Italiano 1 - INTRODUZIONE Per un corretto impiego dello scuotitore e per evitare incidenti, non iniziate il lavoro senza aver letto questo manuale con la massima attenzione. Troverete su questo manuale le spiegazioni di funzionamento dei vari componenti e le istruzioni per i necessari controlli e per la manutenzione. NOTA Le descrizioni e le illustrazioni contenute nel presente manuale si intendono non rigorosamente impegnative. La Ditta si riserva il diritto di apportare eventuali modifiche senza impegnarsi ad aggiornare di volta in volta questo manuale. Questo manuale da considerarsi parte integrante della fornitura del prodotto; qualora risultasse rovinato o illeggibile in qualsiasi parte occorre richiederne immediatamente una copia alla ditta EMAK s.p.a. Il costruttore declina ogni responsabilit per uso improprio del prodotto, per danni causati in seguito ad operazioni non contemplate in questo manuale o irragionevoli. 1.1 Funzioni e utilizzo del manuale di uso e manutenzione Per salvaguardare l incolumit dell operatore ed evitare possibili danneggiamenti, prima di compiere qualsiasi operazione sull attrezzo indispensabile aver preso conoscenza di tutto il manuale uso e manutenzione. Le presenti istruzioni hanno la funzione di descrivere il funzionamento del prodotto ed il suo utilizzo sicuro, economico e conforme alle normative. L osservanza delle istruzioni contribuisce ad evitare pericoli, a ridurre i costi di riparazione e di fermata e ad aumentare la durata del prodotto. Il presente manuale deve essere integro e leggibile in ogni sua parte. Ogni operatore addetto all uso del prodotto o responsabile della manutenzione, deve conoscerne la collocazione e deve avere la possibilit di consultarlo in ogni momento. 1.2 Ricevimento del prodotto Al ricevimento del prodotto necessario verificare che: durante il trasporto esso non abbia riportato danni; la fornitura corrisponda a quanto ordinato e comprenda le eventuali parti a corredo (vedi Descrizione del prodotto - cap. Specifiche tecniche ). In caso di problemi, contattare il servizio assistenza tecnica del costruttore, fornendo gli estremi del prodotto riportati sulla targhetta di identificazione (vedi Identificazione del prodotto cap. Specifiche tecniche ). 1.3 Garanzia Questa macchina stata concepita e realizzata attraverso le pi moderne tecniche produttive. La Ditta costruttrice garantisce i propri prodotti per un periodo di 24 mesi dalla data di acquisto per utilizzo privato e hobbistico. La garanzia limitata a 12 mesi in caso di uso professionale. Condizioni generali di garanzia 1) La garanzia viene riconosciuta a partire dalla data d'acquisto. La Ditta costruttrice tramite la rete di vendita ed assistenza tecnica sostituisce gratuitamente le parti difettose dovute a materiale, lavorazioni e produzione. La garanzia non toglie all'acquirente i diritti legali previsti dal codice civile contro le conseguenze dei difetti o vizi causati dalla cosa venduta. 2) Il personale tecnico interverr il pi presto possibile nei limiti di tempo concessi da esigenze organizzative. 3) Per richiedere l'assistenza in garanzia necessario esibire al personale autorizzato il sotto riportato certificato di garanzia timbrato dal rivenditore, compilato in tutte le sue parti e corredato di fattura d'acquisto o scontrino fiscalmente obbligatorio comprovante la data d'acquisto. 4) La garanzia decade in caso di: - Assenza palese di manutenzione, - Utilizzo non corretto del prodotto o manomissioni, - Utilizzo di lubrificanti o combustibili non adatti, - Utilizzo di parti di ricambio o accessori non originali, - Interventi effettuati da personale non autorizzato. 5) La Ditta costruttrice esclude dalla garanzia i materiali di consumo e le parti soggette ad un normale logorio di funzionamento. 6) La garanzia esclude gli interventi di aggiornamento e miglioramento del prodotto. 7) La garanzia non copre la messa a punto e gli interventi di manutenzione che dovessero occorrere durante il periodo di garanzia. 8) Eventuali danni causati durante il trasporto devono essere immediatamente segnalati al trasportatore pena il decadere della garanzia. 