1 THE SOURCE December 2015 Issue #12-15 HOLY TRINITY GREEK ORTHODOX CATHEDRAL CAMP HILL, PA My dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ, Truly, there does not exist a human Christian heart that is not moved when the hymn of St. Kosmas the Melodian is chanted: Christ is born, glorify him. Christ hath come from the Heavens, Receive him. Christ is on earth, let us be elevated. Sing unto the Lord, all the earth; and ye nations Praise him with joy; for he hath been glorified. For these holy days in the winter, our heart beats secretly when hearing these words. Our soul is rejoicing. Christ lives in us and spontaneously our body is warmed and all of our being is exuberant. During these days of Christmas there exists one very essential goal that we desire and pursue to attain. These days we offer the cave of our existence so that Christ will be born in it. These days we want Christ to come to us also. Our Holy Church has sanctioned the Lent of Christmas to help us to accomplish this challenge. Our spiritual struggle and discipline is imperative so it will be productive. If our desire to celebrate Christmas with Christ is essential; if our participation in this festival of Heaven and Earth, where Angels, Shepherds, Wise Men and Saints prevail, is deemed necessary; If Christ who is born, is for me and for you the One that stirs our inner self and from this event of His birth, we want to develop our life; If seriously with respect, love and devotion, we pray and beseech to celebrate a holy Christmas; THEN we will pursue, all of us, to purify the cave of our souls with repentance, to fragrance it by our prayers, and with our merciful heart to decorate it with virtues and a spiritual discipline so that we may offer it with all of ourselves to Christ so He may be born in it. Our Church motivates us with the hymns: Oh Bethlehem, be ready; manger be adorned Let us prepare to decorate the manger of our souls because Christ is born. The God of Heaven and Earth comes here where we, the people, live, and He appears in our image because He becomes man for us from love so as to raise us up and to give us the honor, the joy, the glory and the brightness of the Heaven of His Kingdom. Christ wants to be born in each of us and He seeks to find His cave, He seeks for each of us. When we obey with reverence and care to the voice of our Church and we do what is humanly possible to be ready for the celebration, then we understand and we also mingle our voice and exclaim together with the Hymn: Christ is born, glorify him How loudly our Church emphasizes the constant presence in time of the sacred event of our faith Christ is born It does not say was born but is born. The Church uses the present tense to say that now Christ is born. That way, Christians will know when they hear it or when they read it or when they chant it that the

2 THE SOURCE DECEMBER 2015 Page 2 words is born signify one new birth of Christ in each of us. NOW, this instant, Christ is born; prepare your cave - - -He says to each one. Get rid of every evil act or thought that is inside of you and run to greet Him. Raise yourself from the earth and all the earthly cares so you may give your love to Him who now comes to earth for you. Think what gift or what gifts you will offer Him, like the Wise Men and the Shepherds. Do not forget especially to offer Him your sins through the sacrament of Holy