JUNIOR CHOIR CONFERENCE Saint Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church in Oak Lawn will host the Annual Junior Choir Conference on October 9, 10 and 11. This conference is open for ages 8 to 16. Interested participants can pick up the permission slip forms from the Sunday School Office. If there is a huge interest for the conference, a car pool could be arranged to leave from our church to attend the event. NEWSLETTER DEADLINE All Church organizations are invited to submit newsworthy items for publication by the fifteenth of each month. Remember, the Newsletter is yours, make good use of it! CHURCH ETIQUETTE With a start of a new ecclesiastical year, we are reminded of the rules of Church etiquette. Parish Council members are asked not to usher in parishioners during the following solemn moments of the Divine Liturgy: 1.) During the small entrance. 2.) During the reading of Holy Scriptures. (Epistle & Gospel) 3.) Every time the Priest censes or faces the congregation to bless them. 4.) During the Great Entrance (Priest carries Chalice & Paten). 5.) During the recitation of Creed. 6.) During invocation of Holy Spirit. 7.) During recitation of the Lord s Prayer. 8.) During Holy Communion (from side aisles, exit center), and 9.) During the sermon. NOTE: During the Memorial Services, parishioners are kindly requested not to leave their seats in order to place candles in the Kollyva. Candles may be placed by the family in the Kollyva (1 or 3 are recommended) when the tray is first placed on the table and not at different times during the Liturgy. Non-family members may light a candle in memory and for the repose of the soul in the Narthex when they first enter the Church. HOLY COMMUNION: Please proceed row by row in an orderly fashion with the two middle sections moving directly into the center aisle forming one line while the two side sections move into the side aisles and toward the back of the nave to also line up in the middle aisle. Once receiving Holy Communion, communicants can exit right or left to return to their seats. Disabled parishioners are asked to wait at the steps for Father Constantine to come to them. DRESS CODE: Standing before the King of Kings in God s House does require proper attire, namely, dresses or skirts for women (please, no pants), dress slacks for men (please, no blue jeans and T- shirts), long pants and dress shoes for children (please, no shorts and athletic shoes). Εαν και µελετα µε κατανοησει οι ευλογιες ειναι αµετρητες. Γινεσθε λοιπον τακτικοι συµµετοχοι στο ευλογηµενο κυκλο αυτο το οποιο συνεδριαζει ηµερα Πεµπτη στις 7:00 µ.µ. Για τον µηνα Οκτωβριο θα συνεδριασουµε τη 1 και 29 του µηνος. Αρχιζουµε µε την Παρακλησιν προς την Υπεραγιαν Θεοτοκον. Μελεταµε το Βιβλιο της Αποκαλυψεως της Καινης ιαθηκης.
