We should all be on the lookout for this issue and make ourselves informed. George Bambalis & Stan Carroll plan to attend the Laity meeting in Atlanta, November 10, to learn more. Nominating Committee is working on names for Parish Council elections in December. Budget Preparation is underway for the November 26 General Assembly Meeting. Pilgrimage to Jerusalem is in beginning planning phase for June 12, 2018. Father Demetri will lead this & more information will be available soon. The front side walls of the church will be kept clear from extra chairs, to allow clear pathways near wheelchairs & walkers which need these spaces. Research is underway on cleaning the velvet curtains in the Hellenic Center.

We are of to a great start. -In Christ, Heather Vlachos Hello Ladies, I hope and pray this newsletter finds you well as our Bake Sale and Holidays quickly approach. I d like to start off by thanking Mrs. Samaras for demonstrating how to make Prosforo at our October meeting. As suspected, the key ingredient is love. The complete recipe can be found on page 286 in the Favorite Greek Recipes cookbook. As we have been preparing for our 60 th Bake Sale, I am in awe at how dedicated our seasoned ladies have been over the last couple of months in helping us make sure we have another successfully Bake Sale. In past years, we have attempted to change the schedule for baking preparations in an attempt to make it easier for the younger members to be able to join us and help lessen the burden placed on the ladies who without fail, come week after week, and year after year. Unfortunately, the change in schedule didn t produce the results we prayed for. As our lives progress, many have careers and families that may prove to be more demanding and challenging that in prior years, and prevents us from fully committing to the labor it takes to make our annual bake sales successful. With that said, this may be a good time for all of us to start thinking outside the box to come up with other means of raising funds to help those in need. Please bring any ideas or thoughts you may have at our next General Meeting, or share them with our Board Members. Please remember to distribute the flyers and pre-order forms to your friends, co-workers, and neighbors. Copies can be downloaded at WSGOC.org or you can pick up copies in our churches Breezeway. Εύχομαι καί προσεύχομαι αυτό το γράμμα νά σάς βρεί καλά, τό Φθινοπωρινό Φέστιβάλ καί οί γιορτές πόυ έρχονται. Θέλω νά αρχίσω μέ ένα ευχαριστώ γιά τήν κ. Σαμαρά, πού μάς έδειξε στή συνεδρίαση τού Οκτωβρίου πώς φτιάχνομαι τό πρόσφορο. Τό σπουδαίο υλικό είναι ή αγάπη. Τήν συνταγή πώς φτιάχνομε το πρόσφορο θά τήν βρούμε στήν 286 σελίδα στό βιβλίο μαγειρικής τής Φιλοπτώχου τής Εκκλησίας μάς. Επίσης ετοιμαζόμαστε γιά τήν εξηκοστή επαίτιο του Φθινοπωρινού Φέστιβάλ τής Φιλοπτώχου. Είμαι πολύ υπερήφανη γιά τίς κυρίες πού ήρθαν γιά δύο μήνες γιά νά ετοιμάσουμε τά γλυκά γιά νά έχομε καί άλλο επιτυχημένο Φθινοπωρινό Φέστιβάλ. Πέρισυ αλλάξαμε τίς ώρες τής προετοιμασίας γιά νά τό κάνομε πιό βολικό γιά τίς νεαρές κυρίες νά έρχουνται νά βοηθάνε καί αυτές. Γιατί έρχονται οί ίδιες καί οί ίδιες όλα τά χρόνια. Δυστυχώς τά αποτελέσματα είναι τά ίδια, δέν αλλάξαν όπως επιθυμούσαμε. Η ζωή μάς είναι γεμάτη απαιτήσεις μέ δουλιές έξω από τό σπίτι καί οικογενοικές. Τά παλιά τά χρόνια ήταν πιό εύκολα καί οί γυναίκες βοηθούσανε περισσότερο. Μέ αύτές τίς δυσκολίες πού έχομε τώρα, άς σκέφτούμε κάποιον άλλο τρόπο νά βγάλουμε λεφτά νά βοηθήσουμε αυτούς πού έχουν ανάγκη. Σάς παρακαλώ εάν έχετε καμμία ιδέα, στήν άλλη γενική συνέλευση, νά μάς τό πείτε. Σάς παρακαλώ νά θυμηθείτε ότι οί παραγγελίες καί οί διαφημήσεις είναι όλες έτοιμες γιά νά τίς δώσομε στούς φίλους καί στούς γειτόνους. Annunciation Christian Academy What a Fun Fall we had at ACA! We enjoyed cutting pumpkins and finding seeds, planting corn seeds, graphing with apples, stomping on grapes and baking corn bread and pumpkin muffins. We want to thank Dennis Paloumbas, John Kontos and John Kazakos for donating a delicious meal for our Family Fun Night! Thank you Stavro Karagiorgis for putting together again the most fun hay ride for the children! Also thank you to the Ebert family for donating the beautiful fall sign for ACA. We are thankful for our amazing board members for organizing the wonderful events for our preschool! Have a wonderful Thanksgiving with family and friends! Evie Vagios Sunday School News from the Annunciation Sermonette Theme: Words of Life and Faith Our charity food drive continues this month. We ask that you please send in nonperishable food items and leave them by the Sunday school corner. Please help us fill the boxes. Thank you to those ladies who have been servicing as our Maidens for Christ, they continue to do a wonderful job each Sunday. On November 19th, there will be a Teaching Liturgy for all Sunday School students. This will take place in the Fellowship Hall. Please come directly to the Hall for the Liturgy by 10am. Also, the teachers that are scheduled for that week are asked to join us. The boys that are scheduled to be in the Altar are to remain in Altar for regular church service. Classes for the 3 and 4 year olds will meet as usual. The nursery will be open and staffed as well. We want to remind everyone that we WILL be having Sunday school on November 26th. It is NOT just for Bible Bowl participants! We encourage all of our GOYA to take become active in learning about their faith. Come join in the discussion. Bible Study meets on the second and fourth Wednesdays of the month from 7:00p-8:15p Please bring your Orthodox Study Bible. LET US ATTEND WINTER YOUTH RALLY 2017 Registration for the 2017 Winter Youth Rally is currently open. The last day to register without penalty is November 9th. The cost per GOYAN is $265.00 and all registration is done online. To register go to the Metropolis of Atlanta website at atlmetropolis.org and then click on the Winter Youth Rally tab on the main page and follow the instructions on the link. Please remember that to be eligible to attend the WYR you must be a GOYAN in the 7th to 12th grade, attend GOYA meetings, participate in GOYA service projects, and be current in your Sunday School attendance.
