The title compound was synthesized according to a known procedure. 57 (Diacetoxyiodo)benzene (0.5 mmol) was added to a solution of 3-(4-hydroxyphenyl)-3-phenylpropanal 15 (0.5 mmol) in glacial AcH (2.0 ml) at 0 C.
