The principal welcomed all students and advised them of the importance of learning, discipline and achieving one s best. The church was filled with students as enrolments at the School have increased significantly, with waiting lists in some years. GREEK DANCING Greek Dancing has always played an important role in the Greek way of life. This year we are very fortunate to have Paroula Thurban join our School as the new Greek Dancing teacher. Paroula will incorporate dance, drama and the use of the Greek language to inspire our students to learn to dance. The infants classes will have Greek dancing incorporated into their daily timetable as indicated below at a cost of $50 a term, payable directly to Ms Paroula. Years 3-6 will have the opportunity to attend Greek Dancing classes on Tuesday afternoon from 3:15 to 4:15pm, also at a cost of $50 a term. High School students can attend on Tuesdays from 4:15 to 5:15, also at a cost of $50 a term which is to be payed directly to Ms Paroula. Today we understand that by introducing children to dance and movement at a young age will help them develop and mature physically, socially, emotionally, and cognitively. Above all, dancing enhances their skills of coordination, balance, flexibility, strength discipline stamina and memory. Kyria Paroula has been a significant contributor to the preservation of Greek culture throughout her 46 years of teaching the Greek language, dance, music and drama. K. Paroula and I, her daughter Nicole Englezos are extremely happy and excited to become a part of St Euphemia College. We will not only focus on teaching your child traditional Greek dance but also endeavour to inspire the love and passion we both share, in what we believe to be a vital part of our Greek culture and heritage dance, music and drama.
