ENGLISH GLOSSARY Airway The air passage by which air reaches the lungs. Clinician A health professional, such as a physician, licensed speechlanguage pathologist, or nurse who is involved in clinical practice. Contraindications A reason that makes it inadvisable to prescribe a particular procedure or treatment. Esophagus The muscular membranous tube for the passage of food from the pharynx to the stomach; the food pipe. Indications Reasons to prescribe a medical device or perform a procedure. Respiration The act or process of inhaling and exhaling; breathing; moving air into and out of the lungs. Also called ventilation. Respiratory Tract (laryngectomee) The air passage from the tracheostoma to the air sacs of the lungs, including the trachea, and bronchi through which air passes during breathing. 4 37602-05E
Blom-Singer HME / HumidiFilter System Trachea The airway through which respiratory air passes to and from the lungs (windpipe). Tracheoesophageal (TE) Pertaining to the trachea and esophagus. Tracheostoma An opening through the neck and into the trachea. It is through this opening that the laryngectomee breathes. Voice prosthesis A one-way speech valve that is inserted into the tracheoesophageal puncture (TEP) to allow air to pass from the trachea through the prosthesis and into the esophagus to produce sound. 37602-05E 5
BLOM-SINGER HME/HUMIDIFILTER SYSTEM INDICATIONS The Blom-Singer HME/HumidiFilter system is designed to provide the laryngectomee with humidified, warmed, and filtered air. The Blom-Singer HME/HumidiFilter system may be used by laryngectomees: esophageal speakers, electrolarynx users, and tracheoesophageal voice prosthesis users. CONTRAINDICATIONS The HME/HumidiFilter system should not be placed over a tracheostomal airway if its presence obstructs respiration. HOW SUPPLIED The Blom-Singer products for HME are available in several non sterile options: as a HME Cartridge, a preassembled, daily, one time use, disposable device in a package of 30 HME Cartridges; as a HumidiFilter Holder with HumidiFilter foam filters that requires assembly and is reusable (replacement HumidiFilter foam filters available separately); and as an ATSV II HumidiFilter Cap with ATSV II HumidiFilter Cap foam filters for ATSV II hands-free device users that requires assembly and is reusable (replacement ATSV II HumidiFilter foam filters are available separately). Attachment of the HME/HumidiFilter system to the tracheostoma can be achieved through the use of a laryngectomy tube, button or tracheostoma housing, supplied separately. 6 37602-05E
Blom-Singer HME / HumidiFilter System PRODUCT DESCRIPTION Blom-Singer HME System Preassembled Onetime use Use with Tracheostoma Housing 24 hr HME Cartridge Blom-Singer HumidiFilter Holder ATSV II HumidiFilter Cap HumidiFilter Foam Filters HME Cartridge The HME Cartridge (diagram 1) is a daily-disposable device, designed for one-time use, that comes fully assembled and attaches to a Tracheostoma Housing (TruSeal style Adhesive Housings recommended). It contains a HumidiFilter foam filter for heat and moisture exchange (top view, diagram 1A-a); an EasyTouch speech button (top view, diagram 1A-b) that is depressed to occlude the stoma for talking; a MucusShield occluder (bottom view, diagram 1B-a) to protect the HumidiFilter from mucus secretions and provide an adequate seal (occlusion) for speech; a finger-lip (side view, diagram 1C-a) for ease of removal of the HME Cartridge from the tracheostoma housing for coughing or cleaning. Front and side airflow vents maximize airflow (side view, diagram 1C-b). HumidiFilter Holder The HumidiFilter Holder (diagram 4) is a reusable, lightweight plastic holder that holds a HumidiFilter foam filter (diagram 5) and attaches to a tracheostoma housing. ATSV II HumidiFilter Cap The ATSV II HumidiFilter Cap (diagram 7) is a reusable, twist-on plastic cap that holds a HumidiFilter foam filter and fits over the Blom-Singer Adjustable Tracheostoma Valve (ATSV II) hands-free device. Assembly required. HUMIDIFILTER FOAM FILTERS The disposable, one-time use HumidiFilter foam filter (diagram 5) helps to create the exchange for heat and moisture. It is treated with a special salt to hold heat and moisture. Consult with your physician as individual reactions to this material may occur. WARNINGS AND PRECAUTIONS Freudenberg Medical relies on the qualified, trained medical professional to instruct patients on the use and care of this device and to provide patients with the instructions for use supplied with the product. These devices should only be used by individuals who have received proper training in the effective management and care of Blom-Singer tracheostomal prosthetic devices. Management includes, but is not limited to, handling of the device, dislodgement of the device, and cleaning of the device. These products are intended for use by a single patient only. Note: the HME Cartridge may be used only once by one patient. It may not be reused. There is a risk of infection if the device is reused. If there are tears, cracks, or structural damage to the device, discontinue use. Extreme care should be used to avoid adhesive, adhesive remover, protective skin barrier or fumes from entering the tracheostoma. The following complications have been identified to occur with devices of this type, but are infrequent. They include: stoma contamination or infection which may require use of appropriate antibiotics; 8 37602-05E
Blom-Singer HME / HumidiFilter System skin irritation around the stoma; labored breathing, which may occur if the HumidiFilter foam filter is clogged or if the HME Cartridge/foam filter is not changed regularly. Breathing If breathing through your HME is unexpectedly difficult, remove the HME and consult your medical professional for assistance. When you begin using the Blom-Singer HME device, a slight increase in airflow resistance will be felt. This resistance is a normal function of the HME device that may require a period of time to adjust to the resistance. Coughing It is highly recommended that the HME Cartridge, HumidiFilter Holder and ATSV II with HumidiFilter Cap be removed prior to coughing. To remove the HME Cartridge, hold down the housing with one hand while grasping the finger-lip (diagram 1C-a) on the HME Cartridge with your other hand. Pull the HME Cartridge carefully until it releases from the housing. Be careful not to separate the housing from the skin, which will cause air leakage around the stoma. To remove the HumidiFilter Holder, hold down the housing with one hand while pulling the unit carefully until it releases from the housing. Be careful not to separate the housing from the skin, which will cause air leakage around the stoma. To remove the ATSV II and HumidiFilter Cap assembly, hold down the housing with one hand while pulling the unit carefully until it releases from the housing. Be careful not to separate the housing from the skin, which will cause air leakage around the stoma. Cleaning Do not use solvents or petroleum-based products for cleaning the device. These materials may damage the device. The HME Cartridge is designed for 24-hour use and is not 37602-05E 9
