Το Παναθηναϊκός- Πανσερραϊκός έφτασε στο 12.2% με 30.6% και το Αστέρας Τ.- Πανιώνιος στο 4.9% με 19.6%. Ο Alpha ήταν πρώτο κανάλι όλη τη μέρα, καθώς συγκέντρωσε μέσο μερίδιο 22.9%. PREMIERE TO OFFER BUNDESLIGA ON THE INTERNET German pay-tv operator Premiere announced it is making its German Bundesliga coverage to non-subscribers on a pay-per-view basis on the internet. From the 2009-10 season Premiere will broadcast live games over the internet, announced CEO Mark Williams. Matches will be available to non-subscribers for a set fee per match. Premiere acquired the Bundesliga rights for the four seasons until 2012-13 in November 2008. Under the deal, the broadcaster was also awarded the right to screen all matches live on the internet. Williams also announced that Premiere subscribers will receive a discount on matches, but did not disclose any pricing details. Premiere currently transmits games from the Champions League, UEFA Cup and Premier League live on a similar scheme, matches costing between 5 and 10 per match. 05

NIKE AD LAUNCHES FIVE-A-SIDE TOURNAMENT PREMIER LEAGUE CLUBS CUT TICKET PRICES Five Premier League clubs have reacted to the economic downturn by cutting their season-ticket prices for the 2009/10 season to maintain attendance levels at games. Everton, Sunderland, Manchester City, Newcastle and Portsmouth have introduced a variety of reductions to help fans through the recession. Five others, Aston Villa, Tottenham, Chelsea, Hull City and Arsenal have announced a price freeze. The remaining 10 top-flight clubs are yet to reveal their pricing structures for next season but are expected to follow the trend already put in place. The cuts are not the first in the Premier League as Bolton dropped their prices last season, but the general trend has been upwards. Everton s cheapest season ticket will be 399 for adults and 149 for under-16s, while Sunderland have promised to cut at least 30 off all seats while under-16s with an adult will pay just 19 for the season. Nike is running a major new TV ad campaign around this week s Champions League games featuring a host of professional stars taking on inner city players in a five-a-side match as the brand looks to launch a new nationwide football tournament. Nike aims to enlist 16,000 players from across seven regions of the UK to take part in more than 200 five-a-side tournaments over eight weeks. Local winning teams progress to city finals ahead of an ultimate national final on 10th May. The Show Your 5 ad campaign, which will break during Manchester United s midweek game against Inter Milan, features the likes of Wayne Rooney, Rio Ferdinand and Joe Cole. 06

Swiss watchmaker Omega said Phelps actions were a private matter and non-issue while Speedo called Phelps a valued member of the Speedo team. SKY LAUNCHES PRO CYCLING TEAM UK pay-television broadcaster BSkyB is to create a professional British road cycling team managed by the British Olympics cycling team s performance director Dave Brailsford CBE. Team Sky will launch in 2010 and is aiming to create the first British winner of the Tour de France within five years. It plans to have a core of British riders, coaches and support staff, and its headquarters will be in Manchester, current home of the GB cycling team. It will recruit an initial squad of around 25 riders during 2009. The team is beginning the search now for other key personnel and commercial partners to support the new team. In its first year, its race schedule will include the Tour of Britain. ADVERTISING TIC TAC ADVERTISE- MENT RECREATES ITV S MISSED GOAL Tic Tac has created a 20-second viral advertisement re-creating the goal in last Saturday s Everton-Liverpool football match missed by UK television viewers. The goal was cut out of ITV s broadcast of the match due to a technical error. The viral advertisements, which were launched last night, sees two teams of men dressed as orange and lime-flavoured Tic Tac sweets re-enact the goal on a freezing cold day on the Hackney Marshes football pitches in London. SPORTS BUSINESS ECCLESTONE: BRANSON WOULD LOVE TO DO HONDA DEA F1 supremo Bernie Ecclestone has given the clearest indication yet that the Virgin Group is on the verge of taking over the Honda F1 Racing Team after confirming that Richard Branson had informed him that he would love to do the deal. Honda, who decided to withdraw their investment in the sport last December, have confirmed Branson s Virgin Group is one of several potential buyers of the F1 outfit. Ecclestone has now added impetus to the deal stating: I ve spoken to Richard s people about it. He would love to do it. I d like it very much. It would be super. We re working to try to make it happen. The Honda F1 team hope a deal can be done in time for the start of the 2009 season in Australia on 29th March, allowing them to retain their place on the grid. It is thought the team is up for sale for 1 although any buyer would need to find a budget in the region of 40m to run the outfit for the new campaign. PORTSMOUTH COULD FALL UNDER GREEK OWNERSHIP Stavros Papageorgiou, a Greek businessman, is reported to be in advanced talks regarding the purchase of English Portsmouth Football club. The Greek press claims Papageorgiou is in charge of agroup of investors currently negotiating a buyout with Portsmouth owner Alexandre Gaydamak. Papageorgiou is the major shareholder of Sanyo Hellas Holding S.A., and the founder of the company based in Athens. The holding company consists of twenty-seven subdivisions and affiliates covering a vast range of industries. These industries include telecommunications, supermarkets, insurances, consumer electronics, hospitality, health care, and a number of others. ILLEGAL STREAMING HITS PREMIER LEAGUE BULGARIA TO HOST MOTOGP IN 2012 The Bulgarian Motorcycling Federation (BMF) has agreed a five-year deal to bring MotoGP to the country from the 2012 season. The deal was struck with MotoGP commercial rights-holder Dorna Sports. Reuters reports that BMF head Bodgan Nikolov announced the deal, saying, We signed the agreement with [Dorna chief executive] Carmelo Ezpeleta and we re very pleased because no country from our region has hosted a motorcycle grand prix. It s still not clear which track will host the races as we re still thinking over two options. The Premier League has voiced a growing concern about illegal streaming of live football through the internet in the wake of its new 1.782bn three-year TV rights deal. The Premier League has just concluded negotiations with broadcasters Sky and Setanta for a new three-year rights deal to screen live matches in the UK. However there is a worry that viewers are increasingly watching illegally-stream matches on the internet for free rather than paying the subscription costs of signing up to the two broadcasters. Premier League lawyer Oliver Weingarten has stated that the most popular illegal sites attract up to a quarter of a million viewers for a single game. 16
