After a preparation meeting held in Innsbruck in October 2010, with the participation of Prof. M. A.Pinto from the University La Sapienza in Rome, Prof. U. Jessner from the University of Innsbruck, and the MATIG project s P.I., a common ground has been found for the development of research on metalinguistic awareness, through the translation and validation of existing MATs, reflected in the article published in the specialized journal Language Awareness (Pinto, Jessner & Androulakis, 2011). With his experience in conducting a large-scale survey through questionnaires (project: Multilingualism: exploration of the diversity of the European contexts in school, for which the Greek team, under his supervision, administrated 2,400 questionnaires), Dr Androulakis and the Greek Language Lab may guarantee that this research will be undertaken in good conditions and with a probability of relevant, appropriate and ground-breaking outputs. 8
