Tompoulidou tompanayiota@gmail.com George Kodas Memorial Scholarship Apostles Peter and Paul Annual Community Barbeque Sunday June 29 th The Community is hosting a barbecue to celebrate our patron saints, the Apostles Peter and Paul on Sunday, June 29th at the South Leisure Centre (170 Sunset Drive). Festivities are set to begin after 11:30 A.M. immediately following the Sunday Liturgy. There will be plenty of food, drink, music and activities for the children. Children are welcome to bring their swimsuits to play in the splash park. The gym is rented, so no matter what the weather has in store for this day, there is plenty of room for everyone. The George Kodas Memorial Scholarship was awarded to PANAYIOTIS TSAGOURIS for being the top student of the graduating class of 2014 with an average of 100%. Panayiotis has his named engraved on the main plaque, a keeper plaque for himself, as well as a cheque for $300. The Kodas family is very proud of you, Panayioti! Congratulations! Ladies of Philoptochos Society Our next meeting will be on Monday June 16 th 2014, 7:30 p.m. This will be the last meeting before the summer break. Our Potluck Dinner will follow immediately after the meeting. Please make sure you bring lenten food (nistisima). Hope to see you all there! An Evening in Greece Committee Needs Your Help We are looking for energetic and motivated members of Regina s Greek Community to join the Evening in Greece Organizing Committee. Preparations for 2015 are already getting underway and we need your help. This is a great opportunity to take part in one of Regina s premiere fundraising events. An Evening in Greece has raised more than $1,800,000 over the past 20 years to benefit worthwhile charitable organizations such as Regina Palliative Care Inc., Hospitals Foundation of Regina and many more. 3 MOSAIC 2014 Mosaic 2014 is almost upon us and we need your help! If you can give an hour or two of your time, we would appreciate it immensely! We have a great community full of wonderful people who help out each year. Please contact the committee heads below in the area(s) in which you would like to help out on June 5 th, 6 th, and 7 th. Please note that the Food Line and Coffee and Dessert Line desperately need volunteers and we ALWAYS need people to clean tables! Thank you again! PAUL S LEADERSHIP SCHOLARSHIP The St. Paul s Greek Orthodox Community Leadership Scholarship was created to recognize and award members of the Greek community in Regina who are currently enrolled in or intend to pursue post-secondary education at a recognized institution in Canada or the United States. Two scholarships will be awarded, one for $1,000 CAD and one for $500 CAD. The award will be applied to tuition Scholarship candidates must complete and submit the application no later than July 15 th, The package that contains the criteria, detailed procedure information and the application form are available at the Church (on the bulletin board) or from Andrea Gourgaris. Thank You On behalf of the Community Council, a big thank you to Vern and Bev Kinvig from River Heights Drycleaners for all their years of support by donating all the Church s dry cleaning needs. THANK YOU GOYA REGINA A sincere THANK YOU to our Youth Group, GOYA Regina for donating $2,000 towards the construction of a handicap washroom and renovations in our Church Hall.
