The Arabic text is from the translation of 1865 by Smith & Van Dyke. The Greek text is that of the Westcott and Hort, edition of 1893; New York: Harper & Brothers, Franklin Square (WITHOUT the marginal readings). Verse references are added before each Greek verse. Accent, breathing marks and punctuation will generally NOT BE given. The English translation with four highlight colors: first second third highest plus bold and/or bold underline are used for various degrees of emphasis. Red Font color is used for emphasis in some notes. Italics are used for quotations. Bracketed Bible references will be supplied. For example Genesis 1:1 = [GEN 1:1] and 1 Kings1:1 = [1KI 1:1]. And the Light shines in the darkness and the darkness did not receive it [see JOH 1:10. There was a man sent from God; his name was John. ھ ذ ا ج اء ل لش ھ اد ة ل ی ش ھ د ل لن ور ل ك ي ی و م ن \ل ك ل ی وح ن ا 1:7 ط ت ھ ب و.اس JOH 1:7 Ουτος ηλθεν εις μαρτυριαν ινα μαρτυρηση περι του φωτος ινα παντες πιστευσωσιν δι αυτου. This one came to be a witness [JOH 1:7; 8; 15; 19; 32; 34 - See also MAL 3:1; MAT 17:9-14], in order that he might witness about the Light, in order that all might believe through Him. ل م ی ك. ن ھ و \لن ور ب ل ل ی ش ھ د ل لن ور ی وح ن ا 1:8 JOH 1:8 ουκ ην εκεινος το φως αλλ ινα μαρτυρηση περι του φωτος. He was not that Light but in order that he might witness about the Light. 2

ك ان \لن ور \ل ح ق یق ي \ل ذ ي ی ن یر ك ل إ ن س ان آت ی ا إ ل ىی وح ن ا 1:9. ل ع ال م \ JOH 1:9 ην το φως το αληθινον ο φωτιζει παντα ανθρωπον ερχομενον εις τον κοσμον. He [Jesus] was the true Light Who lights all men [JOH 8:12, a light to ALL - not just to the Jews; see also JOH 1:4, 5; 3:19-21; 2CO 4:3, 4; ROM 1:19-25] coming into the world. ن ف ي \ل ع. ال م و ك و ن \ل ع ال م ب ھ و ل م ی ع ر ف ھ \ل ع ال م ی وح ن ا 1:10 JOH 1:10 εν τω κοσμω ην και ο κοσμος δι αυτου εγενετο και ο κοσμος αυτον ουκ εγνω. For no one is able to do these signs which You are doing unless God be with him. ف ق ال ی س ل ح ق وع :» \ل ح ق أ ق ول ل ك : إ ن ك ان أ ح د لا ی وح ن ا 3:3 ی ول د م ن.«ف و ق لا ی ق د ر أ ن ی ر ى م ل ك وت \ JOH 3:3 απεκριθη ιησους και ειπεν αυτω αμην αμην λεγω σοι εαν μη τις γεννηθη ανωθεν ου δυναται ιδειν την βασιλειαν του θεου Jesus answered and said to him, Most assuredly, I say to you, Except one should be born again [from above does not fit the context see JOH 3:4. The phrase born again simply means born of the Spirit. Verse 5 explains verse 3] he is not able to SEE the Kingdom of God [JOH 18:36; LUK 16:16; 18:17 f.]. ق ال ل ھ ن یق ود یم ك ی وس : ف» ی م ك ن \لا ن س ان أ ن ی ول د ی وح ن ا 3:4 و ش ی خ أ» ل ع ل ھ ی ق د ر أ ن ی د خ ل ب ط ن أ م ھ ث ان ی ة و ی ول د JOH 3:4 λεγει προς αυτον ο νικοδημος πως δυναται ανθρωπος γεννηθηναι γερων ων μη δυναται εις την κοιλιαν της μητρος αυτου δευτερον εισελθειν και γεννηθηναι Nicodemus says to Him, How is a man able to be born being old? HE IS NOT ABLE TO ENTER HIS MOTHER S WOMB A SECOND TIME AND TO BE BORN! أ ج اب ل ح ی س ق وع : \ل ح» ق أ ق ول ل ك : إ ن ك ان أ ح د لا ی ول د ی وح ن ا 3:5 ن \ل م اء و. \ل ر وح لا ی ق د ر أ ن ی د خ ل م ل ك وت \ JOH 3:5 απεκριθη ο ιησους αμην αμην λεγω σοι εαν μη τις γεννηθη εξ υδατος και πνευματος ου δυναται εισελθειν εις την βασιλειαν του θεου

و ق ف. Jesus answered, Most assuredly, I say to you, Except one be born of water [1st birth] and spirit [2nd birth Verse 6 explains verse 5] he is not able to enter into the Kingdom of God. ل ود م ن. \ل ج س د ج س د ھ و و \ل م و ل ود م ن \لر وح ھ و ر وح ی وح ن ا 3:6 JOH 3:6 το γεγεννημενον εκ της σαρκος σαρξ εστιν και το γεγεννημενον εκ του πνευματος πνευμα εστιν The one having been born of the flesh is flesh [1st birth = the physical birth] and one having been born of the Spirit is spirit [2nd birth = the spiritual birth - see JOH 3:12] [One becomes a child of God NOT by physical birth, one s own works, or the works of others BUT by God JOH 1:13; ROM 9:15, 16.
