WP1. Project Management A significant amount of time has been devoted to this work package, especially since the beginning of the project, coordination among partners and for specific items that set the stage for a successful project is being completed. The six month progress report (Deliverable D1) and the interim report (Deliverable D2) has been submitted on time, including the completed deliverables from all work packages. One of the deliverables for the project, which is part of this work package, is this very report (Deliverable 3). Another deliverable under this work package is the agenda and the minutes of the third Coordination Meeting of the Steering Committee for the project (Deliverable 7), which are attached to this report (Appendix A). This meeting took place at Frederick University, on April 29, 2013. WP2. Dissemination of Results A web-site for the project has been set-up (Deliverable 16) and can be accessed at the following URL: http://recycled-water-perceptions.i4-services.com/. This web-site is being regularly updated with the most recent results of our effort. Further, a full paper to be presented to the CEST2013 Conference, which is to take place in Athens, Greece in September 2013 has been submitted (the paper is attached to this report in Appendix B) and has been accepted for oral presentation (Deliverable 13). The presentation is scheduled to be delivered by a representative of PA1 (i.e. the Water Development Department). Further, an abstract has been submitted (attached in Appendix C) and has been accepted for oral presentation (Deliverable 11) to the the 8th Conference on Sustainable Development of Energy, Water and Environment Systems SDEWES Conference, which will be held on September 22-27, 2013 in Dubrovnik, Croatia. WP3. Literature Review / Review of the Current Situation Cyprus This Work Package and the corresponding deliverables have been completed and were submitted in previous reports. WP4. Questionnaire Development This Work Package and the corresponding deliverables have been completed and were submitted in previous reports.
WP5. Collection of Data (Survey) This Work Package has been successfully completed. In Deliverable 22, which was submitted in a previous report, provided an in-depth explanation of our final sampling methodology. The appropriate number of completed questionnaires, from the three distinct groups studied farmers, water experts and professionals and the general public, were collected as planned. Hard copies of the original questionnaires completed by field workers are kept in storage on the premises of FRC and can be viewed by RPF personnel at any time. To satisfy the reporting requirements (Deliverable 23) we are submitting, in Appendix D screen captures of the soft format of questionnaires, alongside a photograph of the folders in which the hard copies of the original hard-copies are kept at FRC. Do note that soft-format data have been coded in a way that could be used in statistical-analysis software. For purposes of Deliverable 24, a brief summary report of the data collected with basic descriptive parameters is presented in Appendix E. WP6. Statistical Analysis of Data This Work Package is still in progress. An in-depth data analysis still needs to be concluded. The questionnaire structure includes a large range of questions and a number of hypotheses still need to be tested, as these pertain to specific questions and specific stakeholders groups of the survey. Additional analysis is still required to accomplish the target of this work package and, consequently, the overall objectives of our project. However, a significant amount of statistical analysis has been completed, as this is presented in a series of statistical tables and figures (Deliverable 25) presented in Appendix F of this report. This analysis provided the basis of our conference publications (as these were mentioned in the description of WP2, above). WP7. Identification and Reporting of Water Reuse Implementation Scheme Mechanisms & Development of Action Plan Early, yet important, steps have been taken towards the successful completion of this work package. The 2 nd Stakeholder Workshop (Deliverables 26 & 27) has been set to be held in early July (1-3) 2013. Research results will be presented to participants from various organizations and governmental departments etc. in order to kick off the discussion about water reuse implementation scheme mechanisms (as these are based on the perceptions of stakeholders). This discussion will form the basis of an action plan that is to be proposed (Deliverable 28). List of Deliverables Attached to this Report D7 - Agenda & minutes of the third Coordination Meeting of the Steering Committee (Appendix A) D11 Abstract for a paper to be presented (by FRC) to SDEWES Conference (Appendix C) D13 - Full paper to be presented (by WDD) to the CEST2013 Conference (Appendix B) D23 completed questionnaires used in the survey (Appendix D sample photographic record the originals are kept in storage on the FRC premises) D24 - Brief summary report of the data collected with basic descriptive parameters (Appendix E) D25 - Statistical tables and figures of the results of the data analysis (Appendix F)
3. ΠΡΟΒΛΗΜΑΤΑ ΠΟΥ ΠΑΡΟΥΣΙΑΣΤΗΚΑΝ / PROBLEMS ENCOUNTERED A difficulty that we have been facing stems from the fact that our analysis of data has yet to be completed and deadlines for conference papers are at least 9 months prior to the event, thus making it exceptionally difficult for us to write a meaningful paper that could be successfully submitted to such Conferences. This difficulty may necessitate a future request for a 3-month time-extension to the project, so that we can better serve the Dissemination actions envisioned for the project. 4.