9) Per i motori di altre marche (Briggs & Stratton, Tecumseh, Kawasaki, Honda, ecc.) montati sulle nostre macchine, vale la garanzia concessa dai costruttori del motore. 10) La garanzia non copre eventuali danni, diretti o indiretti, causati a persone o cose da guasti della macchina o conseguenti alla forzata sospensione prolungata nell'uso della stessa. All atto della richiesta di riparazione in garanzia, in accordo con le disposizioni sopra citate, il prodotto da riparare deve essere sempre accompagnato dal certificato di garanzia correttamente compilato, con allegata rispettiva prova d acquisto (fattura o altro documento avente valore legale). 2 - AVVERTENZE ANTINFORTUNISTICHE 2.1 Avvertenze 2.1.1 ATTENZIONE! Rischi dovuti all esposizione dell operatore alla rumorosit e/o vibrazioni della macchina o dell attrezzatura. ATTENZIONE! La testa meccanica deve essere azionata esclusivamente con le Unit di potenza prodotte dalla ditta EMAK s.p.a. I modelli compatibili sono: OS 305 E, SO 3005 E. 4-72

Restano a carico del datore di lavoro o dell utilizzatore gli adempimenti previsti dalla legislazione vigente in materia di sicurezza e igiene negli ambienti di lavoro (Dir. 2003/10/CE, Dir. 2002/44/CE nonch il D. Lgs nr. 81/2008): consegnare idonei dispositivi di protezione individuali, informare sui rischi, sorveglianza sanitaria, ecc. 2.1.2 Avvertenze generali ATTENZIONE! Utilizzare l attrezzo solo da terra in condizioni stabili e sicure. Indossare un equipaggiamento di protezione idoneo alle operazioni da effettuare; indossare gli occhiali di protezione e verificare che gli indumenti siano attillati al corpo. Evitare di portare cravatte, collane, cinture o capelli lunghi non raccolti che potrebbero impigliarsi o infilarsi tra gli organi in movimento. Utilizzare scarpe con suole antiscivolo e guanti antivibrazione (Fig. F). Obbligo di indossare cuffie antirumore. Una persona sotto l'effetto dell'alcool o che assuma farmaci che riducono la prontezza di riflessi o droghe non autorizzata a movimentare o comandare l attrezzo, n ad eseguire su essa operazioni di manutenzione o riparazione. Affidare o prestare l attrezzo solo a persone che conoscono le istruzioni per l'uso o addestrate da persone autorizzate. Tenere lontano dall attrezzo bambini ed animali. Non manomettere i dispositivi di sicurezza. L'utente responsabile di pericoli o incidenti nei confronti di altre persone o loro propriet. 5-72

Non utilizzare l attrezzo quando si in equilibrio precario. Non usare l attrezzo operando su una scala. Tenere i pettini e, in generale, gli organi in movimento lontani dal viso. Prima di qualsiasi manutenzione, spegnere l attrezzo. Distaccare il cavo di alimentazione dalla batteria (13). Prima di qualsiasi manutenzione ordinaria, leggere attentamente il manuale di uso e manutenzione. Per manutenzioni non espressamente indicate sul manuale rivolgersi ad un centro assistenza autorizzato. Utilizzare l attrezzo solo per gli scopi descritti nel par. Descrizione del prodotto. Ogni altro utilizzo pu essere causa di infortuni. Quando l attrezzo non viene utilizzato, spegnere l interruttore ON-OFF (posizione OFF) (7). Conservare l attrezzo in un luogo asciutto, lontano da fonti di calore e sollevato dal suolo. Non permettere ad altre persone di restare nel raggio di 15 metri durante l uso dell attrezzo. Non usare carburante (miscela) per operazioni di pulizia. Mantenere sempre pulite ed asciutte le impugnature da olio e carburante. Controllare giornalmente lo scuotitore per assicurarsi che ogni dispositivo, di sicurezza e non, sia funzionante. Non effettuare operazioni o riparazioni che non siano di normale manutenzione. Rivolgersi ad officine autorizzate. Lo scuotitore deve essere equipaggiato con gli attrezzi (aste e rastrelli) consigliati dal costruttore. Durante il lavoro controllare spesso i rastrelli fermando il motore. Sostituire i rastrelli appena appaiono crepe o rotture. Non avviare il motore senza l asta montata. 