14th IASL Congress Message of the Organizing Committee Ladies and Gentlemen, Sports Law nowadays has been acknowledged as an academic subject of research and teaching in Law Schools, Schools of Sports Science and Organization and Administration of Sports in many countries. Sports Law is also developing in the field of law practicing all over the world and a great number of lawyers and sport officials deal with the every-day praxis in the field of sports law. The normal function of sporting activity and the international sporting relations in the international sporting scene can therefore be achieved. The field of study of the discipline of Sports Law consists of the problems related to the application of the special regulations of the sports legal order. Lex Sportiva and Sports Jurisdiction are the two concepts which define the field of action of Sports Law, the relevant jurisdiction, the applicable law and the notion of judicial control in the sporting scene. The 1st International Conference of Sports Law was held in Athens in 1992, when IASL was also founded, which today becomes 16 years old and organizes this 14th International Conference of Sports Law together with the Hellenic Center of Research on Sports Law. The topics of this Conference are to be divided into four theme units: Sports Legislation and Sport, Professional Sports, Human Rights in the Sporting Activity and Sports Jurisdictional Order and will be presented by specialist guests, scholars and researchers from around the world. On behalf of the Organizing Committee we welcome you all to the 14th IASL International Conference of Sports Law. We would also like to express our deepest thanks to the Rector of the University of Athens, Prof. Christos Kittas for the continuous assistance of the University in organizing this Conference. 14o Συνέδριο IASL Μήνυμα της Οργανωτικής Επιτροπής Κυρίες και Κύριοι Σύνεδροι, Το Αθλητικό Δίκαιο σήμερα έχει καταστεί πλέον αντικείμενο έρευνας και διδασκαλίας σε ακαδημαϊκό επίπεδο ως γνωστικό αντικείμενο νομικών σχολών, σχολών αθλητικής επιστήμης αλλά και των σχολών οργάνωσης διαχείρισης του Αθλητισμού σε πάρα πολλές χώρες. Το αθλητικό Δίκαιο εμφανίζει μεγάλη ανάπτυξη παγκοσμίως ενώ σημαντικά μεγάλος αριθμός δικηγόρων ασχολούνται με την εφαρμογή στην πράξη όπως και πολλά στελέχη στην αθλητική δραστηριότητα. Η εύρυθμη λειτουργία της αθλητικής και αγωνιστικής δραστηριότητας στο αθλητικό γίγνεσθαι, όπως και οι καλές αθλητικές σχέσεις σε εθνικό και διεθνές πεδίο. Η αθλητική έννομη τάξη και τα προβλήματα που ανακύπτουν από την εφαρμογή των κανόνων δικαίου αποτελούν πεδίο έρευνας και μελέτης του Αθλητικού Δικαίου. Lex Sportiva και αθλητική δικαιοσύνη είναι οι έννοιες που προσδιορίζουν επί το ειδικότερον το τοπίο του Αθλητικού δικαίου, τη δικαστική αρμοδιότητα, το εφαρμοστέο δίκαιο, και την έννοια του δικαστικού ελέγχου στο αθλητικό γίγνεσθαι. Στην Αθήνα το 1992 διεξήχθη το 1ο Διεθνές Συνέδριο Αθλητικού Δικαίου και ιδρύθηκε IASL, η οποία σήμερα είναι 16 ετών και μαζί με το ΕΚΕΑΔ διοργανώνουν το 14ο Παγκόσμιο Συνέδριο Αθλητικού Δικαίου. Τα θέματα του Συνεδρίου θα αναπτυχθούν σε τέσσερις θεματικές ενότητες: Αθλητική νομοθεσία και αθλητισμός, επαγγελματικός αθλητισμός, Ανθρώπινα δικαιώματα στην αθλητική δραστηριότητα και αθλητική δικαιοδοτική τάξη, από ειδικούς προσκεκλημένους ομιλητές, καθηγητές Πανεπιστημίων αλλά και από ελεύθερους ερευνητές του Αθλητικού Δικαίου, σχεδόν από όλο τον Κόσμο. Εκ μέρους της Οργανωτικής Επιτροπής σας καλωσορίζουμε στο 14ο Παγκόσμιο Συνέδριο Αθλητικού Δικαίου της IASL. Από τη θέση αυτή εκφράζουμε τις ιδιαίτερες ευχαριστίες μας στον Πρύτανη του Πανεπιστημίου Αθηνών Καθηγητή κ. Χρήστο Κίττα για αμέριστη βοήθεια του Πανεπιστημίου για την εκτέλεση του συνεδρίου αυτού. Επίσης ευχαριστούμε τα Υπουργεία Παιδείας και Πολιτισμού, το Δήμο Αθηναίων και το Δικηγορικό Σύλλογο Αθηναίων για τη ηθική και υλική συμπαράστασή τους και την πολύτιμη συνεργασία. Ευχαριστούμε τα μέλη των Επιτροπών του Συνεδρίου για την ανεκτίμητη βοήθειά τους Ιδιαίτερα και την ΟΠΑΠ ΑΕ για ευγενική της Χορηγία. Είμαστε βέβαιοι ότι, τo 14ο Συνέδριο της IASL θα αποτελέσει σταθμό στην πορεία και την εξέλιξη του Αθλητικού Δικαίου παγκοσμίως, με νέο και γόνιμο επιστημονικό προβληματισμό στα πεδία έρευνας αλλά και πρακτικής του Αθλητικού Δικαίου και της αθλητικής δικαιοδοσίας.
