APOLYTIKION Apolytikion Let us worship the Word who is unoriginate with the Father and the Spirit, and from a Virgin was born for our salvation, O believers, and let us sing His praise. For in His goodness He was pleased to ascend the Cross in the flesh, and to undergo death, and to raise up those who had died, by His glorious Resurrection Kontakion Upon the mountain were You transfigured, and Your disciples beheld Your glory as far as they were able, O Christ our God; so that when they would see You crucified they might understand that Your Passion was deliberate, and declare to the world that in truth You are the Father's radiance. ἈΠΟΛΥΤΊΚΙΟΝ Ἀπολυτίκιον Τὸν συνάναρχον Λόγον Πατρὶ καὶ Πνεύματι, τὸν ἐκ Παρθένου τεχθέντα εἰς σωτηρίαν ἡμῶν, ἀνυμνήσωμεν πιστοὶ καὶ προσκυνήσωμεν, ὅτι ηὐδόκησε σαρκί, ἀνελθεῖν ἐν τῷ Σταυρῷ, καὶ θάνατον ὑπομεῖναι, καὶ ἐγεῖραι τοὺς τεθνεῶτας, ἐν τῇ ἐνδόξῳ Ἀναστάσει αὐτοῦ. Brethren, having gifts that differ according to the grace given to us, let us use them: if prophecy, in proportion to our faith; if service, in our serving; he who teaches, in his teaching; he who exhorts, in his exhortation; he who contributes, in liberality; he who gives aid, with zeal; he who does acts of mercy, with cheerfulness. Let love be genuine; hate what is evil, hold fast to what is good; love one another with brotherly affection; outdo one another in showing honor. Never flag in zeal, be aglow with the Spirit, serve the Lord. Rejoice in your hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer. Contribute to the needs of the saints, practice hospitality. Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse them. χάριν ποὺ μᾶς ἐδόθηκε, ἂς τὰ χ ρ η σ ι μ ο π ο ι ή σ ω μ ε ν, ἐὰν προφητείαν, ἀνάλογα μὲ τὴν πίστιν μας, 7ἐὰν ὑπηρεσίαν, εἰς τὸ ἔργον τῆς ὑπηρεσίας, ὁ διδάσκαλος, εἰς τὴν διδασκαλίαν, 8ἐκεῖνος ποὺ παρηγορεῖ, εἰς τὴν παρηγορίαν, ἐκεῖνος ποὺ δίνει κάτι, ἂς τὸ κάνῃ μὲ γενναιοδωρίαν, ἐκεῖνος ποὺ εἶναι προϊστάμενος, ἂς ἐργάζεται μὲ ζῆλον, ἐκεῖνος ποὺ ἐλεεῖ, ἂς ἐλεῇ μὲ χαράν. 9Ἡ ἀγάπη νὰ εἶναι εἰλικρινής. Μισεῖτε τὸ κακὸν καὶ προσκολλᾶσθε εἰς τὸ καλόν. 10Ὡς πρὸς τὴν ἀδελφικὴν ἀγάπην, νὰ εἶσθε γεμᾶτοι στοργὴν ὁ ἕνας πρὸς τὸν ἄλλον ὡς πρὸς τὴν ἀμοιβαίαν ἐκτίμησιν, ὁ ἕνας νὰ ξεπερνᾷ τὸν ἄλλον 11νὰ μὴ εἶσθε ὀκνηροὶ ὡς πρὸς τὸν ζῆλον, νὰ εἶσθε κατὰ τὸ πνεῦμα θερμοί, νὰ ὑπηρετῆτε τὸν Κύριον, 12νὰ χαίρετε διὰ τὴν ἐλπίδα σας, νὰ ἔχετε ὑπομονὴν εἰς τὴν θλῖψιν, νὰ ἐπιμένετε εἰς τὴν προσευχήν, 13νὰ συμμετέχετε εἰς τὰς ἀνάγκας τῶν χριστιανῶν, τὴν φ ι λ ο ξ ε ν ί α ν ν ὰ ἐ πιδιώκετε. 14Εὐλογεῖτε ἐκείνους ποὺ σᾶς διώκουν, εὐλογεῖτε καὶ μὴ καταρᾶσθε. 3

