The reading is from St. Paul's Letter to the Hebrews 9:11-14. BRETHREN, when Christ appeared as a high priest of the good things that have come, then through the greater and more perfect tent (not made with hands, that is, not of this creation) he entered once for all into the Holy Place, taking not the blood of goats and calves but his own blood, thus securing an eternal redemption. For if the sprinkling of defiled persons with the blood of goats and bulls and with the ashes of a heifer sanctifies for the purification of the flesh, how much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without blemish to God, purify your conscience from dead works to serve the living God. The bowl you decorate will be one of hundreds available to the public at the Empty Bowl fundraiser on May 4. HOSPITAL VISITS Due to HIPAA privacy rules, hospitals no longer provide a list of Orthodox patients to us. Therefore, if you or a loved one are, or will be, in the hospital, please contact the church office for a pastoral visit. Also, please notify the office if a friend or family member is in a rehab center, nursing home, assisted living facility or under hospice care. WELCOME TO OUR VISITORS Everyone is welcome in the Orthodox Church and may receive the blessed bread (antidoron) at the conclusion of the Divine Liturgy. Sadly, the divisions in the church prompt us all to work towards reunited Christianity. The culmination of this reunion will be the ability of all Christians to receive the Eucharist together. Until that blessed day arrives, only Orthodox Christians who are in good sacramental order are permitted to receive Holy Communion in the Orthodox Church. Friday the 4th we will head up to the Metropolis of Boston Camp for the day and welcome parents to join us and help carpool. We ask for a donation of $50 per child just to cover our expenses (rental van for Friday, snacks, extra curricular activities in the afternoons, crafts supplies, etc). During the Agape Service on Easter Sunday Morning, the Gospel is read in several different languages to show that all nations proclaim that Christ is Risen. English and Greek are traditionally read by the clergy. Languages such as Armenian, French, Portugese, Spanish, Chinese, Gaelic, Russian, Swahii, Latin, Arabic, Italian, German, and Albanian have been spoken in previous years.