Confession because that is how the impure part of your heart will empty so you will accept the Coming Christ as an infant. Do not be late; do not delay now. Christ is born. Now receive Him in the manger of your soul. If Christ is not born mystically in our inner Bethlehem and we are not in communion personally with His incarnation, the dark cave of our hearts will never become heaven, just like it happened then, two thousand years ago when He that could not all be contained, he was contained in the womb of the Virgin and born in the humble cave. What human soul is not grateful to the Savior of the world for His gift of His incarnation from the Virgin Mary and His presence in the human race? Through Him, we can be saved, we can see the face of God and we can be sanctified. Who would be a true Christian if he/she does not want to find the way to celebrate Christmas, truthfully? We, the Orthodox Christians, celebrate Christmas with thanksgivings and glorifications, with a pure heart and with all good initiatives that make God happy and glorious. With care and diligence let us nourish the poor, let us clothe the naked, let us feed the hungry, let us give water to the thirsty, let us take care of the sick, let us visit the prisoners and let us give hospitality to the strangers. I beseech you my brothers, sisters and friends to prepare yourselves as is proper for the holiday of the birth of our Master Christ. All of you pray so that we may be honored to have happiness in the celebration of His coming. Amen. I hope and pray with all my heart for you to have a Holy Christmas. 3 THE SOURCE DECEMBER 2015 Page 3 Aγαπητοί μου αδελφοί, Πράγματι, δέν υπάρχει ανθρώπινη Χριστιανική καρδιά πού νά μήν συγκινείται όταν ψάλλεται ο ύμνος τού Αγίου Κοσμά τού Μελωδού: «Χριστός γεννάται, δοξάσατε. Χριστός εξ ουρανών, απαντήσατε. Χριστός επί γής, υψώθητε, άσατε τώ Κυρίω πάσα η γή καί εν ευφροσύνη, ανυμνήσατε λαοί, ότι δεδόξασται.» Αυτές τίς άγιες ημέρες, μέσα στόν χειμώνα, η καρδιά μας πάλλει παράξενα στό άκουσμα αυτών τών λέξεων. Η ψυχή μας αναγαλλιάζει. Ο Χριστός κατοικεί σέ μάς καί αυθόρμητα καί τό κορμί μας ζεσταίνεται καί ολόκληρος ο ψυχοσωματικός μας κόσμος χαίρεται. Αυτές τίς ημέρες τού «Αγίου Δωδεκαημέρου» υπάρχει ένας πολύ ουσιαστικός λόγος πού ποθούμε καί επιδιώκουμε νά πραγματοποιηθή. Αυτές τίς μέρες προσφέρουμε, δίνουμε τό σπήλαιο τής υπαρξής μας γιά νά γεννηθή μέσα ο Χριστός. Αυτές τίς μέρες θέλουμε ο Χριστός νάλθη καί σέ μάς. Η Αγία μας Εκκλησία έχει καθιερώσει τήν νηστεία τών Χριστουγέννων γιά νά μάς βοηθήση νά πραγματοποιήσουμε αυτόν τόν σκοπόν. Η άσκησή μας στήν εγκράτεια καί τήν αρετή είναι απαραίτητη γιά νά αποδώσει τούς καρπούς πού επιδιώκουμε. Αν ο πόθος μας νά εορτάσωμε Χριστούγεννα μέ τόν Χριστό είναι ουσιαστικός. Αν η συμμετοχή μας στό πανηγύρι τούτο τού Ουρανού καί τής γής, όπου Αγγελοι, Ποιμένες, Mάγοι καί Αγιοι πρωτοστατούν, κρίνεται απαραίτητη. Αν ο Χριστός πού γεννάται είναι καί γιά μένα καί γιά σένα ένα γεγονός πού συνταράσσει τό είναι μας καί από τό οποίο θέλουμε νά εξαρτήσουμε τό νόημα καί τό περιεχόμενο τής ζωής μας. Αν ειλικρινά μέ σεβασμό, αγάπη καί αφοσίωση προσευχόμαστε καί παρακαλούμε νά εορτάσουμε ιερά Χριστούγεννα. ΤΟΤΕ θά επιδιώξω εγώ, εσύ, όλοι μας τό σπήλαιο τής ψυχής μας νά τό καθαρίσουμε από τίς αδυναμίες καί τά πάθη, μέ τήν μετάνοια καί τήν εγκράτεια, νά τό θυμιάσουμε μέ τίς προσευχές μας καί τήν ελεήμονα καρδιά μας νά τό στολίσουμε μέ αρετές από αγώνα πνευματικό γιά νά τό προσφέρουμε μέ όλον μας τόν εαυτό στόν Χριστό νά γεννηθή σ αυτό. Η Εκκλησία μάς παρακινεί μέ τούς ύμνους «Βηθλεέμ, ετοιμάζου, ευπρεπιζέσθω η φάτνη...». Νά ετοιμασθούμε νά στολίσουμε τήν φάτνη τής ψυχής μας γιατί ο «Χριστός γεννάται...». Ο Θεός τού Ουρανού καί τής γής έρχεται εδώ όπου ζούμε εμείς οι άνθρωποι καί φανερώνεται μέ τήν δική μας μορφή γιατί γίνεται άνθρωπος γιά μάς από αγάπη ώστε νά μάς ανεβάση καί νά μάς χαρίση τήν τιμή, τήν χαρά, τήν δόξα καί τήν λαμπρότητα τών Ουρανών τής Βασιλείας Του. Ο Χριστός θέλει νά γεννηθή στόν καθένα μας καί ψάχνει νάβρει τό σπήλαιό Του, ψάχνει γιά τόν καθένα μας. Καί εμείς αφού υπακούσουμε μέ ιερότητα καί σπουδή στής Εκκλησίας τή φωνή καί ανθρώπινα κάνουμε τό πάν γιά νά είμαστε έτοιμοι γιά τό γιορτάσι τότε καταλαβαίνουμε ότι σμίγουμε καί εμείς τή φωνή μας καί αναφωνούμε μαζί μέ τόν Ψαλμωδό τό, πράγματι, «Χριστός γεννάται, δοξάσατε...». Πόσο μεγαλόφωνα τονίζει η Εκκλησία μας τήν υπερχρονικότητα τών σωτηριωδών γεγονότων τής πίστεώς μας «Χριστός γεννάται...». Δέν λέγει εγενήθη αλλά «γεννάται». Βάζει η Εκκλησία χρόνο ενεστώτα γιά νά πή ότι τώρα ο Χριστός γεννάται. Γιά νά γνωρίζει ο Χριστιανός πού τό ακούει η τό διαβάζει ή τό ψάλλει ότι τό «γεννάται» δηλώνει μιά καινούργια γέννηση τού Χριστού μέσα του: Tώρα, αυτή τή στιγμή, «γεννάται» ο Χριστός, ετοίμασε τό σπηλαιό σου --λέγει στόν καθένα μας. Διώξε από μέσα σου κάθε αμαρτωλή σου πράξη ή σκέψι καί τρέξε νά Τόν προϋπαντήσεις. Υψώσου από τή γή καί από τά γήϊνα, γιά νά δώσεις τήν αγάπη σου όλη σ Εκείνον πού τώρα κατεβαίνει στή γή γιά σένα. Σκέψου τί δώρο ή τί δώρα θά Τού προσφέρεις, όπως οι Μάγοι καί οι Ποιμένες. Μή λησμονήσεις κυρίως νά Τού προσφέρεις τίς αμαρτίες σου διά τού μυστηρίου τής

4 THE SOURCE DECEMBER 2015 Page 4 Ιεράς Εξομολογήσεως γιατί έτσι θ αδειάσει ο τόπος ο ακάθαρτος στή καρδιά σου γιά νά φιλοξενήσης τόν Ερχόμενον σάν νήπιο. Μήν αργείς, μήν αναβάλλεις, τώρα «Χριστός γεννάται». Τώρα υποδέξου Τον στήν φάτνη τής ψυχής σου. Γιατί, άν πράγματι, ο Χριστός δέν γεννηθεί μυστικά στή μέσα μας Βηθλεέμ καί δέν κοινωνήσουμε προσωπικά τήν ενανθρώπισή Του, η σκοτεινή σπηλιά τής καρδιάς μας ποτέ δέν πρόκειται νά γίνει ουρανός, όπως έγινε τότε πρίν δυό χιλιάδες χρόνια, όταν ο «αχώρητος παντί, εν τή γαστρί τής Παρθένου εχωρήθη» καί γεννήθηκε στό ταπεινό σπήλαιο. Ποιά ανθρώπινη ψυχή δέν ευγνωμονεί τόν Σωτήρα τού κόσμου γιά τήν δωρεά τούτη τής σαρκώσεως Του από τήν Παναγία Παρθένο καί τήν παραμονή Του έκτοτε στό ανθρώπινο γένος τό οποίο δύναται νά σώζεται, νά βλέπει πρόσωπον Θεού, νά αγιάζεται καί νά θεώνεται; Ποιός αλήθεια Χριστιανός δέν θά θελήσει νάβρει τόν τρόπο νά γιορτάσει Χριστούγεννα αληθινά; Εμείς οι Ορθόδοξοι Χριστιανοί γιορτάζουμε Χριστούγεννα «...μέ ευχαριστίες καί δοξολογίες, μέ καθαράν καρδίαν μέ όσα χαίρεται καί δοξάζεται ο Θεός». Μέ φροντίδα λοιπόν καί επιμέλεια άς θρέψωμε τούς πτωχούς, άς ενδύσωμε τούς γυμνούς, άς χορτάσωμε τούς πεινασμένους, άς ποτίσωμε τούς διψασμένους, άς κοιτάξωμε τούς ασθενείς, άς επικεφθώμεν τούς φυλακισμένους, άς φιλοξενήσωμε τούς ξένους. Σάς παρακαλώ, αδελφοί καί φίλοι μου νά ετοιμασθήτε καθώς πρέπει διά τήν εορτή τής γεννήσεως τού Δεσπότου Χριστού. Νά προσευχόμαστε όλοι μας νά αξιωθούμε νά χαρούμε τήν εορτή τού ερχομού Του. Αμήν. Σάς εύχομαι μέ όλη μου τήν καρδιά νά έχετε Αγια Χριστούγεννα, Είς τήν διακονίαν Του μέ αγάπη, Ο Ιερεύς σας, π. Μιχαήλ Ε. 8 THE SOURCE DECEMBER 2015 Page 8 A NOTE FROM THE