An approach for the MMG implementation was proposed by using API of Computer Aid Design CAD software CATIA script file of mesh generation software Gridgen and Patran Command Language. This MMG can automatically generate the analysis models for different disciplines based on a unified three dimensional CAD model. The key technology of MMG implementation was presented. A flying wing configuration aircraft was used to illustrate the detailed steps of MMG implementation. The application indicates that the MMG can automatically generate aerodynamic radar cross section and structural analysis models. The seamless connection between CAD model and aerodynamic stealthy and structural analysis models is accomplished which solves one of the key issues for the multidisciplinary design optimization of the aircraft preliminary design with the flying wing configuration.