2.2 Uso Indossare occhiali protettivi o una visiera, scarpe di sicurezza, guanti antivibrazione e cuffie antirumore (fig. F). Assumere una posizione di lavoro stabile e sicura. Utilizzare l attrezzo solo per gli scopi descritti nel par. Descrizione del prodotto. Ogni altro utilizzo pu essere causa di infortuni. Il led (9) acceso segnala che l attrezzo funzionante. Non aprire l impugnatura (1). Non esporre l attrezzo alla pioggia. Conservarlo in un luogo asciutto. Non trasportare l attrezzo tenendolo per il cavo di alimentazione (13). Quando l attrezzo non viene utilizzato per la raccolta, spegnere l interruttore ON-OFF (7) (pos. OFF) per evitare un inutile consumo della batteria. Il led (9) lampeggiante segnala che l attrezzo bloccato causa surriscaldamento del motore o superamento della soglia di massima potenza. Per riattivare l attrezzo spegnere e riaccendere [agendo sull interruttore ON-OFF(7)]. 2.3 Manutenzione ATTENZIONE! Prima di effettuare una qualsiasi operazione di manutenzione o registrazione meccanica dell attrezzo, indossare scarpe di sicurezza, guanti antiperforazione ed occhiali. Ogni intervento di riparazione o manutenzione ordinaria pu essere eseguito da un operatore che abbia i requisiti fisici ed intellettivi necessari. Le operazioni di manutenzione straordinaria o riparazione devono essere eseguite da un manutentore meccanico. Durante le operazioni di manutenzione o di riparazione le persone non autorizzate devono tenersi distanti dall attrezzo. La disattivazione dei dispositivi di protezione o sicurezza deve essere effettuata esclusivamente per operazioni di manutenzione straordinaria e solo da un manutentore meccanico, il quale provveder a garantire l incolumit degli operatori ed evitare qualsiasi danno all attrezzo, nonch a ripristinare l efficacia dei dispositivi stessi al termine della manutenzione. Prima di effettuare una qualsiasi operazione di manutenzione o registrazione meccanica sull attrezzo, spegnerlo. Tutte le operazioni di manutenzione non contemplate nel presente manuale devono essere eseguite nei centri di assistenza autorizzati s.p.a. indicati da EMAK 6-72

3 - SPECIFICHE TECNICHE 3.1 Identificazione del prodotto I dati identificativi dell attrezzo sono riportati sulla targhetta (5) posta sull esterno dell impugnatura, sulla scatola dell imballo e sulla dichiarazione CE di conformit presente all interno del manuale. 3.2 Descrizione del prodotto L'unit di potenza elettromeccanica OS 305 E - SO 3005 E, alimentata a batteria, un prodotto destinato all azionamento di utensili per la raccolta. Lo schema TABELLA PRODOTTI (par. 2.1.1) riassume la gamma di prodotti compatibili con l'unit di potenza. L'unit di potenza abbinata all asta e alla testa di raccolta costituisce la generica tipologia di attrezzo completo che viene destinata alla raccolta di olive e caff. L unit di potenza dotata di un sistema di risparmio energetico e di salvaguardia degli organi meccanici. Il sistema riduce automaticamente la velocit dopo 6 secondi dall uscita dalla chioma dell albero, riducendo cos il consumo. Reinserendo l attrezzo nella chioma, riparte automaticamente alla velocit impostata. L'unit di potenza alimentata da una batteria a 12V (non fornita insieme alla macchina). La capacit della batteria (Ampere) determina solo la durata di lavoro. L'unit di potenza costituita dal corpo impugnatura, dal motoriduttore, dalla scheda elettronica di comando. Sul corpo dell impugnatura (1) sono collocati l interruttore ON-OFF (7) che comanda l accensione e lo spegnimento dell attrezzo, il selettore di velocit (8) 1080 o 1140 giri/ min, che permette di variare la velocit di rotazione del motore ed un led (9) luminoso rosso per la verifica dello stato di acceso o spento. Sul corpo montato un connettore (4) che collega, tramite un cavo (13) di alimentazione di 15 m, l'unit di potenza con la batteria. Il collegamento con la batteria avviene tramite morsetti (6). In testa al corpo impugnatura (1) vi un morsetto (3) su cui montare l asta di prolunga telescopica (11), che trasmette il moto all utensile. La testa meccanica il terminale che completa l abbacchiatore elettromeccanico prodotto da EMAK spa e destinato alla raccolta. L abbacchiatore elettromeccanico costituito da 3 prodotti: la testa, l asta di prolunga e l Unit di potenza. La vibrazione della coppia dei rastrelli (15) di cui dotato viene trasmessa ai rami degli alberi provocando il distacco dei suoi prodotti. La testa meccanica pu essere montata sull asta telescopica (11), che ne consente un facile uso da terra. ATTENZIONE In condizioni di utilizzo con sforzi oltre al limite massimo impostato sulla scheda elettronica di comando, pu avvenire un momentaneo arresto dell attrezzo (comandato dall elettronica per prevenire possibili danneggiamenti). Il riavvio avviene dopo aver estratto l attrezzo dai rami ed aver spento e riacceso l interruttore (7) ON-OFF della scheda elettronica di comando. 