Our Church Family worships the Holy Trinity (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit) and every Sunday, the Lord s Day, we commemorate the Resurrection of Jesus Christ. Our mission is to live the Holy Gospel in accordance with the Orthodox Faith; towards sanctification through God s grace in worship, the Divine Liturgy and the Sacraments: glorifying God through all joys and struggles; and as a Church Community, in Christian love, we seek to do His will so that through His mercy, we may attain His Kingdom. We are blessed to have the slippers of St. Spyridon, which are located in the front-left of the Church, please be sure to venerate them. Verse: For you are just in all you have done. St. Paul's Letter to the Hebrews 11:24-26, Brethren, by faith Moses, when he was grown up, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh's daughter, choosing rather to share illtreatment with the people of God than to enjoy the fleeting pleasures of sin. And what more shall I say? For time would fail me to tell of Gideon, Barak, Samson, Jephthah, of David and Samuel and the prophets -- who through faith conquered kingdoms, enforced justice, received promises, stopped the mouths of lions, quenched raging fire, escaped the edge of the sword, won strength out of weakness, became mighty in war, put foreign enemies to flight. Women received their dead by resurrection. Some were tortured, refusing to accept release, that they might rise again to a better life. Others suffered mocking and scourging, and even chains and imprisonment. They were stoned, they were sawn in two, they were killed with the sword; they went about in skins of sheep and goats, destitute, afflicted, ill-treated -- of whom the world was not worthy -- wandering over deserts and mountains, and in dens and caves of the earth. And all these, though well attested by their faith, did not receive what was promised, since God had foreseen something better for us, that apart from us they should not be made perfect.

THE HOLY GOSPEL The Gospel According to John 1:43-51 At that time, Jesus decided to go to Galilee. And he found Philip and said to him, "Follow me." Now Philip was from Bethsaida, the city of Andrew and Peter. Philip found Nathanael, and he said to him, "We have found him of whom Moses in the law and also the prophets wrote, Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph." Nathanael said to him, "Can anything good come out of Nazareth?" Philip said to him, "Come and see." Jesus saw Nathanael coming to him, and said of him, "Behold, an Israelite indeed, in whom is no guile!" Nathanael said to him, "How do you know me?" Jesus answered him, "Before Philip called you, when you were under the fig tree, I saw you." Nathanael answered him, "Rabbi, you are the Son of God! You are the King of Israel!" Jesus answered him, "Because I said to you, I saw you under the fig tree, do you believe? You shall see greater things than these." And he said to him, "Truly, truly, I say to you, you will see heaven opened, and the angels of God ascending and descending upon the Son of man." FASTING / ΝΗΣΤΕΙΑ During the Lenten Fast, the Church calls us to abstain from all meat and dairy products until Pascha, with wine & oil allowed during the weekends only. As always, fast as earnestly as you are able, and if you have never fasted, try something small. Remember, a true fast is when we keep our mind on the Lord and reject sinful passions. Καλή δύναμη!

Maximos has written books on the theology of icons, he is a senior research fellow at Holy Cross Seminary, and he lived for many years as a monk on Mount Athos. Please join us on Thursday, March 7pm and stay for a light reception. Father Arseny - Priest, Prisoner, Spiritual Father If you ever have doubts about your faith, as we all do at some time or other, this book will provide a glimpse into the life of a new saint as recalled by his spiritual children, and will uplift your faith. Father Arseny was a an Orthodox priest and prisoner in the gulags of the Soviet Union, was severely tortured, yet through his faith in Christ was able to change the lives of those around him. His story can influence your life, as well. Available at our bookstore! CHILD ADVOCACY CONVERSATION Presvytera Maria Apostola will be offering a talk about her role as a Child Advocate in Massachusetts and her work with children in need, the impact of the opioid epidemic, and things to be aware of as parents. Join her at Sts. Anargyroi in Marlboro on Sunday February 25th from 3pm-5pm. LITTLE ANGELS Our Little Angels group will meet on Tuesday, February 27th from 1:30-3:00pm in the Founders Court. See you there! GOYA Our GOYA will be visiting Holy Trinity Nursing home on Tuesday, February 27th. We will not meet at the Church, but will gather at Holy Trinity and play BINGO! with the residents!

7 Catechism / Inquirer s Introductory Class We invite anyone who is not Orthodox (including spouses) who is interested in the Orthodox faith, either learning more about it or converting, to attend this class. We will discuss the course material and plan a schedule that fits all participant s availabilities. Synodikon of the Seventh Ecumenical Council As the prophets beheld, as the Apostles have taught, as the Church has received, as the teachers have declared, as the world has agreed, as grace has shown forth, as truth has been revealed, as falsehood has been dispelled, as wisdom has become manifest, as Christ awarded; Thus we declare; thus we affirm; thus we proclaim Christ our true God, and honor His saints in words, writings, thoughts, sacrifices, churches, and holy icons; On the one hand, worshiping and reverencing Christ as God and Lord, and on the other, honoring the saints as true servants of the same Lord of all, and offering them proper veneration. This is the faith of the apostles. This is the faith of the fathers. This is the faith of the Orthodox. This is the faith on which the world is established.

13 ΔΕΛΤΙΟ ΤΥΠΟΥ Σας γνωστοποιούμε ότι η Ελληνορθόδοξος Κοινότης του Αγίου Νεκταρίου Roslindale, Mass το έτος 2007 ορίστηκε ως εξεταστικό κέντρο, από το Κέντρο Ελληνικής Γλώσσας του Υπουργείου Παιδείας, για την διεξαγωγή εξετάσεων πιστοποίησης επάρκειας της Ελληνομάθειας. Οι εξετάσεις θα πραγματοποιηθούν την Τρίτη 15 Μαίου 2018 (Α1, Α2 και Β1 επίπεδα) και την Τετάρτη 16 Μαίου 2018 (Β2, Γ1 και Γ2 επίπεδα). Η προθεσμία υποβολής των αιτήσεων λήγει στίς 18 Μαίου Τα επίπεδα εξετάσεων είναι τα εξής: Α1 (νέο επίπεδο) στοιχειώδης γνώση για παιδιά 8-12 ετών Α2 (πρώην Α επίπεδο) στοιχειώδης γνώση για εφήβους και ενηλήκους άνω των 12 ετών Β1 (πρώην Β επίπεδο) μέτρια γνώση για εφήβους και ενηλήκους άνω των 12 ετών Γ1 και Γ2 (πρώην Δ επίπεδο) πολύ καλή και άριστη γνώση για ενηλήκους. Δικαίωμα συμμετοχής έχουν ομογενείς και αλλογενείς, οι οποίοι έχουν συμπληρώσει το 8 ον έτος της ηληκίας τους την 31 η Μαίου 2017 για (Α1-παιδιά) και 12 για όλα τα άλλα επίπεδα... 14 Saturday, March 10th, 2018 The Feeding Ministry is continuing to serve our community with a Luncheon to be served to the Poor and Needy on Saturday, March 10, 2018 at 11:30am in the St. Spyridon Cotsidas Cultural Center. This month s meal is donated by and served by members of the Philoptochos and parish volunteers. The Feeding Ministry will typically be scheduled the 2nd Saturday of each month in conjunction with the Council of Eastern Orthodox Churches of Central Massachusetts and the Food Pantry, and is subject to change if scheduling difficulties should arise.
