ΧΡΗΜΑΤΙΣΤΗΡΙΑΚΗ ΑΝΑΣΚΟΠΗΣΗ ΓΙΑ ΤΟΝ ΙΑΝΟΥΑΡΙΟ 2003 Tον Ιανουάριο παρατηρήθηκε σχετική πτώση του Γενικού είκτη Τιµών που συνοδεύτηκε µε κάθοδο στον όγκο συναλλαγών σε σχέση µε το µήνα εκέµβριο. Οι εξελίξεις για τον µήνα αυτό αναλύονται πιο κάτω: Τιµές: Την τελευταία µέρα του µήνα ο Γενικός είκτης Τιµών (ΧΑΚ) ανήλθε στις 91,44 µονάδες, ενώ το ανώτατο σηµείο στο οποίο έφτασε ο είκτης καθ όλη τη διάρκεια του µήνα ήταν 98,84 µονάδες. Σε κλαδικό επίπεδο, οι είκτες για το µήνα αυτό έκλεισαν ως εξής: ο τοµέας των Τραπεζών µε 103,28 µονάδες, ο τοµέας των Εγκεκριµένων Επενδυτικών Εταιρειών µε 80,41 µονάδες, ο τοµέας των Ασφαλιστικών εταιρειών µε 19,64 µονάδες, ο Βιοµηχανικός τοµέας µε 63,06 µονάδες, ο Τουριστικός τοµέας µε 99,86 µονάδες, ο Εµπορικός τοµέας µε 18,90 µονάδες, ο τοµέας Οικοδοµήσιµων Υλών µε 70,75 µονάδες, ο τοµέας Πληροφορικής µε 3,20 µονάδες, ο τοµέας Χρηµατοοικονοµικών Υπηρεσιών µε 18,04 µονάδες, ο τοµέας Ιχθυοπαραγωγής & Εµπορίας Ψαριών µε 13,48 µονάδες, ο τοµέας των Ξενοδοχείων µε 45,64 µονάδες και ο τοµέας των Άλλων Εταιρειών µε 84,21 µονάδες. Η χρηµατιστηριακή αξία της αγοράς (µετοχές εξαιρουµένων των Επενδυτικών οργανισµών) ανήλθε σε 2.4δις. από 2.5δις. του προηγούµενου µήνα σηµειώνοντας µείωση της τάξης του - 3,62%. Με βάση τα στοιχεία του µήνα ο Τραπεζικός τοµέας αποτελεί το 45,29% της συνολικής χρηµατιστηριακής αξίας (µετοχές), και ο τοµέας των Τουριστικών Εταιρειών 2,78%. Επίσης, ο τοµέας των Εµπορικών Εταιρειών κατέχει ποσοστό 4,23% της ολικής χρηµατιστηριακής αξίας, ο τοµέας των Ασφαλιστικών Εταιρειών το 0,74%, ο Βιοµηχανικός τοµέας µε 9,99%, ο τοµέας Οικοδοµήσιµων Υλών το 7,43%, ο τοµέας Πληροφορικής µε 1,12%, ο τοµέας Χρηµατοοικονοµικών Υπηρεσιών µε 5,33%, ο τοµέας Ιχθυοπαραγωγής & Εµπορίας Ψαριών µε 0,33%, ο τοµέας των Ξενοδοχείων µε 8,67% και ο τοµέας των Άλλων Εταιρειών µε 14,08%. Επιπρόσθετα η χρηµατιστηριακή αξία της αγοράς συµπεριλαµβανοµένων των Επενδυτικών Οργανισµών, των ικαιωµάτων αγοράς µετοχών, των Οµολογιακών αξιών και των Κυβερνητικών χρεογράφων έφθασε στα 4.2 δις. από 4.3 δις. του προηγούµενου µήνα, σηµειώνοντας µείωση της τάξης του 3,31%. Συναλλαγές: Ο συνολικός όγκος συναλλαγών του µήνα έφθασε περίπου στα 14,6 εκ. µε το µέσο ηµερήσιο όγκο συναλλαγών να βρίσκεται στις 699 χιλιάδες. Το µεγαλύτερο µέρος του συνολικού όγκου συναλλαγών του µήνα που πέρασε, συγκεντρώθηκε στον τοµέα των Τραπεζών µε ποσοστό 28,68% και το µικρότερο στον τοµέα Εταιρικών Χρεογράφων µε ποσοστό 0,18%. Οι τίτλοι στους οποίους επικεντρώθηκε το µεγαλύτερο ποσοστό του µηνιαίου όγκου συναλλαγών ήταν στις µετοχές της «Τράπεζας Κύπρου Λτδ» και της «Λαϊκής Τράπεζας Λτδ», µε ποσοστό 15,02% και 10,49% αντίστοιχα. Νέα Εισηγµένων Εταιρειών / Αποφάσεις Συµβουλίου για Εισηγµένες Εταιρείες Από τις 3 µέχρι τις 24 Ιανουαρίου αναστάληκε η διαπραγµάτευση των τίτλων των εισηγµένων εκδοτών Ετ. Αναπτύξεως