He has been involved in valuations, mergers and acquisitions, financial modeling and restructuring projects for many public and private companies from different sectors. Through this wide hands-on experience, he has gained unique in-depth knowledge of the business dynamics in practical situations. He has completed numerous assignments, in many industry sectors including financial services, retail, real estate, manufacturing and tourism. Christophoros has a BSc in Economics (Accounting and Finance) from the London School of Economics, is a Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (FCA), and holds the Corporate Finance qualification (CFq) from the same Institute. He has presented a number of seminars on valuation, M & A and Financing Anastassiades Anastasia, FIA Senior Investment Consultant & Actuary, International Retirement & Investment Practice, Aon Hewitt Anastasia graduated from the London School of Economics and Political Science with a BSc (Hons) in Actuarial Science. She is a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries in the UK and has 17 years of total consulting experience. Anastasia joined Aon Hewitt in She is the lead Investment Consultant for a number of pension funds and Insurance companies which she advises on strategic investment and implementation matters as well as provides general investment related support. She joined Aon Hewitt after being employed for three years in the pensions structuring team at BNP Paribas in London, where she assisted trustees of pension funds to develop derivative based risk-mitigating investment strategies for their schemes. She mainly focused on UK, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands and Sweden. Prior to that, she was a senior investment consultant at PSolve Consultants, advising pension schemes of several companies on all aspects of their investment arrangements, including setting innovative risk management strategies and selecting specialist fund managers. These strategies utilise interest rate swaps and equity derivatives to efficiently assist schemes to protect funding levels. She was also responsible for the research into alternative asset classes and maintaining the companies buy list for such managers. She was previously employed with the Financial Services Authority in London in the Risk Assessment Division where she led projects analysing systemic risks in insurance and financial firms. In addition, Anastasia worked for the Government Actuary s Department in the UK where she was involved in social security work for governments around the world (including Cyprus and the Middle East) as well as pensions-related work for local UK authorities. 14

16 Trainers' CV Hadjivarnava Artemis Assistant Manager, KPMG Cyprus Artemis Hadjivarnava is an Assistant Manager in the Financial Risk Management department of KPMG Ltd Cyprus. She holds a BA and an MSc and has previously worked as a financial dealer in the Dealing Room of a Cypriot investment firm. Artemis has experience in the implementation of various assurance and advisory engagements with relation to external risk management, Basel II calculations, operational risk frameworks and overall regulatory compliance. She has participated in Basel II projects with several banks and investment firms in Cyprus, assisting them in the quantification of risks and the calculation of minimum capital requirements. She has also performed audits of Pillar 1 calculations and Pillar 3 Disclosures and delivered educational seminars on capital adequacy regulatory provisions and capital efficiency to banks and investment firms. Furthermore, Artemis has had an active role in the transposition of the European Council s CRD 2 and CRD 3 provisions into CySEC legislation.