3.3 Parti a corredo Manuale uso & manutenzione. 3.4 Uso previsto L attrezzo stato progettato e costruito per l utilizzo secondo i modi e con i limiti precedentemente descritti. ATTENZIONE! Ogni uso diverso da considerarsi improprio e perci potenzialmente pericoloso per l incolumit degli operatori, nonch tale da far decadere la garanzia contrattuale. Se l attrezzo viene utilizzato per scopi diversi da quelli sopra elencati, pu danneggiarsi gravemente e causare danni a cose e persone. 7-72

3.8 Simbologia e avvertimenti Avvertenze generali Obbligo protezione capo Obbligo leggere libretto uso e manutenzione Obbligo abbigliamento idoneo Distanza sicurezza 4 - INSTALLAZIONE 4.1 Avviamento Estrarre l attrezzo dall apposito contenitore. Montare l abbacchiatore sull asta (11), innestare l albero (22) di trasmissione e serrare le viti (20) del morsetto. Estrarre l'unit di potenza (1) ed il cavo (13) dall apposito contenitore. Montare l'unit di potenza sull asta con l attrezzo prescelto, innestare l albero (10) di trasmissione e serrare le viti (2) del morsetto (3). Collegare il cavo (13) di alimentazione al connettore (4) rispettando gli accoppiamenti maschio-femmina e sfruttando l antierrore per orientare i PIN dei connettori. Accendere l attrezzo premendo l interruttore (7) ON-OFF e controllare che il led (9) si accenda. Montare l abbacchiatore sull asta (11), innestare l albero (25) di trasmissione e serrare le viti (20) del morsetto. ATTENZIONE! Al momento dell accensione dell'unit di potenza, l attrezzo montato sull asta inizia a funzionare immediatamente. Fare attenzione a posizionare l attrezzo in modo che sia lontano da persone o cose. Prima di iniziare il lavoro collegare i morsetti alla batteria; il morsetto rosso deve essere collegato al polo positivo, mentre il morsetto nero deve essere collegato al polo negativo. Impugnare l attrezzo afferrandolo con una mano nella zona dell asta vicina all impugnatura. Con l altra mano accendere l interruttore (7) ON-OFF (pos. ON). L attrezzo pronto per l utilizzo. ATTENZIONE! Utilizzare l attrezzo solo per gli scopi descritti nel par. Descrizione del prodotto. Ogni altro utilizzo pu essere causa di infortuni. 5.2 Arresto dell'attrezzo L attrezzo deve essere spento al termine della sessione di lavoro, pertanto: spegnere l interruttore (7) ON-OFF (pos. OFF); avere cura di appoggiare l attrezzo evitando di far gravare il peso dello stesso sui pettini e/o di piegare o mettere in tensione il connettore ed il cavo (13) di alimentazione; evitare di schiacciare il cavo (13), poggiandovi sopra dei pesi o l attrezzo stesso. 5.3 Inconvenienti, cause, rimedi INCONVENIENTE CAUSA RIMEDIO L attrezzo non funziona. Prima di effettuare qualsiasi operazione di manutenzione ordinaria, spegnere l interruttore (7) ON-OFF (pos. OFF) e staccare il cavo (13) dall attrezzo. Tutte le operazioni di manutenzione non contemplate nel presente manuale devono essere eseguite nei centri di assistenza autorizzati. Prima di effettuare qualsiasi operazione di manutenzione ordinaria, si raccomanda di mettere in sicurezza la testa raccoglitrice. Se montata sull asta, spegnere l attrezzo e disconnettere il cavo di alimentazione. Infine smontare la testa dall asta. 6.1.1 Generalit Prima di qualunque manutenzione ordinaria: Spegnere l interruttore ON-OFF (pos. OFF). Indossare guanti di protezione antiperforazione. Smontare la testa dall asta. Superamento soglia max corrente. 