For the Teacher: Super Friends 1 is recommended for young learners of English around the age of nine ( Õ èíïôéëïà). Students should finish the Alphabet Lessons section of the Coursebook before starting with the Activity Book. Once the Alphabet Lessons in the Coursebook are taught, students can complete the two-page Alphabet Revision Lesson in their Activity Books. From this point on lessons between the Coursebook and the Activity Book correspond and should be taught together. Vocabulary items in the Activity Book are pre-taught; they are presented in the relevant Vocabulary boxes and are assigned as homework for the following lesson. The new vocabulary items are marked in bold, whereas the ones in regular type are words/phrases which have been presented before. Students are given free Audio CDs which include pronunciation of the vocabulary items for each lesson. Try to make sure your students listen to the pronunciation of their vocabulary at least three times at home; it will help them learn it more quickly and achieve the correct pronunciation. In each lesson you will find a vocabulary exercise entitled Ò ùíüóïù ëáé çòàãå ôé ðáòáëàôö ìûêåé óôá ççìéëà.ó This exercise can serve as a revision exercise in class or be assigned as homework. It can also serve as a dictation exercise (ïòõïçòáæýá) which students can prepare for at home and write at the beginning of their following lesson. There is a Review lesson every six lessons and a Revision lesson every ten lessons. Upon the completion of the Review lessons students are required to take a 10- minute Quiz, whereas they take a one-hour Test after the completion of ten lessons. Each Review and Revision lesson includes reading texts, a word list, a Grammar Theory box and revision exercises. After the first Revision students are expected to fill in missing details as they read their Grammar Theory box. In the end of each Review or Revision lesson there is a box informing students what they should study in order to prepare for their Quiz or Test.
