MSc in Energy Systems Energyis a key global issue for modern society. Major emphasis is given on the optimisation of modern energy systems Sustainability is needed to solve the wide ranging energy problems that we face today Need to increase the integration of renewable energy sources in current energy grids Confront the environmental impact of current fossil-fuel fuel power plants and their transition to cleaner energy 10
Three cutting edge specialisations 1. Energy Systems Management Financial, managerial, legal aspects of modern energy systems and introduction to current fossil and renewable energy 2. Renewable Energy Modern renewable energy technology with an introduction to the managerial/financial aspects of energy systems 3. Fossil Fuels & Environmental Protection Conventional fossil fuel technology with all the latest technological advances in energy efficiency with reduced environmental impact including managerial/financial aspects of energy systems 11
A novel course IHU performed a study on postgraduate programmes, concerning Energy Systems currently offered in South East Europe (both state and private universities) Amongst 20 examined countries,, we found that: There are only 23 postgraduate courses in topics dedicated specifically to Energy Only 4 of them are offered in English In Greece, 3 dedicated master courses exist related to energy from state universities. The other universities may offer energy related streams inside their general masters programme IHU offers a unique blend of the economical, managerial, technical and legal aspects of energy systems in a demanding 12-month programme 12
