3 Epistle - St. Paul's Letter to the Galatians 4:22-27 Prokeimenon. Grave Mode. Psalm 63.11,1 The righteous shall rejoice in the Lord. Verse: Oh God, hear my cry. The reading is from St. Paul's Letter to the Galatians 4:22-27 B rethren, Abraham had two sons, one by a slave and one by a free woman. But the son of the slave was born according to the flesh, the son of the free woman through promise. Now this is an allegory: these women are two covenants. One is from Mount Sinai, bearing children for slavery; she is Hagar. Now Hagar is Mount Sinai in Arabia; she corresponds to the present Jerusalem, for she is in slavery with her children. But the Jerusalem above is free, and she is our mother. For it is written, "Rejoice, O barren one who does not bear; break forth and shout, you who are not in travail; for the children of the desolate one are many more than the children of her that is married. But the ruler of the synagogue, indignant because Jesus had healed on the sabbath, said to the people, "There are six days on which work ought to be done; come on those days and be healed, and not on the sabbath day." Then the Lord answered him, "You hypocrites! Does not each of you on the sabbath untie his ox or his donkey from the manger, and lead it away to water it? And ought not this woman, a daughter of Abraham whom Satan bound for eighteen years, be loosed from this bond on the sabbath day?" 6 S T EWA R D S H I P S U N DAY Annual Stewardship Prayer Adapted from the Liturgy of Saint Basil the Great Priest: People: Let us pray to the Lord. Lord, have mercy. Priest and People Together: O Lord our God, as we prepare ourselves for Your coming into the world as the Christ -Child, born humbly in a cave, to be laid in a manger, we show our gratitude for bringing us into this life, and the blessings you have bestowed upon us and our loved ones. You showed us the way to salvation and have granted us the revelation of the heavenly mysteries. Accept our Stewardship Offering as an acceptable sacrifice and in return send down upon us the gift and the grace of Your All-Holy Spirit. Look down on us, O Lord, and accept our Stewardship Commitment as You accepted the gifts of Abel, the offerings of Noah, the burnt offerings of Abraham, the priestly sacrifices of Moses and Aaron, the peace offerings of Samuel, and the gifts and worship of the Christmas Magi. Accept also now, in your goodness, O Lord, these gifts from the hands of us sinners, making us worthy of the reward of the faithful and wise stewards on the fearful day of Your just judgment. For You are the God of mercy, love and salvation and we glorify You, the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, now and forever and to the ages of ages. People: Amen.

8 Potluck Patristics BOOK STUDY Our Potluck Patristics Book Study is meeting on Monday, December 10, with The Divine Liturgy: A Commentary in the Light of the Fathers. The meeting will start at 6pm with a potluck dinner and the discussion will start at 6:30pm.