designed to be disassembled, cleaned, reassembled and reused. If the HME Cartridge should become heavily soiled, remove it and replace it with a new HME Cartridge. If mucus is cleaned from the HME Cartridge or HumidiFilter Holder/ATSV II HumidiFilter Cap, never use facial or toilet tissue to dry it as particles of lint or fabric may be deposited onto the device that can be inhaled into the airway upon reinsertion. Do not wash the specially treated HumidiFilter foam filter. It is designed for single use only; do not reuse. Reuse of this device could result in infection. HumidiFilter Holder/ATSV II HumidiFilter Cap: Never clean the HumidiFilter Holder/ATSV II HumidiFilter Cap, or replace the HumidiFilter foam filter while the device is in position in the neck. Always clean the HumidiFilter Holder/ATSV II HumidiFilter Cap, or replace the HumidiFilter foam filter, after the device has been removed from the stoma. The HumidiFilter foam filter should be replaced daily. Device Handling Always handle the devices with clean hands. Be sure to wash hands after handling the HumidiFilter as it contains substances that may be irritating to skin and eyes. The package containing the HME Cartridges and HumidiFilter foam filters must be resealed after every opening to preserve the effectiveness of the HumidiFilter. HME/ DAILY USE AND CARE INSTRUCTIONS Please refer to the diagrams located at the back of this instruction manual. Your clinician will instruct you on the routine use and care of the Blom-Singer HME device. Care should be exercised when inserting or removing HME devices to avoid accidental displacement of the voice prosthesis which could result in aspiration (inhalation) of the prosthesis. In the unlikely event that this should occur, you should attempt to 10 37602-05E
Blom-Singer HME / HumidiFilter System cough the voice prosthesis out of the windpipe. Immediately seek medical attention if unsuccessful. The HME device and user s hands should always be thoroughly clean to prevent contaminants from entering into the tracheostoma, puncture, or esophagus. Removal and attachment of any devices worn over the tracheostoma should only be done with the user positioned in front of a mirror with a bright light focused directly on the stoma. A properly attached HME/HumidiFilter system provides an airtight seal around the stoma. Before inserting an HME device, a Blom-Singer Tracheostoma Valve Housing must first be attached to the skin surrounding the tracheostoma. Follow the attachment steps described in the Blom-Singer Tracheostoma Valve Housings Instructions For Use provided with the product. The following procedural instructions are provided by Eric D. Blom, Ph.D. HME Cartridge The disposable HME Cartridge is designed for daily, one-time use. The HME Cartridge should be replaced at least once a day to maintain proper function of the HME system. Before inserting an HME Cartridge apply a Blom-Singer tracheostoma housing (TruSeal style adhesive housing recommended) to the tracheostomal skin according to product instructions. Verify that the housing is providing an airtight seal around the stoma. 1. With clean hands remove an HME Cartridge from its packaging. Always reseal the package containing the HME Cartridges after every opening to preserve the effectiveness of the HumidiFilters. Should your hands come in contact with the HumidiFilter, be sure to wash them as it contains substances that may be irritating to skin and eyes. Inspect the HME Cartridge for any structural damage such as cracks or tears; do not use a device that is damaged. Press down on the top of the speech button to test that it is fully functional. The speech button should depress when held 37602-05E 11
