SPEAKERS MIKE RILEY Mike Riley is a Teacher Trainer and Author Engagement Manager at Macmillan Education. Now settled in the UK where he works as Global Teacher Training Manager at Macmillan Education, Mike spent over a decade at International House Milan. He worked there as teacher, Director of Studies and Director. He has been passionate about leadership ever since studying American History at university. DR LUKE PRODROMOU Luke Prodromou is the author of 20 or so coursebooks; he has worked for the British Council (Head of Teacher Training, Thessaloniki), the University of Thessaloniki, the University of Edinburgh, ESADE Barcelona, Pilgrims, Canterbury and NILE, Norwich. He is also co-author, with Lindsay Clandfield, of the award-winning teachers handbook: Dealing with Difficulties. Luke is a founder member of Disabled Access Friendly Campaign for which he wrote - and performed, with D. Gibson - the Wheelchair Sketch ; he now performs as Luke and friends. CLIFF PARRY Cliff Parry (MSc TEYL, RSA DTEFLA, BSc, Dip. Management) is Academic Manager at the British Council Greece and has been living and teaching in Greece since 1986. He has a wide range of teaching experience across all course types and ages, as well as extensive training experience. He has written numerous articles for professional journals and ELT publications, and has co-authored a number of English language teaching titles. He has also worked on social inclusion projects for a number of years. ΓΕΩΡΓΙΑ ΠΟΥΛΗΜΕΝΕΑ Η Γεωργία Πουλημενέα oλοκλήρωσε τις σπουδές της στο Τμήμα Ψυχολογίας του Παντείου Πανεπιστημίου και κατόπιν μετεκπαιδεύτηκε στο Τμήμα Ψυχολογίας του Πανεπιστημίου "Victor Segalen" Bordeaux 2 στη Γαλλία, ολοκληρώνοντας την ειδίκευσή της στην Κλινική Ψυχολογία και Ψυχολογία της Υγείας. Eργάστηκε στο 18ο Δημοτικό Σχολείο Αθηνών, παρέχοντας ψυχολογική υποστήριξη σε μαθητές, γονείς και εκπαιδευτικούς. Από το 2009 είναι επιστημονική συνεργάτης του Ναυτικού Νοσοκομείου στη Νευρολογική Κλινική, όπου εργάζεται με ενήλικες με νευρολογικά προβλήματα φοβίες, κρίσεις πανικού, κλπ. ΙΩΑΝΝΗΣ ΚΟΣΜΟΠΟΥΛΟΣ Ο Γιάννης Κοσμόπουλος ασχολείται με τις Μαθησιακές Δυσκολίες και τη Δυσλεξία από το 1992 τόσο σε επίπεδο μελέτης των Μαθησιακών Δυσκολιών όσο και με την αξιολόγηση και την παρέμβαση. Τα τελευταία χρόνια ασχολείται με τη Συμβουλευτική Γονέων, την οργάνωση ομάδων γονέων και την Εκπαίδευση Ενηλίκων. In other global curricula (Canada, Singapore) this new skill has been integrated in language education as Viewing. Within this changing landscape that gradually stars to recognize the centrality of Viewing in how language learners access, engage with and make meaning in their target language, this talk will address the opportunities afforded to language educators and the challenges of teaching language in a world of screens.