6.1.2 Pulizia e messa a riposo Effettuare le seguenti operazioni: Spegnere l interruttore (7) ON-OFF (pos. OFF). Distaccare il cavo (13) di alimentazione dalla batteria e dall'attrezzo. Per eliminare le impurit entrate dalle alette di raffreddamento del motore, soffiare con aria compressa dalle feritoie, avendo cura di non avvicinare eccessivamente la pistola alle alette stesse. 6.1.3 Lubrificazione Ogni 24 ore lubrificare la testa meccanica: Lubrificazione delle maglie (23) di giunzione: svitare il tappo (17) poi, per mezzo di un ingrassatore, lubrificare utilizzando grasso a sapone di litio + PTFE (cod. 001001569). Lubrificazione della biella (24): svitare il tappo (18) poi, per mezzo di un ingrassatore, introdurre nel foro della biella del grasso a sapone di litio + PTFE (cod. 001001569). Azionare l attrezzo a vuoto per qualche secondo e ripetere l operazione finch il grasso non fuoriesca. 6.1.4 Sostituzione dei rebbi I rebbi danneggiati devono essere sfilati dalla loro sede (16): Allargare i dentini (21) che trattengono il rebbo con un cacciavite (fig.n). Sfilare il rebbo danneggiato nel senso indicato dalla freccia. Infi lare nella sede il nuovo rebbo fino a fare uscire i dentini (21) di trattenuta (fig.o). 10-72

6.1.5 Pulizia della testa meccanica Ogni 240 ore di lavoro, aprire la testa meccanica e rimuovere polvere e impurit che vi siano penetrate. Lubrificare la biella (24) e le maglie (23) di giunzione. Per la lubrificazione vedi par. 6.1.3 Lubrificazione. 6.2 Manutenzione straordinaria ATTENZIONE! Qualunque operazione di manutenzione straordinaria deve essere eseguita presso un centro di assistenza autorizzato EMAK s.p.a. 6.2.1 Manutenzione della testa di raccolta Tutte le indicazioni per la manutenzione della testa di raccolta sono indicate nel manuale dato in dotazione all attrezzo. 6.3 Tabella manutenzione periodica Manutenzione Verificare il corretto serraggio delle viti. 1.1 Consulting the use & maintenance manual Before working on the equipment, carefully read and understand this use & maintenance manual in order to safeguard the operator and to avoid damaging the machine. These instructions describe how to operate the equipment safely, economically and in compliance with the current safety regulations. Following these instructions helps avoid dangerous situations, reduces repair costs and down-time and extends the service life of the machine. This manual is to be kept legible and in good condition. The operating and maintenance staff must have it at hand, so that it can be read whenever needed. 1.2 Receiving the product When receiving the product, make sure: the product has not been damaged during transport; the product supplied is the same as that ordered. Check that all parts have been delivered (refer to Product Description, Specifications chapter). If problems arise, contact the manufacturer s service department quoting all details indicated on the nameplate (refer to Product Description, Specifications chapter). 1.3 Warranty This machine has been designed and manufactured using the most modern techniques. The manufacturer guarantees its products for 24 months from the date of purchase, for private and hobby use. The warranty is limited to 12 months in case of professional use. Limited warranty 1) The warranty period starts on the date of sale. The manufacturer, acting through the sales and technical assistance network, shall replace free of charge any parts proven defective in material, machining or manufacturing. The warranty does not affect the purchaser's rights as established under legislation governing the consequences of defects in the machine. 2) Technical personnel will undertake the necessary repairs in the minimum time possible, compatible with organisational needs. 3) To make any claim under the warranty, this certificate of warranty, fully compiled, bearing the dealer's stamp, and accompanied by the invoice or receipt showing the date of purchase, must be displayed to the personnel authorised to approve work. 4) The warranty shall be null and void if: - the machine has evidently not been serviced correctly, - the machine has been used for improper purposes or has been modified in any way, - unsuitable lubricants and fuels have been used, - non-original spare parts and accessories have been fitted, - work has been done on the machine by unauthorised personnel. 