down with a finger and then instantly return to its open, breathing position when released (diagram 3). 2. Insert the HME Cartridge into the previously applied tracheostoma housing and gently push the HME Cartridge until it snaps into place (diagram 2). A properly inserted HME Cartridge will sit flush and fit snugly inside the housing. If breathing through your HME is unexpectedly difficult, remove the HME and consult your medical professional for assistance. When you begin using the HME, a slight increase in airflow resistance will be felt. However, this resistance is a normal function of the device that may initially require a period to adjust to the resistance. The HME Cartridge also contains side and top airflow vents to maximize airflow for easy breathing and prevent breathing obstruction. 3. Tracheoesophageal speech is produced by pressing down on the EasyTouch speech button (diagram 3a) with minimal, manual force so that it closes to enable voicing. The fingertip tactile response is immediate. You will feel the speech button completely close. Upon manual release, the EasyTouch speech button instantly returns to its open, breathing position (diagram 3b). Users of other voicing methods should follow the voicing instructions provided by their medical professional. HumidiFilter Holder The HumidiFilter Holder is designed for repeated use. The HumidiFilter foam filter must be replaced daily to maintain proper function of the HumidiFilter system. A properly attached HME/HumidiFilter system provides a seal around the stoma. Before inserting an HME device, a laryngectomy tube, button or tracheostoma housing must first be placed in or around the tracheostoma according to product instructions. HumidiFilter Holder Assembly 1. With clean hands remove the HumidiFilter Holder and HumidiFilter foam filter from its packaging. Always reseal the package containing the HumidiFilter foam filters after every 12 37602-05E

Inspect the HumidiFilter Holder for any structural damage, such as cracks or tears; do not use a device that is damaged. 2. Insert the HumidiFilter foam filter into the holder. The HumidiFilter should lie flat in the holder (diagram 6). Be sure to wash hands after handling the HumidiFilter as it contains substances that may be irritating to skin and eyes. 3. Insert the assembled HumidiFilter Holder into the previously applied tracheostoma housing and gently push the holder until it snaps into place. A properly inserted HumidiFilter Holder will sit flush and fit snugly inside the housing. You should be able to breathe normally through the HumidiFilter. A slight increase in airway resistance will be felt. Tracheoesophageal speech is produced by temporarily blocking the stoma with a finger or thumb. Users of other voicing methods should follow the voicing instructions provided by their medical professional. Removal and Cleaning Remove the HumidiFilter Holder from the tracheostoma housing. Pull the HumidiFilter foam filter out with forceps and discard. Retain the HumidiFilter Holder for repeated use. The HumidiFilter Holder should be cleaned with mild soap and warm water on a regular basis and rinsed with water. It should be dried with a lint-free material or air-dried. Never use facial or toilet tissue to dry the HumidiFilter Holder as particles of lint or fabric may be deposited onto the device that can be inhaled into the airway upon reinsertion. Never clean the HumidiFilter Holder while the HumidiFilter System is in position in the neck. Always clean the HumidiFilter Holder after the Holder has been removed from the tracheostoma housing. Sleeping The HumidiFilter Holder must be removed before sleeping in order to avoid the potential for airway obstruction. Replacing Foam filters First, remove the HumidiFilter Holder from the tracheostoma housing. Pull the HumidiFilter out with forceps and discard. Refer 37602-05E 13