PARISH COUNCIL Dear Parishioners In early November, we had the meeting to kickoff planning for our 2016 Festival that s right, it s time to start planning for the Festival already. As you know, the Festival is not just 3 days in May. It takes many months of hard work and preparation. Materials must be ordered. Desserts and pastries must be baked. Mousaka and Pastistsio must be prepared. Ads are sold. Signs are hung. The grounds and social hall are prepared. Volunteers are sought. There are over 1000 people in our community. It takes the talents and time of each and every one of us to ensure a successful festival. As you rest up over the Holidays, please think about how you can serve your Church after the New Year and make an even greater commitment to helping in our Festival. Consider taking a ½ day vacation on one of the Tuesdays to come in and help bake Pastries. Preparing Mousaka and Pastitsio requires many consecutive hours over two separate long weekends. Many hands make light work. For those of you with Restaurant/Kitchen experience, we REALLY need more hands in the kitchen, especially during Mousaka/Pastistio prep and for the week of the Festival. It is a physically demanding job, and we need more experienced people able to help and willing to stick to the recipes that have been pleasing our guests for over 40 years. Consider co chairing one of the committees. It s a great way to learn and gives much needed relief to the primary chair person. For example, Rob Bowersox and I share responsibility on the Saganaki booth. We work great as a team and either one of us could fill in for the other in an emergency. When the time comes, please COMMIT by signing up or telling the Festival chairpersons WHERE you can help and AT WHAT TIMES. Making specific commitments helps us to plan. It s not enough to just say I ll be there at some point I d like to thank Sam Kolokithas for volunteering again to lead our Festival efforts in He will be sharing the committee leadership and schedules soon, so be on the lookout, and COMMIT. There are many miracles of healing associated with this myhrr streaming icon of the Mother of God. 12 THE SOURCE DECEMBER 2015 Page 12 OLYMPIC FLAMES A group of our Junior/Senior Dancers attended and performed at the Metropolis Folk Dance Festival in Pittsburgh during the weekend of November Our parish was one of 19 parishes that attended the Festival. There were 250 dancers at this year s festival. Our dancers took part in dance workshops run by professional Greek Folk dance instructors and on Saturday evening they performed a routine choreographed by Billy Mallios and Vicky Milonopoulos. They did a wonderful job!! Congratulations, we are very proud of you. The dancers performing were Peter Ariano, John and Lambrini Balafoutas, Mia Demopoulos, Sophia Hershey, Athanasia, Kalliope and Vasoula Petsinis, Maria Shay, Ana Sparages, Abby and John Sipling and Nicole Zahos. The Olympic Flames wish to thank the Parish Council for their monetary assistance with our festival transportation costs. Many thanks also to the parents, dancers and parishioners who supported our two festival fundraisers (Gyro and Loukoumades Sales). The Olympic Flames will be on holiday break during the month of December. We will resume practices in January. Plans for 2016 include an Opacize Fundraiser, dance mini-workshop as well as preparing for our church s 2016 Festival.

