Welcome to the Saint Spyridon Cathedral in Worcester, Massachusetts. We are honored that you have chosen to worship with us today. Our Church Family worships the Holy Trinity (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit) and every Sunday, the Lord s Day, we commemorate the Resurrection of Jesus Christ. Our mission is to live the Holy Gospel in accordance with the Orthodox Faith; towards sanctification through God s grace in worship, the Divine Liturgy and the Sacraments: glorifying God through all joys and struggles; and as a Church Community, in Christian love, we seek to do His will so that through His mercy, we may attain His Kingdom. We are blessed to have the slippers of St. Spyridon, which are located in a reliquary at the front-left of the Church; please be sure to venerate them. In Judah God is known; His name is great in Israel. St. Paul's Letter to the Romans 13:11-14:4 Brethren, salvation is nearer to us now than when we first believed; the night is far gone, the day is at hand. Let us then cast off the works of darkness and put on the armor of light; let us conduct ourselves becomingly as in the day, not in reveling and drunkenness, not in debauchery and licentiousness, not in quarreling and jealousy. But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to gratify its desires. As for the man who is weak in faith, welcome him, but not for disputes over opinions. One believes he may eat anything, while the weak man eats only vegetables. Let not him who eats despise him who abstains, and let not him who abstains pass judgment on him who eats; for God has welcomed him. Who are you to pass judgment on the servant of another? It is before his own master that he stands or falls. And he will be upheld, for God is able to make him stand.

And when you fast, do not look dismal, like the hypocrites, for they disfigure their faces that their fasting may be seen by men. Truly, I say to you, they have received their reward. But when you fast, anoint your head and wash your face, that your fasting may not be seen by men but by your Father who is in secret; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you. Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust consume and where thieves break in and steal, but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust consumes and where thieves do not break in and steal. 11 LENTEN SERVICES Start Great Lent with us TODAY with Forgiveness Vespers, immediately following Divine Liturgy. This service allows us to come to one another and ask forgiveness and begin Great Lent on the right note. Tomorrow, Monday March 11th, we will as also have Great Compline, which is a beautiful service that perfectly captures the penitential and prayerful tone of Lent. That service will begin at 7:00pm Saturday, March 16th we have the 3rd and last Saturday of Souls. 8:30 Divine Liturgy & 9:30am Please bring the names of your deceased loved ones to church be read in the memorial service at the end of the Divine Liturgy. You are also encouraged to bring koliva in memory of your loved ones. JOHN CHRYSOSTOM ORATORICAL FESTIVAL Last Sunday, eight students, grades 7-12, prepared and delivered speeches on a range of religious topics as part of the St. John Chrysostom Oratorical Festival Below are the results of this year's festival at St. Spyridon's Orthodox Cathedral. The first place winner from each division will move on to the Metropolis Festival on May 11. Junior Division First - Valentino Dardas Second - Tasha Tonna Third - Alexandra Mattioli Senior Division First - Menexia Hatzopoulos Second - Christina Tonna Third - Bella Vangos Honorable Mention - Vasiliki Hatzopoulos, Eftihia Fotos GOYA BASKETBALL Our GOYA Basketball season has come to a close! Our teams finished their seasons strong, but ultimately fell in the playoffs. Congratulations to all our players for the hard work you put in this year, and Thank You to our coaches for dedicating so much time and teaching to this important ministry. Both teams showed a lot of promise for the years to come and we are excited to see what happens next season! Congratulations to our students!

13 LENTEN PRAYER OF ST. EPHRAIM This prayer is said during Great Lent at nearly every service. It captures the intended focus of repentance: our own sins temptations. We are called not to look for personal gain, not to judge our brothers and sisters, but to seek a spirit of humility and love. O Lord and Master of my life! Take from me the laziness, curiosity, lust of power, and idle talk. But give rather the spirit of chastity, humility, patience, and love to Your servant. Yes, Lord and King! Grant me to see my own sins and not to judge my brothers and sisters, for You are blessed unto ages of ages. Amen.