to HumidiFilter Holder assembly instructions. Do not wash the specially treated foam filter! It is designed for single use only. Be sure to wash hands after handling the HumidiFilter as it contains substances that may be irritating to skin and eyes. The HumidiFilter should be replaced daily. Never replace the HumidiFilter while the HumidiFilter System is in position in the neck. Always replace the HumidiFilter after the holder has been removed from the tracheostoma housing. ATSV II HumidiFilter Cap The ATSV II HumidiFilter Cap is designed for repeated use. The HumidiFilter foam filter must be replaced daily to maintain proper function of the HumidiFilter system. Before inserting an ATSV II HumidiFilter Cap apply a Blom-Singer tracheostoma housing to the tracheostomal skin according to product instructions. Verify that the housing is providing an airtight seal around the stoma. ATSV II HumidiFilter Cap Assembly 1. With clean hands remove the ATSV II HumidiFilter Cap and HumidiFilter foam filter from its packaging. Always reseal the package containing the HumidiFilter foam filters after every opening to preserve the effectiveness of the HumidiFilters. Inspect the ATSV II HumidiFilter Cap for any structural damage, such as cracks or tears; do not use a device that is damaged. 2. Insert the HumidiFilter foam filter (diagram 8a) under the crossbar (diagram 8b) of the ATSV II Diaphragm/Faceplate so that one of the slits on the filter is lined up with one end of the crossbar. Pull the HumidiFilter through so that the second slit is lined up with the opposite end of the crossbar. Be sure to wash hands after handling the HumidiFilter as it contains substances that may be irritating to skin and eyes. 3. Place the ATSV II HumidiFilter Cap (diagram 8c) over the crossbar (diagram 8b) and rotate counterclockwise to lock it into position. 4. You should be able to breathe normally through the device. A slight increase in airway resistance may be felt. If breathing is not easy, remove the HumidiFilter Cap and replace the HumidiFilter foam if necessary. Refer to the Adjustable Tracheostoma Valve, User Instructions For Use manual, for complete instructions on how to properly use the ATSV II for hands-free speech. Αναπνοή Εάν η αναπνοή μέσα από το σύστημα HME γίνεται με αναπάντεχη δυσκολία, αφαιρέστε το σύστημα ΗΜΕ και απευθυνθείτε στον ιατρό σας για βοήθεια. Όταν ξεκινήσετε να χρησιμοποιείτε τη συσκευή HME της Blom- Singer, θα αισθανθείτε μία μικρή αύξηση της αντίστασης της ροής του αέρα. Προσέξτε να μη διαχωρίσετε το περίβλημα από το δέρμα, κάτι που θα προκαλέσει διαρροή αέρα γύρω από τη στομία. Για να αφαιρέσετε τη διάταξη ATSV II με Πώμα HumidiFilter, κρατήστε προς τα κάτω το περίβλημα με το ένα χέρι ενώ τραβάτε τη μονάδα προσεκτικά μέχρι να απελευθερωθεί από το περίβλημα. Προσέξτε να μη διαχωρίσετε το περίβλημα από το δέρμα, κάτι που θα προκαλέσει διαρροή αέρα γύρω από τη στομία. Καθαρισμός Μη χρησιμοποιείτε διαλύτες ή προϊόντα με βάση το πετρέλαιο για τον καθαρισμό της συσκευής. Αυτές οι ουσίες ενδέχεται να καταστρέψουν τη συσκευή. Η Κασέτα HME έχει σχεδιαστεί για 24-ωρη χρήση και δεν έχει σχεδιαστεί για να αποσυναρμολογείται, να καθαρίζεται, να επανασυναρμολογείται και να επαναχρησιμοποιηείται. Εάν η Κασέτα HME λερωθεί πολύ, αφαιρέστε την και αντικαταστήστε την με μια καινούρια κασέτα HME. Για να καθαρίσετε τη βλέννη από την Κασέτα HME ή την Υποδοχή HumidiFilter /ATSV II με Πώμα HumidiFilter, μη χρησιμοποιείτε ποτέ χαρτομάντιλα ή χαρτί υγείας για να τα στεγνώσετε, καθώς ενδέχεται να γίνει εναπόθεση σωματιδίων ινών ή υφάσματος στη συσκευή, τα οποία μπορεί να εισπνευθούν στις αεροφόρους οδούς κατά την επανεισαγωγή. Σύστημα Blom-Singer HME / HumidiFilter HumidiFilter ή αντικαθιστάτε το φίλτρο αφρού HumidiFilter ενώ η συσκευή βρίσκεται τοποθετημένη στον λαιμό. Να καθαρίζετε πάντα την Υποδοχή HumidiFilter/ATSV II με Πώμα HumidiFilter ή να αντικαθιστάτε το φίλτρο αφρού HumidiFilter, αφού η συσκευή έχει αφαιρεθεί από τη στομία. Το φίλτρο αφρού HumidiFilter θα πρέπει να αντικαθίσταται καθημερινά. Χειρισμός συσκευής Πάντα να χειρίζεστε τις συσκευές με καθαρά χέρια. Φροντίστε να πλένετε τα χέρια σας μετά το χειρισμό του φίλτρου HumidiFilter επειδή περιέχει ουσίες που μπορεί να προκαλέσουν ερεθισμό στο δέρμα και τα μάτια. Η συσκευασία που περιέχει τις κασέτες HME και τα φίλτρα αφρού HumidiFilter πρέπει να σφραγίζεται αεροστεγώς μετά από κάθε άνοιγμα, ώστε να διατηρείται η αποτελεσματικότητα του HumidiFilter. HME/ΟΔΗΓΙΕΣ ΚΑΘΗΜΕΡΙΝΗΣ ΧΡΗΣΗΣ ΚΑΙ ΦΡΟΝΤΙΔΑΣ Παρακαλούμε να ανατρέξετε στα διαγράμματα που βρίσκονται στο πίσω μέρος του παρόντος εγχειριδίου οδηγιών. Ο ιατρός σας θα σας καθοδηγήσει ως προς την τακτική χρήση και φροντίδα της συσκευής ΗΜΕ Blom-Singer. Πρέπει να είστε προσεκτικοί όταν εισάγετε ή αφαιρείτε τη συσκευή HME για να αποφύγετε την τυχαία μετατόπιση της φωνητικής πρόθεσης, η οποία θα μπορούσε να επιφέρει την εισρόφηση (εισπνοή) της πρόθεσης. Η αφαίρεση και η προσάρτηση οποιασδήποτε συσκευής που τοποθετείται πάνω από την τραχειοστομία πρέπει να γίνεται μόνο ενώ ο χρήστης βρίσκεται μπροστά σε καθρέφτη και πέφτει δυνατό φως απευθείας πάνω στη στομία. 37602-05E 27
Ένα σωστά προσαρτημένο Σύστημα HME/HumidiFilter παρέχει αεροστεγές κλείσιμο γύρω από τη στομία. Πριν την εισαγωγή μιας συσκευής HME, πρέπει να προσαρτηθεί πρώτα ένα περίβλημα βαλβίδας τραχειοστομίας Blom-Singer στο δέρμα που περιβάλλει την τραχειοστομία. Ακολουθήστε τα βήματα προσάρτησης, τα οποία περιγράφονται στις οδηγίες χρήσης περιβλήματος βαλβίδας τραχειοστομίας Blom-Singer που παρέχονται μαζί με το προϊόν. Οι ακόλουθες διαδικαστικές οδηγίες παρέχονται από τον Eric D. Blom, Ph.D. Κασέτα HME Η αναλώσιμη κασέτα HME είναι σχεδιασμένη για άπαξ, καθημερινή χρήση. Η κασέτα ΗΜΕ πρέπει να αντικαθίσταται τουλάχιστον μία φορά την ημέρα, ώστε να διατηρείται η καλή λειτουργία του συστήματος ΗΜΕ. Πριν την εισαγωγή της Κασέτας HME, τοποθετήστε ένα περίβλημα τραχειοστομίας Blom-Singer (συνιστώνται τα αυτοκόλλητα περιβλήματα τύπου TruSeal) στο δέρμα γύρω από την τραχειοστομία σύμφωνα με τις οδηγίες του προϊόντος. Επιβεβαιώστε ότι το περίβλημα παρέχει αεροστεγή σφράγιση γύρω από τη στομία. 1. Με καθαρά χέρια αφαιρέστε την Κασέτα HME από τη συσκευασία της. Πάντα να ξανασφραγίζετε τη συσκευασία με τις Κασέτες ΗΜΕ μετά από κάθε άνοιγμα, ώστε να διατηρείται η αποτελεσματικότητα των φίλτρων HumidiFilters. Σε περίπτωση που τα χέρια σας έρθουν σε επαφή με το φίλτρο HumidiFilter πρέπει να τα πλύνετε, επειδή περιέχει ουσίες που μπορεί να προκαλέσουν ερεθισμό στο δέρμα και τα μάτια. Έλέγξτε εάν η Κασέτα ΗΜΕ έχει υποστεί οποιαδήποτε δομική ζημιά όπως ρωγμές ή σχισίματα. Μη χρησιμοποιήσετε μια συσκευή που έχει υποστεί ζημιά. Πιέστε προς τα κάτω το κουμπί ομιλίας για να ελέγξετε ότι είναι πλήρως λειτουργικό. Εάν η αναπνοή μέσα από το σύστημα HME γίνεται με αναπάντεχη δυσκολία, αφαιρέστε το σύστημα ΗΜΕ και απευθυνθείτε στον ιατρό σας για βοήθεια. Όταν ξεκινήσετε να χρησιμοποιείτε το HME, θα αισθανθείτε μία μικρή αύξηση της αντίστασης της ροής του αέρα. Ωστόσο, αυτή η αντίσταση είναι μια φυσιολογική λειτουργία