JOACHIM AND ANNA Our November meeting was held on Tuesday, November 3 nd at 11:00 p.m. Father Michael, Presvytera Maria and Anna Ntzanis hosted the luncheon in honor of Fr. Michael s Name Day. New officers were elected for the coming year. They include Jim Lloyd, President; Pete Capataides, Vice President; Kiki Lloyd, Secretary; and Mary Touloumes, Treasurer. Fr. Michael shared his story about becoming a priest with the group. On Monday, November 9 th, a group of members went to the Susan H. Arnold Art Gallery at Lebanon Valley College to see the collection of Russian icons. A private tour of the exhibit was hosted by the gallery s director, Barbara McNulty. She was informative and knowledgeable and everyone appreciated the hospitality of Barbara and her staff. On Tuesday, December 8 th, Holy Trinity will be hosting the annual Senior Citizen s Christmas Party and Program. Seniors from the parishes in the Easter Region of the Metropolis will be joining us. The event will begin at 11:00 a.m. with a service in the church followed by a luncheon and entertainment. Attendance is not limited to members of Sts. Joachim and Anna Society. Both the Merit Scholarships and the General Scholarships will be awarded to qualified recipients. Merit recipients will receive a minimum $1, and General Scholarship recipients will receive a minimum of $500. Please note that the scholarship is renewable four times, and does not have to be in consecutive years. Requirements are: 1.) 18 THE SOURCE DECEMBER 2015 Page 18 Dear Holy Trinity Stewards, Below are the remarks made for Stewardship Sunday. Yours in Christ, George J. Spanos Parish Council President Jimmy Senos Parish Council Stewardship Chairman Those that seek the Lord shall not want for any good thing. That verse from Psalm 34:10 and the hymn we sing at the Artoclasia is the theme for this year s Stewardship Program. Each month as I write for the Source newsletter, and each year, as I prepare to address you on Stewardship Sunday, I look for the words to inform and perhaps inspire you towards a greater relationship with our Lord through Stewardship. Sometimes, when the words don t come, I resort to coercion, fear, or embarrassment. Fr. Michael has been talking to our children this fall about the subject of - what is God s Will for us, and how do we know? Listening to him, it occurred to me that the reason we should be good Stewards is because it is God s will for us. When we recite the Lord s prayer, we pray that THY will be done, not MY will be done. So how do we know God s will? As Father Michael instructs the children, we look to the words in Scripture and from the writings of the Saints and the Fathers of our Church. So this year, rather than come up with my own words about Stewardship, I share with you the words from Scripture, the Saints and the Fathers of our Church. First, we learn that everything comes from God including the time we have on this earth, and the talents we each uniquely possess. We are not giving what is ours, but only returning to God what is possible for HIS will. All things come from you, and your own we have given you 1 Chronicles 29:14 You will never overcome God s generosity, even if you give away all that you have And however much you bring to him, always more remains. Nor will you give anything that is your own; for all things flow from God St. Gregory the Theologian Each one of us is the steward of the gifts which God has bestowed, both our material wealth and our natural abilities. We do not own those gifts; they belong to God St. John Chrysostom They are to be used according to the principles which God has laid down and each one of us is answerable to God as to whether those principles have been followed. St. John Chrysostom We are encouraged to give to our Lord FIRST and not from our leftovers. We are also encouraged to give regularly, not just once a year before 12/31 so we can get the tax benefit. Honor the Lord with your substance and with the first fruits of all your produce Proverbs 3:9 Every Sunday let each of you put aside your offering for the work of the Lord 1 Corinthians 16:2 Scripture also talks to us about the attitude we are to have while we are giving and to NOT have the expectation that you give to the church in proportion to whatever services or benefit you receive in return. Each man should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a Cheerful Giver 2 Corinthians 9:7 The Lord said, "and as you wish that men would do to you, do so to them. If you love those who love you,