5) The warranty does not cover consumables or parts subject to normal wear. 6) The warranty does not cover work to update or improve the machine. 7) The warranty does not cover any preparation or servicing work required during the warranty period. 8) Damage incurred during transport must be immediately brought to the attention of the carrier: failure to do so shall render null and void the warranty. 9) Engines of other manufacturers (Briggs & Stratton, Tecumseh, Kawasaki, Honda, etc.) fitted to our machines are covered by the warranties of the engine manufacturer. 10) The warranty does not cover injury or damage caused directly or indirectly to persons or things by defects in the machine or by periods of extended disuse of the machine resulting from the said defects. For warranty claims, according to the above mentioned points, it is necessary to enclose the warranty card, properly filled in, and the corresponding document with the date of purchase (invoice or any other document with legal value). 2 - SAFETY PRECAUTIONS 2.1 Precautions 2.1.1 WARNING! Use the tool only while standing on the ground in a safe and stable position. Always use adequate clothing as called for by the job. Wear tight clothing. Do not wear ties, necklaces or belts which may get caught in the moving parts. Use goggles, safety shoes and antivibration gloves (Picture F). It is compulsory to use a noise-abatement headset. Do not operate, service or repair the equipment, if you are under the influence of alcohol or drugs, which could impair your alertness or co-ordination. Only well trained and qualified personnel, who have read this use and maintenance manual carefully, are allowed to use the tool. Keep children and animals away from the tool. Do not alter the safety and protective devices. 15-72

The operator is the only responsible for injuries caused to other people or for damages caused to their belongings. Do not use the tool when you are in an unstable position or off balance. It is forbidden to operate the tool while standing on a ladder. Keep the rakes and any other moving part away from your face. Before any maintenance operations are carried-out, switch the tool off. Disconnect the power supply cable from the battery (13). Before any routine maintenance operation, read this use and maintenance manual carefully. For any other maintenance operation, which is not described in this manual, take the tool to a EMAK s.p.a. authorised service point. The tool shall be used for the purposes described in par. Product description only. Other uses could cause injuries and/or damages. When the tool is not used, select the switch (7) OFF mode. Keep the machine in a dry place, away from heat sources and raised off the ground. Do not allow other persons within a 15-metre radius of the machine during operation. Do not use fuel (mixture) for cleaning purposes. Always keep the handles clean and dry, free of oil and fuel. Check the shaker daily when in use to ensure that all devices, safety or otherwise, are in good working order. Do not attempt to carry out any operation or repair other than routine maintenance. Contact an Authorized Service Centre. The shaker must be equipped with the attachments (rods and rakes) recommended by the manufacturer. During operation, stop the engine and check the rakes at regular intervals. Replace the rakes as soon as cracks or breaks appear. Do not start the engine without the rod connected. 2.2 Use Always wear goggles or a visor, safety shoes and antivibration gloves and a noise-abatement headset (picture F). The working position must be stable and safe. The tool shall be used only for the purposes described in par. Product Description. Other uses could cause injuries and/or damages. When the led light (9) is on, it indicates that the tool is working. Do not open the handgrip (1). Do not leave the tool in the rain. Keep it in a dry place. Do not carry the tool by the power supply cable (13). When the tool is not used for harvesting, select the switch (7) OFF mode in order to avoid useless battery consumption. The flashing led light (9) indicates that the tool has stopped due to engine overheating or max power level overcoming. In order to start the tool again, switch it off and then on by means of the ON/OFF switch (7). 