της συσκευής HME που μπορεί να απαιτήσει ένα χρονικό διάστημα προσαρμογής στην αντίσταση. Κατά την χειροκίνητη απελευθέρωση, το κουμπί ομιλίας EasyTouch επιστρέφει στιγμιαία στην ανοιχτή θέση αναπνοής (διάγραμμα 3b). Οι χρήστες άλλων μεθόδων παραγωγής φωνής θα πρέπει να ακολουθούν της οδηγίες που παρέχονται από τον ιατρό τους. Υποδοχή HumidiFilter Η Υποδοχή HumidiFilter είναι σχεδιασμένη για επαναλαμβανόμενη χρήση. Το φίλτρο αφρού HumidiFilter πρέπει να αντικαθίσταται καθημερινά, ώστε να διατηρείται η σωστή λειτουργία του συστήματος HumidiFilter. Το σωστά προσαρτημένο σύστημα HME/HumidiFilter παρέχει σφράγισμα γύρω από τη στομία. Πριν την εισαγωγή μίας συσκευής HME, πρέπει να προσαρτηθεί πρώτα σωλήνας λαρυγγεκτομής, κουμπί ή περίβλημα τραχειοστομίας εντός ή γύρω από την τραχειοστομία σύμφωνα με τις οδηγίες για το προϊόν. 37602-05E 29

Πάντα να ξανασφραγίζετε τη συσκευασία με τα φίλτρα αφρού HumidiFilter μετά από κάθε άνοιγμα, ώστε να διατηρείται η αποτελεσματικότητα των φίλτρων HumidiFilters. Εισαγάγετε το φίλτρο αφρού HumidiFilter μέσα στην υποδοχή. Το HumidiFilter πρέπει να τοποθετηθεί σε οριζόντια θέση μέσα στην υποδοχή (διάγραμμα 6). Φροντίστε να πλένετε τα χέρια σας μετά τον χειρισμό του φίλτρου HumidiFilter επειδή περιέχει ουσίες που μπορεί να προκαλέσουν ερεθισμό στο δέρμα και τα μάτια. 3. Εισαγάγετε τη συναρμολογημένη Υποδοχή HumidiFilter στο ήδη τοποθετημένο περίβλημα τραχειοστομίας και πιέστε απαλά την υποδοχή μέχρι να ασφαλιστεί στη θέση της. Μια Υποδοχή HumidiFilter που έχει εισαχθεί σωστά θα βρίσκεται στο ίδιο επίπεδο και θα εφαρμόζει καλά εντός του περιβλήματος. Πρέπει να μπορείτε να αναπνέετε κανονικά μέσω του HumidiFilter. Θα αισθανθείτε μια μικρή αύξηση της αντίστασης στη ροή του αέρα. Η τραχειοοισοφαγική ομιλία παράγεται αποφράσσοντας προσωρινά τη στομία με ένα δάχτυλο ή τον αντίχειρα. Οι χρήστες άλλων μεθόδων παραγωγής φωνής πρέπει να ακολουθούν της οδηγίες που παρέχονται από τον ιατρό τους. Αφαίρεση και καθαρισμός Αφαιρέστε την Υποδοχή HumidiFilter από το περίβλημα της τραχειοστομίας. Τραβήξτε έξω το φίλτρο αφρού HumidiFilter με λαβίδα και απορρίψτε το. Διατηρήστε την Υποδοχή HumidiFilter για επαναλαμβανόμενη χρήση. Η Υποδοχή HumidiFilter θα πρέπει να καθαρίζεται με ήπιο σαπούνι και ζεστό νερό σε τακτική βάση και να ξεπλένεται με νερό. Διάταξη πώματος ATSV II HumidiFilter 1. Με καθαρά χέρια αφαιρέστε το Πώμα ATSV II HumidiFilter και το φίλτρο αφρού HumidiFilter από τη συσκευασία τους. Πάντα να ξανασφραγίζετε τη συσκευασία με τα φίλτρα αφρού HumidiFilter μετά από κάθε άνοιγμα, ώστε να διατηρείται η αποτελεσματικότητα των φίλτρων HumidiFilters. Ελέγξτε εάν το Πώμα ATSV II HumidiFilter έχει υποστεί οποιαδήποτε δομική ζημιά, όπως ρωγμές ή σχισίματα. Μη χρησιμοποιήσετε μια συσκευή που έχει υποστεί ζημιά. 2. Φροντίστε να πλένετε τα χέρια σας μετά το χειρισμό του φίλτρου HumidiFilter επειδή περιέχει ουσίες που μπορεί να προκαλέσουν ερεθισμό στο δέρμα και τα μάτια. 3. Τοποθετήστε το Πώμα ATSV II HumidiFilter (διάγραμμα 8c) πάνω από την κάθετη ράβδο (διάγραμμα 8b) και περιστρέψτε αριστερόστροφα ώστε να ασφαλιστεί στη θέση του. 4. Εισαγάγετε το συναρμολογημένο Πώμα ATSV II/HumidiFilter στο ήδη τοποθετημένο περίβλημα τραχειοστομίας και πιέστε απαλά τη μονάδα μέχρι να ασφαλιστεί στη θέση της. Ένα Πώμα ATSV II/HumidiFilter που έχει εισαχθεί σωστά ταιριάζει απόλυτα μέσα στο περίβλημα (διάγραμμα 9). Θα πρέπει να μπορείτε να αναπνέετε κανονικά μέσω της συσκευής. Ενδέχεται να αισθανθείτε μια μικρή αύξηση της αντίστασης στη ροή του αέρα. Εάν η αναπνοή δεν γίνεται με ευκολία, αφαιρέστε το Πώμα HumidiFilter και αντικαταστήστε το φίλτρο αφρού HumidiFilter εφόσον απαιτείται.
