Therein, adiponectin predominantly exhibits significant anti-inflammatory and anti-atherosclerotic effects. This brief review will summarize the recent work on the role of adiponectin in modulating the vascular functions, including the influences on the vascular structure, inflammatory responses of endothelium cells, nitric oxide (NO) generation and angiogenesis.