2.3 Maintenance WARNING! Before performing any maintenance operations or adjustments of the mechanical parts of the equipment, wear protective shoes, gloves and goggles Routine maintenance and repairs can be carried out only by an operator with the necessary physical and intellectual qualifications. Special maintenance and repairs can be carried out only by a service mechanic. Keep bystanders away when servicing or repairing the machine. Only service mechanics are authorized to inactivate the safety devices provided on the machine when maintenance is to be performed. It is their responsibility to safeguard the operators and the machine. The safety devices shall be activated as soon as the maintenance operations have been completed. Before any maintenance operations or mechanical adjustments are carried-out, switch the tool off. All maintenance procedures not dealt with in this manual are to be performed at a EMAK s.p.a. authorized service point. 16-72

3 - SPECIFICATIONS 3.1 Product identification The tool identification details are indicated on the plate (5) on the handgrip, on the tool box and in the CE compliance certificate in this manual. 3.2 Product description The electro-mechanical, battery supplied OS 305 E - SO 3005 E unit has been created to operate harvesting tools. The scheme "PRODUCT ASSEMBLY" POSSIBILITIES (in par. 2.1.1) shows the possible combinations among power unit, extension pole and harvesting head, in order to find the best solution for the task to be carried out. The power unit is fitted with an energy saving and mechanical parts protecting system. The system automatically decreases the speed after 6 seconds since the tool has got out of the branches, this way reducing its wear-and-tear. When the rakes touch the branches, it automatically reaches at the selected speed. The unit is supplied by the power of a 12V battery (not supplied with the machine). The battery capacity (ampere) determines the work duration only. The power unit is composed by a hand grip body, a gearbox and an electronic control card. On the hand grip body (1) there are an ON/OFF switch (7) which starts and stops the tool, a speed selector (8) which varies the engine rotation speed, either 1080 or 1140 rpm and a red led light (9) which shows if the tool is on or off. On the body there is a connector (4) which joins the power unit with the battery by means of a 15 m power supply cable (14). The connection with the battery is by means of a clamp joint (6). On the top of the hand grip body (1) there is a clamp connection (3) for telescopic extension pole, (11) which transmits motion to the tool. The mechanical head is the top part of an electro-mechanical harvesting tool manufactured by EMAK s.p.a. The electro-mechanical harvester is composed by three parts: the harvesting head, the extension pole and the power unit. The rake vibrations are transmitted to the branches and cause the fruit falling. The harvesting head can be assembled onto a telescopic extension pole (11), allowing to work from the ground. WARNING! In case of excessive efforts a temporary stop of the tool could occur. This would be driven by the electronic card in order not to damage the unit. After having removed the tool from the branches and having switched off and then on the electronic card by means of the ON/OFF switch (7), the tool can be started again. 3.3 Parts supplied Use & maintenance manual. 3.4 Recommended use The tool was created to be used according to the ways and limits previously described. WARNING! Any other use has to be considered improper and potentially dangerous for the operators safety. This would make any warranty claims void. If it is not used for the purposes it was designed for, the tool may get damaged and cause serious injuries to personnel and bystanders and damages to things. 17-72

