Festival Hellenika is a dynamic event which has a twenty one year history in Adelaide dedicated to the development, promotion and celebration of Hellenic links in the Arts, and their exciting Australian manifestations. Formerly known as the Greek Cultural Month, it was established in 1991 with the assistance of the General Secretariat for Greeks Abroad. The Festival program is facilitated and coordinated by the SA Council for the Greek Cultural Month Inc. (SACGCM) which is comprised of members of local community organizations and administered by an elected executive council of their representatives. Membership and involvement is open to any organization or individual interested in exploring and celebrating Hellenic concepts or themes though the Arts. Furthermore through Festival Hellenika we aim to encourage a new appreciation of the spirit of Hellenism as we all provide opportunities for local artists interested in Hellenic connections to express themselves in a welcoming, open platform of arts and cultural activities. We hope that you too will be inspired to participate and celebrate Festival Hellenika with us! 1
