[ M ]. :, Determination of arsenic speciation in environmental samples by flow injection hydride generation atomic absorption spectrometry REN Feng2lian 3, MEN GJie, WU Yuan2xiong, HON G Li2ming, XIA Qing2qiu, LUO Ji (College of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, Central South University, Changsha , China) Abstract : A met hod for t he determinatio n of total arsenic and arsenic species ( organic arsenic, A s ( ) and As ( ) ) in local water samples has been st udied by flow injection hydride generation atomic absorption spectroscopy ( FIA2H G2AAS) combined wit h proper separation met hod based on the fact t hat As ( ) can react with potassium borohydride to form a gaseous hydride in a medium of p H while As ( ) do not. Some conditions related to t he determination, such as acidity, concentration of potassium borohydride, working conditions and amount of p re2reductant were st udied and t he opti2 mum working parameters were confirmed. Under t he optimum conditions t he linear range of determ2 ing As was ng/ ml and t he recovery of t he met hod was found to be % % while t he relative standard deviation ( RSD) was 0194 %. This met hod can be used for t he analysis of arsenic speciation in environmental water.