Assemble the tool onto the extension pole (11), insert the shaft (22) and tighten the screws (20) of the clamp connection. Remove the power unit (1) and the cable (13) from their box. Assemble the power unit onto the extension pole with the chosen harvesting head. Insert the shaft (10) and tighten the screws (2) of the clamp connection (3). Join the power supply cable (13) with the connector (4) taking care of the male and female connections. Use the anti-error device for the proper connectors insertion. Start the tool by means of the ON/OFF switch (7) and check the led light (9) is on. Assemble the tool onto the extension pole (11), insert the shaft (25) and tighten the screws (20) of the clamp connection. WARNING! When starting the power unit, the harvesting head assembled on the extension pole begins moving immediately. Be very careful when positioning the tool. It shall be far from people and things. Negletting this warning could mean creating dangers for the operator. 5 - USE OF THE TOOL Beware overhead power cables Wear protective gloves Use protective footwear 5.1 Starting the tool Before starting working, wear adequate clothing (see picture F) and check that all the safety devices are well assembled and can operate properly. Before starting work, connect the terminals to the battery; the red terminal must be connected to the positive pole, while the black terminal must be connected to the negative pole. Hold the tool with one hand on the extension pole, close to the hand grip, and use the other hand to select the ON mode of switch (7). The tool is now ready to be used. WARNING! Use the tool only for the aims described in chapter Product description. Any other use may cause injuries. Start the tool only when it is among the branches. Any improper use damages the tool and causes excessive battery power consumption. 19-72

5.2 Stopping the tool The tool must always be switched off at the end of any working session: Select the OFF mode of the switch (7). Lean the tool without leaving its weight on the rakes and without bending or tensioning the connector and the power supply cable (13). Do not squash the cable (13) by putting weights or the tool onto it. 5.3 Troubleshooting FAULTS CAUSE REMEDY The tool does not work. Flat battery. Re-charge the battery. Get out of the tree, wait for the automatic unlocking phase and start the tool again. Exceeding current limits. 6 - MAINTENANCE 6.1 Routine maintenance WARNING! Before any routine maintenance operations, select the OFF mode of the switch (7) and disconnect the cable (13) from the tool. All maintenance operations which are not described in this manual shall be carried out only by authorized service points. Before any routine maintenance operations, if the harvesting head is assembled on the tool, switch the tool off (see the power unit manual), disconnect the power supply cable and then remove the head from the extension pole. 6.1.1 General Before any routine maintenance operation: Select the OFF mode of the switch (7). Wear protective gloves. Disconnect the harvesting head from the extension pole. 6.1.2 Cleaning and storing Carry out the following operations: Select the OFF mode of the switch (7). Disconnect the power supply cable (13) from the battery and from the tool. To clear out impurities which have infiltrated the engine cooling fins, blow compressed air into the vent slots, taking care not to bring the blower nozzle too close to the fins themselves. 6.1.3 Lubrication Lubricate the harvesting head each 24 work hours by carrying out the following operations: Links (23) lubrication: unscrew the plug (17), then use a greaser to add + PTFE lithium soap grease (code 001001569). Con rod (24) lubrication: unscrew the plug (18), then use a greaser to add + PTFE lithium soap grease (code 001001569). Make the tool idle for few seconds and repeat the operation till the grease comes out. 6.1.4 Teeth replacing The damaged teeth have to be removed from their seat (16) by carrying out the following operations: Separate the small protrusions (21), locking the tooth in its seat, by means of a screwdriver (see picture N). Remove the damaged tooth following the arrow direction. Put the new tooth into its seat till the small locking protrusions (21) come out (picture O). 20-72
