Kappa Sigma On April 1, Kappa Sigma Chapter held their philanthropy event called Buy A Kappa Sigma. They were able to raise over $1200 for the organization Leukemia 24/7. Also, on April 13, Kappa Sigma had a clothing drive within the fraternity and were able to donate a truck load of clothes to the Disabled American Veterans (DAV). Lastly, on April 20, Kappa Sigma partnered with Alpha Delta Pi to work with Habitat for Humanity for the day. Pi Kappa Alpha Pi Kappa Alpha had an extremely busy April. First and foremost, they welcomed the Beta Class into the ranks of Pi Kappa Alpha on April 13. Ryan Schreckenberg, Cody Leamy, Patrick Blanar, John Barron, and Christian Hoffmann are now initiated members of Pi Kappa Alpha. In addition, Pike was busy with their event "Shave a Pike, Save a Life, which was to raise money for Relay for Life. It was held April 16 in the PSU. Pike raised $508.27 in just one day, which helped them to achieve their goal of raising $5,000. They actually surpassed their goal and ended up donating $6,289.11 to the cause. Delta Zeta Delta Zeta recently held their spring philanthropy event, Greek Tug, with Sigma Phi Epsilon, and extend their thanks to everyone who participated. They also had a Mocktails event at the Delta Zeta house, and Spring Initiation, as well. The women of Delta Zeta are busy preparing for finals and wish everyone the best of luck for the end of the semester. Pi Kappa Phi Pi Kappa Phi s No Boundaries Week (NOBO Week) began on Sunday March 31 at 11 p.m. Two stationary bikes were placed out in front of the Plaster Student Union. They rode the bikes the entire week for 24 hours a day. Pi Kappa Phi accepted donations and held a competition for the sororities called War of the Roses. The winning sorority was awarded $200 donated to their philanthropy. The winner was Delta Zeta. Second place went to Alpha Delta Pi, and third place went to Alpha Sigma Alpha. Pi Kappa Phi also held their Miss Push America Pageant for the final event. The winner was Peyson Shields of Sigma Kappa. In the end, Pi Kappa Phi raised around $2,100. In addition, Pi Kappa Phi hosted their formal, the Rose Ball, and awarded Henry Smith the Brother of the Year award. Alpha Delta Pi This month, the Alpha Delta Pi chapter held their yearly Teeter Totter-A-Thon fundraiser for their national philanthropy, the Ronald McDonald House. On April 13, the chapter split up with fraternity Theta Chi to cover multiple McDonald's locations to collect donations. At the end of the day, both chapters successfully raised over $1,300 to donate to the Ronald McDonald House.
Xi Omicron Iota Xi Omicron Iota had a wonderful sisterhood week, April 7-13. They had their big sis reveal, which is always the highlight of the semester, a movie night, a trip to The Cup downtown, and a picture day at Phelps Grove Park. The week ended when Xi Omicron Iota initiated our newest class. Congratulations to the Psi Class! Sigma Kappa The ladies of Sigma Kappa had their annual Dad s Day this past weekend on April, 13. Activities included a grill out with their fathers followed by an exciting Springfield Cardinals game! Also, Rock to Remember, Sigma Kappa s philanthropy event benefitting the Alzheimer s Association, was very successful. For example he is willing to participate and assist in many events throughout the year, such as Yell Like Hell and Greek Jam.
