The discovery of bioeffects induced by ion beam implantation has provided new opportunities for mutational breeding,gene transferring, cell modification,and cell fusion. In recent years,the ion beam implantation technique has been widely applied in many fields and has been drawn morn concern. In this paper,we summarize recent advances in research on the role of low2 energy ion beam in mechanisms and applications. Ion beam implantation,as a key technology in biological science,will be more and more important with the development of microbeams.
