Resurrectional APOLYTIKION Mode 4 You descended from on high, O compassionate One, and condescended to be buried for three days, so that from the passions You might set us free. Our life and resurrection, O Lord, glory be to You. APOLYTIKION for St. Gregory the Theologian The shepherd's pipe of your theology overpowered the trumpets of the orators; for as you delved into the depths of the Spirit, so you were endowed with the power of eloquence. Father Gregory, intercede with Christ God, to save our souls. APOLYTIKION of the Annunciation Today is the beginning of our salvation, The revelation of the eternal mystery! The Son of God becomes the Son of the Virgin. As Gabriel announces the coming of Grace. Together with him let us cry to the Theotokos: Rejoice, O Full of Grace, The Lord is with You! KONTAKION of the Presentation of the Lord You sanctified the virginal womb by Your birth, O Lord, and blessed the hands of Symeon fittingly, O Christ God; and even now You came and saved us. Now, give peace to our Nation in time of war, and empower our Leaders, so loved by You, the only one who loves humanity.
EPISTLE READING St. Paul's Letter to the Hebrews 7:26-28; 8:1-2 Prokeimenon: Blessed are You, O Lord God of our fathers, for You are praiseworthy and exalted beyond measure unto the ages. Mode 4 Prayer of Azariah Brethren, it was fitting that we should have such a high priest, holy, blameless, unstained, separated from sinners, exalted above the heavens. He has no need, like those high priests, to offer sacrifices daily, first for his own sins and then for those of the people; he did this once for all when he offered up himself. Indeed, the law appoints men in their weakness as high priests, but the word of the oath, which came later than the law, appoints a Son who has been made perfect for ever. Now the point in what we are saying is this: we have such a high priest, one who is seated at the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in heaven, a minister in the sanctuary and the true tent which is set up not by man but by the Lord.