4 GOSPEL - MATTHEW 9:1-8 ΚΑΤᾺ ΜΑΤΘΑῦΟΝ 9:1-8 At that time, getting into a boat Jesus crossed over and came to his own city. And behold, they brought to him a paralytic, lying on his bed; and when Jesus saw their faith he said to the paralytic, "Take heart, my son; your sins are forgiven." And behold, some of the scribes said to themselves, "This man is blaspheming." But Jesus, knowing their thoughts, said, "Why do you think evil in your hearts? For which is easier, to say 'Your sins are forgiven,' or to say 'Rise and walk?' But that you may know that the Son of man has authority on earth to forgive sins" he then said to the paralytic -- "Rise, take up your bed and go home." And he rose and went home. When the crowds saw it, they were afraid, and they glorified God, who had given such authority to men. 1Καὶ ἐμπῆκε εἰς πλοιάριον, ἐπέρασε ἀπέναντι καὶ ἦλθεν εἰς τὴν δικήν του πόλιν. 2Καὶ τοῦ ἔφεραν ἕνα παράλυτον, ξαπλωμένον σ ἕνα κρεββάτι. Ὁ Ἰησοῦς, ὅταν εἶδε τὴν πίστιν τους, εἶπε εἰς τὸν παράλυτον, «Ἔχε θάρρος, παιδί μου. Σοῦ συγχωροῦνται αἱ ἁμαρτίαι σου». 3Καὶ μερικοὶ ἀπὸ τοὺς γραμματεῖς εἶπαν μέσα τους, «Αὐτὸς βλασφημεῖ». 4Ὁ δὲ Ἰησοῦς, ἐπειδὴ κατάλαβε τὰς σκέψεις των, εἶπε, «Γιατί σκέπτεσθε πονηρὰ μέσα στὴν καρδιά σας; 5Τί εἶναι εὐκολώτερον, νὰ πῶ «Σοῦ συγχωροῦνται αἱ ἁμαρτίαι σου» ἢ νὰ πῶ, «Σήκω ἐπάνω καὶ περπάτει»; 6Ἀλλὰ διὰ νὰ μάθετε ὅτι ὁ Υἱὸς τοῦ ἀνθρώπου ἔχει ἐξουσίαν νὰ συγχωρῇ ἁμαρτίας ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς», τότε λέγει εἰς τὸν παράλυτον, «Σήκω ἐπάνω, πάρε τὸ κρεββάτι σου καὶ πήγαινε εἰς τὸ σπίτι σου». 7Αὐτὸς ἐσηκώθηκε καὶ ἐπῆγε εἰς τὸ σπίτι του. 8Ὅταν εἶδεν αὐτὸ ὁ κόσμος, ἐθαύμασε καὶ ἐδόξασε τὸν Θεόν, ποὺ ἔδωσε τέτοιαν ἐξουσίαν εἰς τοὺς ἀνθρώπους. 4

5 GOSPEL - MATEU 9:1-8 Si hipi në varkë, Jezui kaloi në bregun tjetër dhe erdhi në qytetin e vet. Atëherë i sollën një të paralizuar, të shtrirë në një vig. Kur pa besimin e tyre, Jezui i tha të paralizuarit: «Merr zemër, biri im, të janë falur mëkatet». Disa nga skribët thanë me vete: «Ky po fyen Perëndinë». Meqenëse Jezui i njihte mendimet e tyre, u tha: «Pse keni këto mendime të këqija në zemrat tuaja? Çfarë është më e lehtë, të thuash të janë falur mëkatet, apo të thuash ngrihu dhe ec? Mirëpo, që ta dini se Biri i njeriut ka pushtetin të falë mëkatet mbi tokë» - i tha të paralizuarit - «ngrihu, merre vigun e shko në shtëpi!». Ai u ngrit e shkoi në shtëpi. Kur panë këtë gjë, turmat i zuri frika dhe përlëvduan Perëndinë, që u kishte dhënë njerëzve një pushtet kaq të madh. We currently have 37 people who signed up as being interested, with a max of 45 going on the trip. Final pricing will be available soon. For those visiting an Orthodox Church for the first time, please be aware that Holy Communion is a sign of unity of Faith which is offered to Baptized and/or Chrismated Orthodox Christians. All present are welcome, however, to partake of the Antidoro (blessed bread) which is distributed at the end of the service. All people, of any background, are welcome to join the Orthodox Church!
