn t p βn n,t I β n t p β n n,t, 0 < β n, λ > 0, n 0, 4. with p β 0 0,0 = and p βn n,0 = 0, n. 11 Proof. Note that p β,t = 0 for t 0. The case n = 0 for SDTFPP-II corresponds to the case n = 0 of SDTFPP-I. Hence, on substituting p β 0 0,t = pβ 0 0,t in 4., we obtain pβ 0 0 0,t = pβ 0 0,0 = and For n =, substituting p β,t = p β 0 0,t = λtβ 0, β 0 + pβ p β,t = pβ,0 λ Thus, p β 0,t = p β,0 = 0 and p β,t = λ Hence, Let p β,t = λ p β,t = λ I β t p β 0,t I β 0 t p β 0 0 0,t = λi β 0 I β t p β,t Iβ 0 t p β 0 0,t λi β t t β 0 = λ β λiβ0 t t β 0 β 0 + p β,t = λ I β t p β,t I β 0 t p β 0 0,t = λ p β t β 0+β β 0 +β + +,t = λ Ω,t in 4. and applying ADM, we get I β t p β,t Iβ 0 t p β 0 0,t. 15 Fro the above result the Laplace transfor of the state probabilities of SDTFPP-II is obtained in the following for: p βn n,s = 0 p βn n,te st dt = n λ s 0β 0 + β + + nβ n+, using 4. = λ n =n s + n j=0 β j = λn s βn s n j=0 β j Ω n =n n= n N 0, j N 0 \{0}, 0 j n = λn s βn s β 0+β + +β n = λn s βn s β 0+β + +β n = l 0 +l + +l n= l j N 0, 0 j n n l =0 n λ n s βn n sβ +λ, λ s β + λ s β λ l 0+l + +l n λ n + n s 0 β 0 + β + + n β n + nβ n s l 0β 0 +l β + +l nβ n, l n = n, l j = j, j n l which coincides with Theore. of Garra et al. 05. Corollary 4.. Let X be the first waiting tie of SDTFPP-II. the distribution of X is given by: Pr{X > t} = Pr{N t,λ = 0} = E β0 λt β Rear 4.. The distribution of TFPP can be obtained as a special case of Theore 4. by substituting β n = β for all n 0 in 4. or in 4.0 and observing that the cardinality of Ω n is sae as that of the set Θ n, i.e., n. Further, the substitution β = gives the distribution of the classical hoogeneous Poisson process. Rear 4.. Fro the distributions of SDTFPP-I and SDTFPP-II, it is clear that these are two distinct processes as observed by Garra et al. 05 using the respective Laplace transfors. Moreover, fro. and 4., the following relationship between the state probabilities of SDTFPP-I and SDTFPP-II see Eq..4, Garra et al. 05 can be easily verified: p αn n,t = I αn α 0 t Pr{N t,λ = n}, α n α 0 > 0, D α 0 α n t Pr{N t,λ = n}, α n α 0 < 0, where D α t denotes the Rieann-Liouville RL fractional derivative which is defined by D α t ft := d dt I α t ft, 0 < α <. 5. State dependent fractional pure birth process Recently, a state dependent version of FPBP, naely SDFPBP, was introduced and studied by Garra et al. 05. They obtained the Laplace transfor of the state probabilities 5
of SDFPBP. Here we obtain the explicit expressions for state probabilities of SDFPBP using ADM. Theore 5.. Consider the following difference-differential equations governing the state probabilities of SDFPBP: t νn p νn n,t = λ n p νn n,t+λ n p ν n n,t, 0 < ν n, λ n > 0, n, 5. with p ν,0 = and p νn n,0 = 0, n. The solution of 5. is given by p νn n,t = n λ λ n where Λ n = {,,..., n : t n j= jν j n j= λ j + n j= jν j =n Λ n n j= j =, N 0, j N 0 \{0}, j n}. Proof. Applying RL integral I νn t on both sides of 5., we get j, n, 5. p νn n,t = p νn n,0+it νn λ n p νn n,t+λ n p ν n n,t, n. 5. Note that p ν 0 0,t = 0 for t 0. For n =, substitute p ν,t =,t in 5. and apply ADM to get pν p ν,t = pν,0 λ I ν t p ν,t. Thus, p ν 0,t = pν,0 = and p ν,t = λ I ν t p ν,t,. Hence, and siilarly Let p ν,t = λ I ν t p ν 0,t = λ I ν t t 0 = λ t ν ν +, p ν,t = λ I ν t p ν,t = p ν,t = λ t ν ν +, pν,t = λ t ν ν +. p ν,t = λ t ν ν λ ν + Iν t t ν = λ t ν ν +, 0. p ν,t = and thus the result holds for n =. For n =, substituting p ν,t = p ν,t = pν,0+ pν λ t ν ν +, 5.5,t in 5. and applying ADM, we get I ν t λ p ν,t+λ p ν,t. Thus, p ν 0,t = pν,0 = 0 and p ν,t = Iν t λ p ν,t+λ p ν,t,. Hence, p ν,t = I ν t λ p ν 0,t+λ p ν 0,t = λ I ν t t 0 = λ t ν ν +, 6
p ν,t = Iν = I ν t t λ p ν,t+λ p ν,t λ λ t ν ν + λ tν ν + = λ λ t ν ν + p ν,t = I ν t λ p ν,t+λ p ν,t = λ λ tν ν + + λ λ t ν+ν ν +ν + + λ tν+ν ν +ν +. Let us assue now p ν,t = Λ p ν,t = Iν t λ p ν,t+λ p ν,t = λ + λ t ν + ν +ν ν + ν +ν + + Λ = Λ p ν,t = λ λ λ + λ t ν + ν ν + ν +,. and thus the result holds for n =. For n =, substituting p ν,t = p ν,t = pν,0+ = Λ pν λ tν+ν ν +ν +, λ + λ t ν + ν ν + ν λ t ν+ν ν +ν + λ λ t ν + ν ν + ν +, 5.7,t in 5. and applying ADM, we get I ν t λ p ν,t+λ p ν,t. Thus, p ν 0,t = p ν,0 = 0 and p ν,t = Iν t λ p ν,t+λ p ν,t,. Hence, Let p ν,t = I ν t λ p ν 0,t+λ p ν 0,t = 0, λ λ t ν p ν,t = I ν t λ p ν,t+λ p ν,t = I ν t = λ λ t ν +ν ν + ν +ν +, p ν,t = Iν t λ p ν,t+λ p ν,t = λ λ λ t ν +ν ν +ν + λ λ t ν+ν ν +ν + λ λ t ν+ν+ν ν +ν +ν +. p ν,t = Iν t p ν,t = Λ λ p ν,t+λ p ν,t 7 λ + λ λ t ν + ν + ν ν + ν + ν
= Λ = Λ λ + λ λ t ν + ν + ν +ν ν + ν + ν +ν + + Λ λ + λ λ t ν + ν + ν ν + ν + ν +,. p ν,t = λ λ = Λ λ + λ t ν + ν +ν ν + ν +ν + λ λ λ t ν + ν + ν ν + ν + ν +, 5.9 and thus the result holds for n =. Let p ν,t = pν,t in 5. and assue the result holds for n = >, i.e.,,t = 0, < and p ν p ν,t = λ + Λ λ...λ λ t j= jν j,. j= jν j + For n =, substituting p ν,t = pν,t in 5. and applying ADM, we get p ν,t = p ν,0+ I ν t λ p ν,t+λ p ν,t. Thus, p ν 0,t = p ν,0 = 0 and p ν,t = I ν t λ p ν,t+λ p ν,t,. Hence, Let p ν,t = I ν t λ p ν 0,t+λ p ν 0,t = 0, p ν,t = I ν t λ p ν,t+λ p ν,t = 0. p ν,t = 0, <. p ν,t = I ν t λ p ν,t+λ p ν,t = 0, <. Now for, we have Consider next p ν,t = I ν t = I ν t = Λ = Λ p ν,t = Iν λ p ν,t+λ p ν,t Λ λ + λ λ + λ λ + λ λ t j= jν j...λ j= jν j + λ t j= jν j +ν...λ j= jν j +ν +...λ t λ p ν λ t j= jν j j= jν j + 8.,t+λ p ν,t
Let now = Λ = Λ λ + λ λ t j= jν j +ν...λ j= jν j +ν + Λ λ + λ p ν,t = + λ + Λ p ν,t = I ν t = λ + λ...λ λ t j= jν j +ν...λ j= jν j +ν + λ t j= jν j j= jν j + λ. λ t j= jν j...λ,. j= jν j + λ p ν,t+λ p ν,t Λ = Λ p ν,t = λ λ λ + λ + Λ λ + λ λ t j= jν j +ν...λ j= jν j +ν + λ + λ λ t j= jν j +ν...λ j= jν j +ν + λ t j= jν j...λ j= jν j + = Λ λ λ and thus the result holds for n =. This copletes the proof. j=,. t j= jν j...λ j= jν j +, Rear 5.. The following alternate for of the state probabilities of SDFPBP can be obtained fro 5.: n p νn n,t = λ j j t n t n j= ν j j= jν j n j= λ j j + ν + n j= j +ν j, n 0. n j=0 j= j N 0 The Laplace transfor of the state probabilities of SDFPBP can be obtained fro 5., viz., p νn n,s = 0 = n λ λ n p νn n,te st dt =n Λ n λ λ...λn n s ν + ν + + nν n+ 9