Αγρού ΠΡΟΟ ΟΣ Λτδ, Petrolina Holdings Ltd, D.H. Cyprotels Ltd, Cytrustees Investment Co. Ltd- Κυπριακές, Cytrustees Investment Co. Ltd- ιεθνείς, Atlantic Insurance Company Ltd λόγω ανάληψης των µητρώων και της µετάβασης τους στο Κεντρικό Μητρώο και Κεντρικό Αποθετήριο του Χρηµατιστήριο Αξιών Κύπρου. Στις 17 Ιανουαρίου άρχισε η διαπραγµάτευση Γραµµατίων του ηµοσίου, 52 εβδοµάδων (01/01/2003-31/12/2003) συνολικής αξίας 20.355.000 που προέκυψαν από δηµοπρασία η οποία διεξήχθη στις 30 εκεµβρίου 2002. Στις 17 Ιανουαρίου άρχισε η διαπραγµάτευση Κρατικών Ονοµαστικών Χρεογράφων Αναπτύξεως, 1 η τµηµατική έκδοση, 1 ης σειράς 5-ετών Χρεογράφων (4,75%, 2008) συνολικής αξίας 54.304.800 που προέκυψαν από δηµοπρασία η οποία διεξήχθη στις 30 εκεµβρίου 2002. Στις 17 Ιανουαρίου άρχισε η διαπραγµάτευση Κρατικών Ονοµαστικών Χρεογράφων Αναπτύξεως, 1 η τµηµατική έκδοση, 1 ης σειράς 2-ετών Χρεογράφων (4,25%, 2005) συνολικής αξίας 25.000.000 που προέκυψαν από δηµοπρασία η οποία διεξήχθη στις 30 εκεµβρίου 2002. Στις 20 Ιανουαρίου άρχισε η διαπραγµάτευση 42.022 συνήθων µετοχών της εταιρείας «Τράπεζα Κύπρου Λτδ» οι οποίες προέκυψαν από την µετατροπή 52.529 6,75% Μετατρέψιµων Χρεογράφων λήξης 2003 της εταιρείας. Στις 23 Ιανουαρίου άρχισε η διαπραγµάτευση 980.000 συνήθων µετοχών της εταιρείας «Liberty Life Insurance Ltd» οι οποίες αφορούσαν φιλοδώρηµα (bonus) προς ασφαλιστές/συνεργάτες της εταιρείας. Στις 23 Ιανουαρίου άρχισε η διαπραγµάτευση 13.600 συνήθων µετοχών της εταιρείας «Αθηνά Κυπριακή Επενδυτική Λτδ» οι οποίες προέκυψαν από την άσκηση των ικαιωµάτων Αγοράς Μετοχών Ευρωπαϊκού τύπου 2002, 2004, 2006 της εταιρείας. Στις 24 Ιανουαρίου άρχισε η διαπραγµάτευση 2.033.229 ικαιωµάτων Αγοράς Μετοχών της εταιρείας Plyntex Ltd µε τιµή άσκησης 0.25 και περιόδους άσκησης οποιαδήποτε εργάσιµη ηµέρα κατά τη διάρκεια του µηνός Οκτωβρίου για τα έτη 2003, 2004 και 2005. Την πιο πάνω ηµεροµηνία το Χρηµατιστήριο Αξιών Κύπρου ανέλαβε την τήρηση του πιο πάνω µητρώου. Στις 24 Ιανουαρίου άρχισε η διαπραγµάτευση 1.065.000 συνήθων µετοχών της εταιρείας Logicom Ltd, οι οποίες εκδόθηκαν και παραχωρήθηκαν σε εµπιστευµατοδόχους σύµφωνα µε τις πρόνοιες των συµβάσεων εργοδοσίας εννέα διευθυντικών στελεχών της. Στις 27 Ιανουαρίου το Χρηµατιστήριο Αξιών Κύπρου ανάλαβε την τήρηση των µητρώων των αξιών, των ακόλουθων εισηγµένων εκδοτών στο Κεντρικό Αποθετήριο και Κεντρικό Μητρώο Αξιών: Ετ. Αναπτύξεως Αγρού ΠΡΟΟ ΟΣ Λτδ, Petrolina Holdings Ltd, D.H. Cyprotels Ltd, Cytrustees Investment Co. Ltd-Κυπριακές, Cytrustees Investment Co. Ltd- ιεθνείς, Atlantic Insurance Company Ltd. Στις 29 Ιανουαρίου άρχισε η διαπραγµάτευση 454.060 συνήθων µετοχών της εταιρείας «PHC Franchised Restaurants Ltd» που προέκυψαν από την άσκηση ικαιωµάτων Αγοράς Μετοχών 2002 της εταιρείας. Στις 30 Ιανουαρίου άρχισε η διαπραγµάτευση 14.028 συνήθων µετοχών της εταιρείας «Severis & Athienitis Financial Services Ltd» οι οποίες προέκυψαν από την άσκηση των ικαιωµάτων Αγοράς Μετοχών της εταιρείας. Στις 30 Ιανουαρίου άρχισε η διαπραγµάτευση 1.495 συνήθων µετοχών της εταιρείας «Salamis Tours (Holdings) Ltd» οι οποίες προέκυψαν από την άσκηση των ικαιωµάτων Αγοράς Μετοχών της εταιρείας. Στις 31 Ιανουαρίου το Συµβούλιο του Χρηµατιστηρίου Αξιών Κύπρου, αποφάσισε µε τη σύµφωνη γνώµη της Επιτροπής Κεφαλαιαγοράς, την επιβολή των ακολούθων προστίµων βάσει των εξουσιών που του παρέχει το Άρθρο 59(4) των περί Αξιών και Χρηµατιστηρίου Αξιών Κύπρου Νόµων:(α) Στις εισηγµένες εταιρείες Confine Investments Ltd, Unigrowth Investments Ltd, Keo Ltd, Unifast Finance & Investments Ltd, και Laser Investments Ltd επιβλήθηκαν πρόστιµα συνολικού ύψους 6,600 για παράβαση του Παραρτήµατος Στ, Κανονισµός 81(1), Παράγραφος 5(1) (β) Στις εισηγµένες εταιρείες F.W. Woolworth & Co (Cyprus Ltd) και Christis Dairies Ltd επιβλήθηκαν πρόστιµα συνολικού ύψους 500 για παράβαση του Παραρτήµατος Στ, Κανονισµός 81(1), Παράγραφος 4(3) (γ) Στις εισηγµένες εταιρείες Φιλοκτηµατική Λτδ, Λαϊκή Υπεραγορά Ορφανίδης Λτδ, Golden Sun Leisure (CY) Ltd, Modestou ΧΑΚ CSE 4

Sound & Vision Ltd, LP Trans Beton Ltd, Andreas Coullapides Ltd, Libra Holidays Group Ltd, D.H. Cyprotels Ltd, Astarti Developments Ltd, Astra Self Drive Cars Ltd και Liberty Life Insurance Ltd, επιβλήθηκαν πρόστιµα συνολικού ύψους 10,000, για παράβαση του Παραρτήµατος Στ, Κανονισµός 81(1), Παράγραφος 11 (δ) Στις εισηγµένες εταιρείες Pierides G. Electrical και Liberty Life Insurance Ltd επιβλήθηκαν πρόστιµα συνολικού ύψους 750 για παράβαση του Παραρτήµατος Στ, Κανονισµός 81(1), Παράγραφος 12(1) (ε) Στις εισηγµένες εταιρείες Cytrustees Investment Co Ltd, Spidernet Services Ltd, Karkotis Manufacturing and Trading Ltd, Top Kinisis Travel Ltd, A/φοι Λανίτη Λτδ, Astra Self Drive Cars Ltd, Palinex Trading, Leptos Calypso Hotels Ltd, Πανδώρα Επενδύσεις, New Marathon Tours Ltd, Τσιµεντοποιία Βασιλικού Λτδ και Worldmax Investment Ltd, επιβλήθηκαν πρόστιµα συνολικού ύψους 3,600 για παράβαση του Παραρτήµατος Στ, Κανονισµός 81(1), Παράγραφος 12(2) (στ) Στις εισηγµένες εταιρείες Marketrends Financial Services και New Marathon Tours Ltd επιβλήθηκαν πρόστιµα συνολικού ύψους 4000 για παράβαση του Παραρτήµατος Στ, Κανονισµός 81(1), Παράγραφος 21(1) (ζ) Στην εισηγµένη εταιρεία Jumbo Trading Ltd επιβλήθηκε πρόστιµο συνολικού ύψους 2750 για παραβάσεις που αφορούσαν την Ετήσια Έκθεση και τους Ετήσιους Λογαριασµούς για το έτος που έληξε στις 30/6/2002. Στις 31 Ιανουαρίου άρχισε η διαπραγµάτευση 5.416.679 ικαιωµάτων Αγοράς Μετοχών (Warrants) της εταιρείας «Rolandos Enterprises Ltd» µε τιµή άσκησης 0.55 κατά την περίοδο 3-14 Μαΐου 2004. Αποφάσεις Συµβουλίου για µη Εισηγµένες Εταιρείες Στις 31 Ιανουαρίου το Συµβούλιο του Χρηµατιστηρίου Αξιών Κύπρου ανακοίνωσε ότι µέχρι το τέλος