Theresultsshowedthatthehighstoragetemperaturewasinfavorofthegrowth,whichwasindicatedby theplantheightandleaflength.theplantheightandsolublesugarcontentunderlowtemperature(17~20 )duringthegrowingstagewerehigherthanthatunderthehigherenvironmentaltemperature (22~25 ),whichsuggestedthatlowtemperatureduringthegrowingstagewasappropriateforthegrowth.the treatmentwithlow temperature,ga 3 orethylenejustbeforeplantingalpromotedthegrowth.and ethylenetreatmentalsoincreasedthenumberoftilers.ethylenetreatmentwasappliedduringtheearlyor themiddlephaseofbulbsstorageanditincreasedtherespirationrateofthebulbs,whichcouldbethe reasonthatthe senescence ofthe aboveground was speeded up.the diferent photoperiods had no significantefectonthedevelopment.