= n = λ s ν +ν + +ν n+ = sν n = λ s ν +ν + +ν n = sν n = λ s ν +ν + +ν n = sν n = λ s ν +ν + +ν n =n n= N 0, j N 0 \{0}, j n n l +l + +l n= = l j N 0, j n l =l =0 n = = sν n = λ n = sν +λ, λ s ν + λ s ν which coincides with Proposition 4. of Garra et al. 05. λ λ... λ n n s ν + ν + + n ν n n l λ, l =, l j = j, j Corollary 5.. Let Y,Y,...,Y n be n independent rando variables such that Y j follows Mittag-Leffler distribution see Cahoy et al. 00 with distribution function F Yj t = E νj λ j t ν j, where 0 < ν j, j n and ν = λ n =., the density function of the convolution W = Y +Y + +Y n is given by f W t = n λ =n t + n j= jν j n j= λ j j + + n Λ j= jν j, t 0, n where Λ n = {,,..., n : n j= j =, N 0, j N 0 \{0}, j n}. Proof. The Laplace transfor of the density of Mittag-Leffler rando variables Y j s is f Yj s = Ee sx j = s ν λ j λ j +s α j, s > 0. Hence, the Laplace transfor of the convolution is given by n n f W s = Ee sw = Ee sy j j= = λ j n j= λ, s > 0. j +s α j j= The proof follows in view of.9 and 5.. The above result coincides with Corollary. on substituting λ j =, j. For the next result we note that the first event of SDFPBP occurs at tie t = 0. Corollary 5.. Let X denote the tie of second event for SDFPBP. the distribution of X is given by: Pr{X > t} = Pr{Nt,λ = } = E ν λ t ν. 5.0 The distribution of state dependent linear birth process SDLBP can be obtained by substituting λ n = λn, n, in 5.. Corollary 5.. The pf of SDLBP is given by p νn n,t = n n =n λ Λ n 0 t n j= jν j n j= j j + n j= jν j, n.
The distribution of FPBP see Orsingher and Polito 00 can be obtained by substituting ν n = ν for all n in 5.. Corollary 5.4. The pf of FPBP is given by p ν n,t = n λ λ n =n t ν ν + Λ n n j= λ j j, n. 6. Concluding rears Recently, certain state dependent fractional point processes were considered by Garra et al. 05. They obtained the Laplace transfors for these processes, but did not provide the explicit expressions of the state probabilities. This is because inversion of those Laplace transfors are difficult. In this paper, we obtain the explicit expressions for the state probabilities of these processes using Adoian decoposition ethod. Fro the distributions obtained, we evaluate the Laplace transfor in each case and show that they coincide with the results obtained in Garra et al. 05. Soe convolutions of the Mittag-Leffler distributions are obtained as the particular cases of our results. References [] Adoian, G Nonlinear Stochastic Operator Equations. Acadeic Press, Orlando.