19 THE SOURCE DECEMBER 2015 Page 19 what credit is that to you? For even sinners love those who love them. And if you do good to those who do good to you, what credit is that to you? For even sinners do the same. And if you lend to those from whom you hope to receive, what credit is that to you? Even sinners lend to sinners, to receive as much again. But love your enemies, and do good, and lend, expecting nothing in return; and your reward will be great Luke 6:31-35 Our Faith is practical. In her wisdom, the Church knows that are not all equally blessed. This is why we have Stewardship, and not dues. Every man shall give as he is able, according to the blessings of the Lord your God which He has given you. Deuteronomy 16:17 Truly I tell you, this poor widow has put in more than all of them; for they all contributed out of their abundance; but she out of her poverty, put in all the living that she had Luke 21:1-4 But we are also reminded to not take advantage of this accommodation. For where your treasure is there will be your heart also Matthew 6:21 He who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully (II Cor, 9:7) Then he will say to those on his left, Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. For I was hungry and you gave me nothing to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me nothing to drink, I was a stranger and you did not invite me in, I needed clothes and you did not clothe me, I was sick and in prison and you did not look after me Matthew 25:41 In particular, God s word speaks differently to those of us who have been blessed in abundance. What shall I render unto the LORD for all his benefits toward me? Psalm 116:12 From everyone who has been given much, much will be required Luke 12:48 What good is it, dear brothers and sisters, if you say you have faith but don t show it by your actions? So you see, faith by itself isn t enough. Unless it produces good deeds, it is dead and useless. How foolish! Can t you see that faith without good deeds is useless? -- 2 James Lastly, we are taught not to be insular and only look out after our own. St. Matthew writes of the Great Commission Therefore, go and make disciples of ALL nations baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit Matthew 28:19 I am inspired by what our Church can be. I see a Cathedral of faithful, loving people working together to accomplish God s Will. I see a church so bountiful in its blessings that we can reach beyond the cocoon of our Greek Orthodox neighbors in Central Pennsylvania for which this is the closest and most convenient church. I see a CHURCH that has an impact on the broader community, our country and even our World. WE have the means to make a difference, to be exceptional. It s called our Festival. Imagine the good that can be done with the proceeds of our Festival. Now is the time. It s time for us as an Orthodox community to mature, step up and accept the responsibility that has been placed on us by funding 100% of our Church s needs through Stewardship by remembering, To whom much has been given, much is expected. I d like to close with a few updates that have been in the Source, in weekly bulletins and in your Stewardship packet:

20 THE SOURCE DECEMBER 2015 Page You ve seen that there have been many projects that have taken place or are planned to upgrade and improve our facility including a new HVAC system, new carpet and possible a marble floor on the Solea. These projects were made possible by our building endowment funds and a generous donation from the estates of John Prokop and Freda Vladyka. The money contributed to our endowment funds can ONLY be used for those purposes and CANNOT be used to fund day to day operating expenses. 2. This year, we are using a new procedure to collect your Stewardship Pledge. Instead of a blank card, we have generated a letter with your personal information and history on it as well as a stewardship form. Fill out the 2016 Pledge Form at the bottom of the letter, detach it and submit it using the return envelope provided. There will be a tray in the Narthex to receive your commitment if you brought it with you today. 