3 SAFETY CHECK-OUT (US MODEL) After correcting the original service problem, perform the following safety check before releasing the set to the customer: Check the antenna terminals, metal trim, metallized knobs, screws, and all other exposed metal parts for AC leakage. Check leakage as described below. LEAKAGE TEST The AC leakage from any exposed metal part to earth ground and from all exposed metal parts to any exposed metal part having a return to chassis, must not exceed 0.5 ma (500 microampers.). Leakage current can be measured by any one of three methods.. A commercial leakage tester, such as the Simpson 9 or RCA WT-540A. Follow the manufacturers instructions to use these instruments.. A battery-operated AC milliammeter. The Data Precision 45 digital multimeter is suitable for this job.. Measuring the voltage drop across a resistor by means of a VOM or battery-operated AC voltmeter. The limit indication is 0.75 V, so analog meters must have an accurate lowvoltage scale. The Simpson 50 and Sanwa SH-6Trd are examples of a passive VOM that is suitable. Nearly all battery operated digital multimeters that have a V AC range are suitable. 6 Operations Using the Remote RM-AAP00 You can use the remote RM-AAP00 to operate the components in your system. Before you use your remote Inserting batteries into the remote Insert R6 (size-aa) batteries with the + and properly oriented in the battery compartment. When using the remote, point it at the remote sensor on the receiver. Tip Under normal conditions, the batteries should last for about 6 months. When the remote no longer operates the receiver, replace all batteries with new ones. Notes Do not leave the remote in an extremely hot or humid place. Do not use a new battery with an old one. Do not expose the remote sensor to direct sunlight or lighting apparatuses. Doing so may cause a malfunction. If you don t use the remote for an extended period of time, remove the batteries to avoid possible damage from battery leakage and corrosion. 11 SECTION TEST MODE FACTORY PRESET MODE * All preset contents are reset to the default setting. * Procedure: While depressing the [FM MODE] and the [DISPLAY] buttons simultaneously, press the?/ button to turn on the main power. The message FACTORY appears for a moment and the present contents are reset to the default values. AM CHANNEL STEP 9 khz/0 khz SELECTION MODE (US, Canadian model only) * Either the 9 khz step or 0 khz step can be selected for the AM channel step. * Procedure: Press the [AM] button to set AM and press the?/ button to turn off the main power. While depressing the [PRESET TUNING +] button or the [TUNING +] button, press the?/ button to turn on the main power. Either the message 9k STEP or 0k STEP appears for a moment and select the desired step. SPEAKER SIZE SELECTION MODE * Either the normal speaker or micro satellite speaker can be selected. * Procedure: While depressing the [DIMMER] button, press the?/ button to turn on the main power. Either the message NORM. SP. or MICRO SP. appears for a moment and select the desired speaker size. FLUORESCENT INDICATOR TUBE TEST MODE * All fluorescent segments are tested. When this test is activated, all segments light on at the same time, then each segment lights on one after another. * Procedure: While depressing the [TUNING --] and the [SPEAKERS $OFF/A/B/ A+B%] buttons simultaneously, press the?/ button to turn on the main power.. ALL segments light on. (Not only the [VIDEO ] button, but also the other buttons such as [VIDEO ], [VIDEO ], [DVD], [MD/TAPE], [SA-CD/CD], [FM] and [AM] can be used.) SOUND FIELD CLEAR MODE * The preset sound field is cleared when this mode is activated. Use this mode before returning the product to clients upon completion of repair. * Procedure: While depressing the [CH] button, press the?/ button to turn on the main power. The message SF. CLR. appears for a moment and initialization is performed. SOFTWARE VERSION DISPLAY MODE * The software version is displayed. * Procedure: While depressing the [TUNING --] and the [DISPLAY] buttons simultaneously, press the?/ button to turn on the main power. The model name, destination and the software version are displayed for a moment. KEY CHECK MODE * Button check * Procedure: While depressing the [TUNING --] and the [MAIN MENU] buttons simultaneously, press the?/ button to turn on the main power. Either the message REST 0 appears. Every pressing of any button other than the?/ counts down the buttons. The buttons which are already counted once are not counted again. When all buttons are pressed REST 00 appears. COMMAND MODE SELECTION MODE * The command mode (AV or AV) of the remote commander can be selected. * Procedure: While depressing the [ENTER] button, press the?/ button to turn on the main power.
