Experts Index She is a member of the Cambridge University Hospitals team for aggressive bladder cancer (Bladder Oncology Service). She trained at the University of Leicester, and trained in Surgery and Urology in Leicester, Nottingham, Derby, and at the University of Toronto, before she started as a consultant at Addenbrooke s in 2011. Gerasimos Alivizatos He is a graduate of McGill University in Montreal, Canada (Bachelor of Science). Graduated from the Medical Faculty of the University of Athens in 1984 and in 1992 acquired the title of the specialty of Urology. He was also trained for a year in Nijmegen, Holland by the Onassis Foundation scholarship (Prof. F. Debruyne). He served in 2 nd Department of Urology, University of Athens, Sismanoglio General Hospital from 1994 until 2008, when he retired with the rank of Associate Professor. Since September 2008 he is the director of the 3 rd Urological Department at Hygeia Hospital. He has participated in four international multicentre studies and has been invited as a speaker at 29 international conferences. Athanasios Papatsoris He studied medicine at the University of Patras, where he received a postgraduate diploma specialization (MSc) in applications of basic medical sciences (Pathobiochemistry). He acquired the title of the specialty of Urology at the 2 nd Department of Urology, University of Athens, Sismanoglio General Hospital and his PhD in Athens Medical School. In 2007, he became Fellow of the European Board of Urology and is now examiner for candidates FEBU. He had a two years training in Endourology in London and became a Fellow in Endourology on 2009. Also, with a scholarship from the European Association of Urology he went to the Du Pre, at Le Mans in France. In 2009 he became a Lecturer of Urology at Athens Medical School and has since been working in the 2 nd Department of Urology, in Sismanoglio General Hospital. Since 2011, he is an instructor at IRCAD / EITS in Strasbourg, France. He, also, is a member of the Committee of Young Academic Urology Working Party and the EAU section of Urolithiasis. In 2013 he became an Assistant Professor of Urology at Athens Medical School. He studied medicine at the University of Ioannina, Greece and took his specialty in the 2nd Department of Urology, University of Athens, where he received his PhD. His postgraduate studies were in Laparoscopic Urology and Endourology of the Urinary Tract in the Urological Department of the University of Newcastle upon Tyne, UK. On his return to Greece he was appointed Lecturer in Urology and then progresses to Assistant Professor in the University of Athens where he works until today. His research work is on the Oncology Urogenital System, the Gritty Urinary, the BPH, Endourology and Laparoscopic Urology. He is Chairman of the Endourology Department of the European Society of Ourotechnology, member of the group of clinical guidelines for Urolithiasis of the European Association of Urology and member of the Audit Committee of the American clinical trials Endourology Society. John Varkarakis He graduated from the Athens Medical School (1993). He completed his training in urology at the 2 nd Department of Urology in Sismanoglio General Hospital and in 2001 acquired the title of specialty and received his doctorate from the University of Athens. In July 2001 started retraining at Johns Hopkins Hospital, The Brady Urological Institute, USA. Then in July 2002 he went to Innsbruck in Austria where as Clinical Fellow in Advanced Laparoscopy continued his education at laparoscopic surgery. In June 2003 he returned to Johns Hopkins Hospital, U.S. As Research fellow he had the opportunity to deal with two years research in many areas of the urologic oncology. Since December 2008 he serves as Assistant Professor at the 2 nd Department of Urology, Athens Medical School, Sismanoglio General Hospital.