του Ιανουαρίου 2003 οι αιτήσεις των ακόλουθων εταιρειών για εισαγωγή των τίτλων τους στο ΧΑΚ: Masouras Bros Shipping Ltd, LMZ Transoil Holdings Ltd, A. C. Kitsios Motors Ltd, Hippo Kids Ltd, Pouliades Associates (Cyprus) Ltd, M. S. Choices Group Ltd, Αδελφοί Λαµπριανίδη Λτδ, Μάρκος Νικολάου Λτδ, Eros Travel Tours Ltd, Α/φοί Νεοφύτου Λτδ, A. Papouis Hotels Ltd, Westside Enterprises Ltd, Remedica Holdings Ltd, Άλφα Παναρέτη Λτδ, Εταιρεία Εµπόρων και Βιοµηχάνων Σίτου Λτδ, εξετάσθηκαν και απορρίφθηκαν από το Συµβούλιο του ΧΑΚ. Αποφάσεις Συµβουλίου για Μέλη Στις 22 Ιανουαρίου το Χρηµατιστήριο Αξιών Κύπρου αποφάσισε σύµφωνα µε το Άρθρο 39 των περί Αξιών και Χρηµατιστηρίου Αξιών Κύπρου Νόµων τη διαγραφή της εταιρείας «Clappas Securities Ltd» από Μέλος του Χρηµατιστηρίου, µετά από σχετικό αίτηµα της εταιρείας. Στις 23 Ιανουαρίου το Χρηµατιστήριο Αξιών Κύπρου αποφάσισε σύµφωνα µε το Άρθρο 39 των περί Αξιών και Χρηµατιστηρίου Αξιών Κύπρου Νόµων όπως διαγράψει την εταιρεία Astron Financial Services Ltd από Μέλος του Χρηµατιστηρίου, µετά από σχετικό αίτηµα της εταιρείας. Εξελίξεις ραστηριότητες ΧΑΚ Στις 10 Ιανουαρίου το Συµβούλιο του ΧΑΚ, µετά από την πρόσφατη απόφαση για ένταξη της Κύπρου ως πλήρους Μέλους στην Ευρωπαϊκή Ένωση και µέσα στα πλαίσια της περαιτέρω ευθυγράµµισης της Κυπριακής χρηµατιστηριακής αγοράς µε τις Ευρωπαϊκές χρηµατιστηριακές αγορές, αποφάσισε όπως προχωρήσει σταδιακά στην έκδοση των στατιστικών στοιχείων που περιέχονται σε εκδόσεις του και σε Ευρώ, επιπρόσθετα µε την παρουσίαση τους σε Κυπριακές λίρες. REVIEW OF DEVELOPMENTS IN JANUARY 2003 uring January there was a decrease in Dthe General Price Index and a particular decrease in the value of shares traded compared to December. The various figures and statistics are analysed below: Prices: On the last day of the month the General Price Index was 91,44 points. It is worth to mention, however, that the highest level the index reached for the month was 98,84 points. On a sectoral level, subindices reached the following points: Banking sector 103,28, Approval Investment companies sector 80,41, and Insurance companies sector 19,64, Manufacturing sector 63,06, Tourism sector 99,86, Trading sector 18,90 Building Materials and Construction sector 70,75 Information Technology 3,20, Financial Services 18,04, Fish Culture 13,48, Hotels with 45,64 and finally the Other Companies sector with 84,21 points. Market Capitalisation: The total market capitalisation (shares) reached 2.4 billion from 2.5 billion the previous month registering a decrease of 3,62%. According to this month results the Banking sector accounted for 45,29% of the total market capitalisation, the Other Companies sector 14,08%, and the Tourism sector 2,78%. The Trading sector 4,23%, the Manufacturing sector 9,99%, the Insurance sector 0,74%, the Building and Materials and