B aoding Geoengineering Investigation Institute of Hebei Province, B aoding 071051, Hebei, China Through the axial comp ression test on 19 high2strength concrete colum ns w rapped w ith carbon fiber reinforced p lastics (CFRP), the influence of section shape and different confinement content on the strength and ductility of w rapped high2strength concrete column has been studied. The experim ental results indicate that the bearing capacity of circular specimens wrapped with 1 3 CFRP cloths was increased 11%, 21% and 42% com2 pared w ith the circular specim ens w ithout CFRP, and vertical deform ation was increased 23%, 271% and 330%, respectively. made based on this results.
