3 Epistle - St. Paul's Second Letter to the Corinthians 4:6-15 Prokeimenon. Mode 4. Psalm 67.35,26 God is wonderful among his saints. Verse: Bless God in the congregations. The reading is from St. Paul's Second Letter to the Corinthians 4:6-15 rethren, it is the God who said, "Let light shine out of B darkness," who has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Christ. But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, to show that the transcendent power belongs to God and not to us. We are afflicted in every way, but not crushed; perplexed, but not driven to despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed; always carrying in the body the death of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be manifested in our bodies. For while we live we are always being given up to death for Jesus' sake, so that the life of Jesus may be manifested in our mortal flesh. So death is at work in us, but life in you. Since we have the same spirit of faith as he had who wrote, "I believed, and so I spoke," we too believe, and so we speak, knowing that he who raised the Lord Jesus will raise us also with Jesus and bring us with you into his presence. 5 to approve the 2019 budget and the Elections Committee s nominations slate for Parish Council Mobile Loaves and Fishes (MLF) Volunteer Opportunity On the first Saturday of every month, Transfiguration forms a team of parishioners to prepare lunches at the MLF site, as well as drive out to homeless shelters in Austin to distribute these lunches. We are always looking for volunteers. If you are interested in helping with this ministry, please contact John Esper at john.esper@gmail.com to be on the MLF distribution list. For those on the MLF distribution list, an is sent out about 3-4 days prior to the event asking for volunteers. Typically 4-5 volunteers are needed to prepare the lunches, and 3-4 volunteers are needed to deliver the lunches. If you have any questions, please contact John Esper, and he will be glad to help. Befriending My Soul The third workshop led by Prsb. Vasiliki on Thursday, December 13, 6pm - 8pm in our conference room. Vasiliki at After the tragic fall in the Garden of Eden passions of the soul can be contrary to our nature as άνθρωπος, male and female, in the image of God. Maximos calls these passions gentiles of the soul.

6 Bringing Your Brokenness Open to individuals and couples, meetings will be held bi-monthly on Thursday evenings at 6:30pm. We are studying book Defeating Sin by Fr. Joseph Huneycutt which is available in our bookstore. Our goal is to provide a loving Orthodox Christian atmosphere for support, accountability, study, and discussion, with the ultimate goal of restoring our souls and bodies to the image and likeness of God.