Construction sector 7,43%, the Information Technology sector 1,12%, the Financial Services sector 5,33%, the Fish Culture sector 0,33%, and finally Hotels sector with 8,67% respectively, of the total market capitalisation. Moreover the total market capitalisation including the Approved Investment Funds, the Warrants the Corporate and Government bonds reached 4.2 billion compared to 4.3 billion the previous month registering a decrease of 3,31%. Transactions: The total value of transactions during the month in review reached 14,6 million with an average of 699 thousand per trading session. The Banks Sector contributed 28,68% of the total value traded, which was the highest, whereas the Corporate Bonds sector had the lowest contribution with 0.18%. Investors primarily focused their interest on the shares of Bank of Cyprus Ltd and Cyprus Popular Bank Ltd with 15,02% and 10,49% respectively. Listed Companies News / Council s decisions about listed Companies From the 3 rd until the 24 th of January the titles of the following companies Agros Development Company "I Proodos" Ltd, Petrolina Holdings Ltd, D.H. Cyprotels Ltd, Cytrustees Investment Co. Ltd-Cypriot, Cytrustees Investment Co. Ltd-International and Atlantic Insurance Company Ltd suspended trading due to the transition of their registers to the CSE Central Register Central Depository. On the 17 th of January 52-week Treasury Bills (01/01/2003-31/12/2003) in total volume of 20.355.000, resulted from an auction on December 30, 2002, started trading. On the 17 th of January 5-year Government Development Stock, 1st Issue, 1st Series (4.75%, 2008) in total volume of 54,304,800, derived from an auction on 30 th December 2002, started trading. On the 17 th of January 2-year Government Development Stock, 1st Issue, 1st Series (4.25%, 2005) in total volume of 25.000.000 derived from an auction on 30 th of December 2002, started trading. On the 20 th of January 42,022 ordinary shares of the company Bank of Cyprus Ltd (which have resulted from the conversion of 52.529 6.75% Convertible Bonds 2003), started trading. On the 23 rd of January 980,000 ordinary shares of the company Liberty Life Insurance Ltd (the shares were offered as a ΧΑΚ CSE 7

bonus to the company's insurance agents/associates), started trading. On the 23 rd of January 13,600 ordinary shares of the company Athina Investments Ltd, started trading. The shares have resulted from the exercise of the company's European Type Warrants 2002, 2004, 2006. On the 24 th of January 2,033,229 warrants of the company Plyntex Ltd, started trading. The warrants have an exercise price of 0.25 each and are exercisable on any business day in October 2003, 2004 and 2005. The 24 th of January, the CSE had undertaken the maintenance of the company s share register within its own Central Share Register.