3. As we finish out the year in 2015, because of some one-time expenses, we expect we may have to borrow somewhere between $50,000-$100,000 to meet our 2015 budget. Our community has the means to respond to this challenge. Six years ago, in 2009, our Stewardship was $281,000. Last year, it was approximately $221,000. As of 11/18, it stands at $241,000. Please bring your 2015 pledge current today. 4. It takes about $1,200 per year per family to sustain our Church. If you give regularly, this is $23/week. It is harder to write one check for $1,200 than it is to set aside $23 each week. Please use the envelope system to do as St. Paul says Every Sunday let each of you put aside your offering for the work of the Lord 5. For those in our community who have been blessed in abundance, we need you to give MORE than $1,200 per year. Currently, 52 families, or about 1 in 7 families give $1,200 or more. We need more people to give at that level. 6. One of the details in your Stewardship letter this year is a five year history of your giving. If you ve been giving the same amount, please consider increasing your pledge since our church s expenses rise slightly each year. Please give prayerful consideration to the commitment you are making and remember that a check mailed to the church is most meaningful when accompanied by your presence, by your willingness to serve, by your prayers, and by your commitment. Giving is not a substitute for commitment it is an expression of your commitment. Your financial support must also be accompanied by your presence, by your willingness to serve, and by your prayers. 24 THE SOURCE DECEMBER 2015 Page 24 ΕΛΛΗΝΙΚΟ ΣΧΟΛΕΙΟ Την Τεταρτη 28 Οκτωβριου τα παιδια του Ελληνικου σχολειου γιορτασαν την Επετειο της 28 ης Οκτωβριου 1940 παρουσιαζοντας προγραμμα με ποιηματα και τραγουδια. Εκ μερους των δασκαλων θα ηθελα να ευχαριστησω τον Πατερα Μιχαηλ για τις προσωπικες του ιστοριες, τον ομιλητη του προγραμματος Κο Γιωργο Γιανναρη το Π.Τ.Ο για το δειπνο και ολους που παραβρεθηκαν. ΓΚΟΓΙΑ Τα μελη του Γκογια το Σαββατο 5 Δεκεμβριου θα επισκεφτουν το Ταυλορ, ΠΑ να προσκυνησουν την δακρυζουσα εικονα της Παναγιας. Θα αναχωρησουμε στις 8:00 π.μ. απο την εκκλησια και υπολογιζουμε να επιστρεψουμε στις 4:00 μ.μ.μπορειτε Να φερετε μαζι σας γευμα και σνακς.τηλεφωνειστε στον Πατερα Μαρκο αν ενδιαφερεστε να ερθετε. Τα μελη θα πανε για τα καλαντα στις 11 και 12 Δεκεμβριου. Την Κυριακη 20 Δεκεμβριου θα εχουν πωληση γλυκισματων. Στις 8 Ιανουαριου θα γινει στην κοινοτητα μας του τουρνουα για Ντατζμπωλλ που θα λαβουν μερος κοινοτητες του ανατολικου τμηματος της Μητροπολης. ΧΟΡΕΥΤΙΚΟΣ ΟΜΙΛΟΣ ΟΛΥΜΠΙΑΚΗ ΦΛΟΓΑ Ο ομιλος πηρε μερος στο χορευτικο φεστιβαλ της Μητροπολης που εγινε στις 13 και 14 Νοεμβριου στο Πιτσμπουργκ.Παραβρεθηκαν 250 μελη απο 19 κοινοτητες της Μητροπολης.Τα παιδια του ομιλου μας χορεψαν το Σαββατο χορους που χορογραφησαν η Βασιλικη Μυλωνοπουλου και ο Βασιλης Μαλλιος. Χορεψαν τα παρακατω παιδια: Παναγιωτης Αριανο, Ιωαννης και Λαμπρινη Μπαλαφουτα,Μαρια Δημοπουλου,Σοφια Χερσεη, Αθανασια, Καλλιοπηκαι Βασουλα Πετσινη, Μαρια Σε, Αννα Σπαρατζη,Λαμπρινη και Γιαννης Σιμπλιν και η Νικολ Ζαχου. Συγχαρητηρια σε ολα τα παιδια!τα μελη του ομιλου ευχαριστουν το Κοινοτικο συμβουλιο για την χρηματικη βοηθεια και τους γονεις που βοηθησαν με την πωληση γλυκισματων.δεν θα εχουν προβες τον μηνα Δεκεμβριο. ΦΙΛΟΠΤΩΧΟΣ Χριστουγεννιατικο Παρτυ- Κυριακη 3 Ιανουαριου στις 1:00 μ.μ. στο εστιατοριο Γκιλλιγκανς.Για πληροφοριες και κρατησεις θεσεων θα υπαρχει τραπεζι στην αιθουσα της εκκλησιας. Κυριακη 6 Δεκεμβριου- του Αγιου Νικολαου νηστησιμο γευμα.μετα την Θεια Λειτουργια στην αιθουσα της εκκλησιας. Τα εσοδα θα σταλλουν στην Ελλαδα. Δεν θα πωλουνται εισιτηρια η εισφορα σας για το τον σκοπο αυτο θα ειναι ανεκτιμητη. Φιλοπτωχος- Κατηχητικο Σχολειο- κοινοτητα IOCC xρειαζεται πακετα υγειινης και μπορειτε να τα φερετε στην εκκλησια μεχρι τις 25 Δεκεμβριου. ΣΥΛΛΟΓΟΣ ΙΩΑΚΕΙΜ ΚΑΙ ΑΝΝΑ Στην συγκεντρωση του Νοεμβριου το γευμα προσφεραν ο Πατερας Μιχαηλ,Πρεσβυτερα Μαρια και η Αννα Ντζανη προς τιμη της εορτης του Πατρος Μιχαηλ. Τα νεα μελη του συμβουλιου για το νεο ετος ειναι: Προεδρος Δημητρης Λλοιντ Αντιπροεδρος Πητ Καπεταιδης Γραμματεας Αγγελικη Λλοιντ Ταμιας Μαιρη Τουλουμη Την Δευτερα 9 Νοεμβριου επισκεφτηκαν στο Κολλεγιο Λεμπανον Βαλλεη οπου ηταν η εκθεση Ρωσικων εικονων απο το μουσειο Κλιντον της Μασαχουσετης.Την Τριτη 8 Δεκεμβριου η κοινοτητα μας Θα εχει το ετησιο Χριστουγεννιατικο Προγραμμα των ηλικιωμενων απο τις γειτονικες κοινοτητες.θα αρχισει στις 11:00 π.μ. με Παράκληση και μετα γευμα.
